"Dear Prudence" was recorded in August of 1968 and a few months prior to that "Les Fleurs" was released on the 'Maiden Voyage' album by Ramsey Lewis who plays the piano on Minnie's version, by the way.

Minnie is singing first person in the beginning of Les Fleurs as the flower. So she is asking if someone will wear her (a flower) to the fair and if someone will pin her (flower) in her hair. Then she switches to third person and sings about flowers. Seems confusing but I hope I cleared this up. Come Into My Garden was Minnie's classical album released very early in her career after Rotary Connection. Petals is the name of her anthology.
