does anyone know the music played during the beginning of this clip? this is from the dvd, not the original broadcast - of which I still have audio cassettes of. It's also not on any soundtrack album or cd.
I love to see that on Youtube really exists amazing videos that deserves to be seen and understood, there are people like Cars Sagan that are teachers for the entire human kind! And the best part; 6:02 A still more glorious dawn awaits... not a sunrise.... but a galaxy rise! and of course, the music is great, very motivational and energizing!
no Vangelis heaven and hell is quite well known as the opening theme - everyone is clamoring for the piece used for the ending credits to THIS video. The dvd set reworked some of the music. I have audio cassettes of the original broadcast 30 years ago - and the music is different. I also had the original vinyl lp, and 2 different versions of the music on cd. THIS piece is nowhere to be found.
@LadyMoondancer I share your frustration, I too have all these formats. By way of small consolation you might take a look at my profile photo, a painting which this elusive music inspired me to do "Galaxy rising on the shores of the cosmic ocean". Best Regards
I was able to obtain the music I wanted by downloading this clip using RealPlayer. then I "trimmed" the video, then converted the audio portion to mp3. So altho I don't know the title of this music, nor the artist, I at least have the music. I am working on converting ALL my music to mp3 and putting it all on a portable hard drive.
Does anyone know what the music is over the end credits Immediately AFTER the update with the Galaxy rise over the ocean ( not the collectors edition credits ). I've been searching for years.
I see I'm not the only one searching for this music, but no answers are forthcoming. so I'm downloading this vid via realplayer, will trim the video, then convert that music to mp3. I have the dvd set, 3 versions of the music soundtrack, but not this one piece of music - it's so beautiful and it touches the heart and soul.
? The Iraqi people in general are very glad for the intervention of the US. My brother has been over there and the tell him how glad they are that the US came there. I also have some friends that are from Iraq and the same story. the people like us the one in power do not. big difference. if that is not what you are talking about then you need to be more clear.
you don't understand anything kid. the US may or may not have gone there for good reason however the people where being shit on by the government. Now they are not and they are happy for it. i don't give a rat's ass about the governments of any country and what they think or say. the people living there however is different and in Iraq they are very happy we came. take a look at what iran is doing to It's people right now mass murder and arrest because of a fixed election.
@rflooker If the US was truly interested in helping a struggling nation, then there's a million other places they could have gone to - but that wasn't the case.
The US is only interested in making a profit and screwing everyone over... and we're not even good at making a profit anymore, so we're basically useless.
if your mother was raped and your brother was killed and your dad arrested or no real reason other that saying they don't like how things are ya, you maybe kinda happy that someone came in and changed that.
I remember when this ep first aired in 1980, they used Jean-Michel Jarre's _Equinox 4_ for the "Wormhole" sequence... It fitted the animation better somehow...
I think that is a HUGE stretch to say that one of the affects is world hunger!! World hunger is NOT a food problem - it is a distribution problem. We make more than enough food - we just cannot distribute this food to those that suffer from hunger - and they simply cannot - by political or famine or other reasons produce enough food to feed themselves. World hunger has nothing whatsoever to do with the manufacture or growing of food or food products. World hunger is man made and selective!
Yes, world hunger is partly a question of distribution BUT it's also very much linked to overpopulation and the ignorance of the governments in the countries concerned to educate their people and supply them with contraception. This world could be a paradise with, say, 1 billion people instead of the current 6.5 billion and rising. Everyone could have a standard of living equivalent to that of the developed countries (I exclude the U.S. which criminally wastes in its resources).
Of course you think the US wastes it resources - most jealous countries do - even though no country does more - or gives more food to underdeveloped countries!!! That is to be expected - most countries do nothing but bitch about our prosperity - they NEVER help!! America gives over $100 billion of food away EVERY YEAR to underdeveloped countries. Wait until the next earthquake/flood America will be there FIRST with food and medical supplies to help. Jealous, jealous, jealous!!!!
The US does have it's problems as does *every* country, but considering that the US has saved your country's "ass" and on more than one occasion you would think you would have a little better attitude about them. And as far as that goes most European countries are guilty of many "crimes" and waste of resources and wars in their history so it would be the pot calling the kettle black as they say. At least the US *wastes* its resources helping other countries. Did France ever do that? I think not
If by "saving ass" you mean "bleeding dry then piling up decades of debt" and only getting involved after being attacked then thanks... i think. On the other hand, if britain hadn't of resisted, hitlers power would have grown beyond the fledgling U.S's ability to stop him... you're welcome
At 1:52 Carl touches on biomass conversion. A VERY important concept that affects us all in powerful ways, but not even most highly-educated people fully appreciate it. It affects world hunger, energy consumption, health, pollution, animal suffering, and even global warming. Who knew that dietary choices could be such a big deal?
sweet! All that from an apple pie... :D

I don't know how to send mp3 files thru email. do you?
I'll try to figure it out. I suppose I should log in to my email and see what options they have for sharing mp3 files.
