Dead bloody right all those with positive comments - well played hoopkim for sharing this with the world. Most enjoyable. And "mixed and chopped" beautifully.
I was reminded of this song after hearing 'La La' by Stepkids. They've definitely taken inspiration from 'Les Fleurs'. Not that I blame them; it's a fantastic song.
My favorite song of all times. I love Minnie she was talented beyond what anyone could ever imagine! An artist ahead of her times. That horn in this song speaks to my soul!

I have to agree with you ..They don't make music like this anymore ..RIP Minnie and Charles
Just watched her story on Unsung. I caught a glimpse of this song and it sounded so beautiful. I remembered the name of it and found it here.
I must say this is one of the most beautifully written songs I've ever heard. The lyrics are so pure and undiluted, The instrumentals are so smooth and soothing, and the vocals are simply beautiful.

The basic theme ( intro ) reminds me of "Can't Find My Way Home" by Blind Faith.
"Les Fleurs" was recorded in late November of 1969 and the album "Blind Faith" was released a few months prior to that.
I wonder whether Steve Winwood knows this.

Minnie is singing first person in the beginning of Les Fleurs as the flower. So she is asking if someone will wear her (a flower) to the fair and if someone will pin her (flower) in her hair. Then she switches to third person and sings about flowers. Seems confusing but I hope I cleared this up. Come Into My Garden was Minnie's classical album released very early in her career after Rotary Connection. Petals is the name of her anthology.
