  • To possess an ATPL you must be between 21 and 59 years old. No way he's 18 years old. I'm studying for mine now and looking forward to my type rating onto this aircraft. It is indeed a dream job, but a lot of training to get there believe me!

  • why were the screens going crazy

  • Why is the airplane saying Retard?

  • @Warfreak57 it says that you must pull the throttle to idle

  • @Warfreak57 Because Retard means slow, much like yourself.

  • This looked very scary for me through the cockpit view. Good job at least they landed safe.

  • I couldn't fly airbus planes, I can't handle being called a retard when I'm trying to land a plane!!! (yah yah I know what it means, it's just a joke) and the GPWS just creeps me out.

  • AirBus my ass

  • The first officer down not look 18.

  • so wait there are 4 retards in the cockpit?

  • went on an a320 flightdeck..!back in the 90s with CRT flat panels and side stick controller!

  • the copilot is so young , impresive

  • The Island is Madeira and the approach and landing is on 05.

  • eso es madeira????

  • 1:52 RETARD RETARD RETARD ?

  • @stedcrisp Retard means bring the throttles to idle to begin the flair. This warning happens if the throttles are above idle when below 30ft

  • Is that Maderia

  • @bristolpj1

Yes, Madeira, approach and landing on 06.

  • @grantrmca RWY 05, sir

  • i love the "retard" sound and GPWS

  • The First Officer Cannot Be 18... He Has 3 Stripes Meaning Hes Actually A Senior First Officer.. Which Is Highly Unlikley At 18 =S

  • if 3 stripes is senior first officer , whats 2 stripes . ps i dunno..

  • 2 Stripes Means You Are A First Officer

    3 Stipes Senior First Officer

    4 Stripes Captain

    :)

  • "short runway"?

go check out Santos Dumont airport in Brazil... search on youtube for "SDU 2R landing" or something... then we can talk about short runways haha :)

    good video btw, grats!

  • my dream job!!!

  • @PIECE2YOURMOTHA

    mine 2

  • 18 years old?

You start with your CPL when you're 18, and normaly finish with 20, that's about it.

  • Yes and he would be older before he would have enough hours to posess an ATPL.... He looks to be about around 18 though.

    Ciao

  • @grantrmca but you don't neeed an ATPL to start working at an airline. A Frozen ATPL is enough, Frozen means you have CPL plus Multi Engine Instrument rating, MCC and ATPL theory. if you're quick you can have you (f)ATPL at the age of 19 when you finish your Flight Traning, and that means you're ready to fly at a major airline

  • 18 and flying an airbus

    lucky guy

  • when they land why is the spoilers in the in the down position?

  • The other reason that you use the "top flap" is when you have to lose altitude quickly in a controlled manner and you do not have time to complete a planned descent.

  • The reason for use of the bottom flaps is to reduce the speed of the aircraft while at the same time increasing the lift of the plane allowing you to land safely at a slower speed. The top flap has two common functions, to act as an air brake when you land... you have the wheel brakes, air brake (top flap) and reverse thrust to slow you down.

  • yes but the it looks like the airbrakes are not armed.

  • They armed at minimum, you can see this at 15 seconds into the video. Once you land and the speedbrake engages they automatically disengage once the thrust is returned to idle, so when it may look like they were not engaged but were.

  • Haha 1:51

  • That's the island of Madeira... belongs to Portugal, but mainland Portugal is not an island... Portugal and Spain together form the Iberian Peninsula. ;) great video, thanx for uploading.

  • I think Airbus changed the voice on newer versions...

  • They did, the voice is much clearer and louder.

  • ICAO , 21 year old for atpl license :)

  • It must take long itme to learn to fully craft one of thease vessels

  • haha the ground proximity warning system (GPWS) is drunk...

  • hahaha

  • Must be a minimum of 21 years old !
