You can do 5 seconds of research and find this out. Now, I don't like the NIV either because it's a dangerous mix of literal and paraphrase. I personally use the KJV and ESV (both literal translations) along with the original languages. But learn your facts before you try and spout them off like that.

All of the books in the modern Bible were accepted by the early church before they were even a collection. This is why the church fathers assembled to formally canonize what was already established. Scholarship isn't perfect, and the Bible isn't inerrant (as no translation can be), but there are no contradictions and it is infallible (that is, all of its doctrines are consistent and will never fail).

If I can remember correctly was that he told this in a sermon to a group of people, he told them to go home and come back the next day. Then he asked them if they had prayed about it. Actually God tells us to comfort one another in his name. History lesson: we were chased out of Missouri by religious radicals like some of you people on here, and we came to Utah. What about books being left out, passages changed, or meanings lost through multiple translations. Moses had to have a spokesman (Aaron) so does that make him less of a prophet because he couldn't speak to people?

@allmetal71 The tools recommended is the STANDARD King James. Not a NIV, Not one of the newer translations U can just forget them . They will lead U down Primrose Lane. A standard King James alone with Dr. Strongs work Strong's Exhausted Concordance gives U the ability to take the language back to the original weather it be Hebrew, Greek or Aramaic. Giving U that authority & power . Those things are inexpensive & all Christians should have those two in Ur library .

Lucifer is also used to mean "bright" or "dawn". Helel was the title of a Babylonian king, and is not Satan. The scholars who translated the KJV used the Latin translation to help their English, thus "Lucifer" sticking is a scholarly error.

Read Isaiah in context - it's about Israel being oppressed and the oppressor falling from power. The king Helel son of Shahar fell in these passages; it's not talking about Satan.
You can do 5 seconds of research and find this out. Now, I don't like the NIV either because it's a dangerous mix of literal and paraphrase. I personally use the KJV and ESV (both literal translations) along with the original languages. But learn your facts before you try and spout them off like that.

Book by book, verse by verse. When I visit home I never fail to visit one of my most admired teachers Arnold Murphy from whom I studied under for yrs. Shepherds Chapel Gravett Arkansas. All of the books in the modern Bible were accepted by the early church before they were even a collection. This is why the church fathers assembled to formally canonize what was already established. Scholarship isn't perfect, and the Bible isn't inerrant (as no translation can be), but there are no contradictions and it is infallible (that is, all of its doctrines are consistent and will never fail).
Moses was a man with problems. YHWH used him anyway. I find that beautiful.

I know God's will and I know his word, and in the book of mormon, many prophets ran around telling people everyone would go to heaven, and it was alie, but many believed them, there will be tons of people who believe false doctrine because they don't want to repent of their sins. If someone fears God they will believe him and live for him, and do everything they can to please God. That is why the Bible says Abraham was going to sacrifice his son. If it's a matter of opening up to "let in the light," then all other faiths find the same fault in you. Mormons, Roman Catholics (if you're a Protestant), Muslims, etc., all think that you have shut your blinds to the light of their "revelations."

@pappyforyou lol he did say something like that. What Brigham Young said was that there are Quackers on the moon. If I can remember correctly was that he told this in a sermon to a group of people, he told them to go home and come back the next day. Then he asked them if they had prayed about it. He did it to prove a point. And that was that don't just take the Prophet's words, but to go to God and pray about these things and find out for yourself.

Actually God tells us to comfort one another in his name. History lesson: we were chased out of Missouri by religious radicals like some of you people on here, and we came to Utah. However, the government tried to shut us down as well. so we formed a militia and won! we could only do that withy the help of our Heavenly Father. So ya see, we are but one of the very few armies to beat the usa and still be standing unharmed. we also pray to the Holy Ghost which gives us guidance and comfort. Amen.

Honest question here for LDS members; Whats 'fruits' do you have in your life that show you are walking with God? Fruits as in; Galatians 5, or possibly even operating in the Gifts in I Cor 12. "You shall know a tree by its fruits." (Luke6:44) Jesus said that, what can you bring to the table? emotional and spiritual consolidation/comfort does not count.

Shawn, I don't any problem with you reaching out to inactive or former LDS who feel a disconnection with the church, and who would certainly benefit from having a relationship with Jesus independent of their standing or membership in the LDS Church. As you said "raising those in the Terrestial Kindom to the Tellestial Kingdom where they can live with Jesus."
What I do have a problem with is your method of doing it by defaming our beliefs and our prophets. Why tear down one to lift another?

Joseph Smith didn't or couldn't raise the dead. Christ did....... Joeseph Smith didnt die on the cross for me... Christ did. Jesus didnt have sex with 33 different women, some of which were peoples wives. Jesus didnt. So I guess some would say that JS was much more a "lady's man" than Jesus was.
