My personal experience and knowledge as a SF soldier is these guys I have seen and personally know are there for the cool guy status big money and trigger time without the red tape. They don't have any stake in the overall mission and many times hurt it.

i have never understood the opposition to blackwater type outfits. They're utilized for a reason (their cost and expertise). They are not primary combat units, note that in this video they are DEFENDING against ATTACKING insurgents.
