It is a rather clear reference to Hitler... and I don't see how that ruins anything, really. He IS the villain of the movie and he does murder the shit out of Mufasa and then proceed to fuck up the rest of everything until Simba comes back. Also, the hyenas are goose-stepping, and none of this makes for a good case, which is fine, because, as I said, I don't think it ruins anything at all. In fact, it sort of boosts my enjoyment, in a nerdy way.
