In A New Game+, What Do You Get To Keep? What Do You Lose?

@StealthReconNexus Depends on the difficulty level. You won't get to keep characters' experience and levels no matter which difficulty you're going to, but things like items and skill levels -- those are potentially transferable to another cycle.

@Lo0kuaz The game is turn based, so it was just filming "my turn." Basically you see how long it takes just to kill him (he has lots of HP), so it would be over 10 minute limit if I show the entire fight (this is back in 2009 when it was 10 min limit).. I'm not saying it's impossible to show the whole final boss battle in under 10, but you would need to either (a) not play so flashy and/or skip animations or (b) fast forward the video (which I only learned after).

@QuatreiZer0 They atack. The case is...this guy has LOTS of AP. Also,when you break a boss(the green thing,under his HP gauge),you recover all the AP you wasted so far...

Okay, I Switched to PS3 and this game looks good. i'm new to this.. extremely new and i don't have a clue, i saw after you level up you get Points to put into STR,INT Etc Etc. And also i see how the boss hits once and then its combo after combo until he's dead.. can you explain some of this? Its really confusing and sould i spend my money on this if i zero knowlage on this game style? Iv'e played some FFs Btw. But im not very good at Forgeing or Grinding. for items. D:

@MrLolAnt OMG -- Don't get it!

The battle system places TOTAL emphasis on combos and character/skill compatibility, which they don't ever tell you, you have to look it up online yourself to find out what skills they will learn. There are no towns to explore. The world feels barren...only about 30 characters really in the WHOLE game. Get Ar Tonelico 3 when it comes out, it is a much better game in every aspect I can think of.

@C4T4STR0PHE just remembered our conversation and wanted to add, i stuck to york felicia meu and lazarus and about 1month ago i finished the post game at around lvl 600. no big deal with using 1000deaths strategie was plain simple, always have meu down/burst break them and destory those bosses with a 1000deaths. no magic combos needed ^.^ and there was really no need for such high AP, just made sure felicia and york could dodge nearly all physical attacks :)

@xMandoxMmax in your case, you can go to 5-1 and 5-2. the very last part (5-3) is only accessible if you picked hard mode. good luck.

Hey what more thing what slots do you use on your gear i i have like ap+ and stuff but it doesnt regenrate as well as yours does whats your secreate

@anime01231 I'd say ability slots aren't where you get your AP (AP Up only gives +1 AP); it's when you upgrade your equipment to GR5 and do composites. I personally always prioritized AP over all else for comps. +9 AP (3x Jellies) for your 999GR weapon, then +4 AP (1 Jelly + 1 Flowering/Flowing Moonlight) for your 500GR armor, and +3 AP (1 Jelly) for your 350GR accessory.

@anime01231 Yeah, the jellies you can get an infinite supply of, but only in the post game as far as I know (many 5-3 bosses drop them). Up till that point, you basically find them in treasure chests IIRC. 5-3 means layer/world 5, 3rd map. The voice data is in the menu system for each character, and you can only unlock all of them if you beat this very boss or buy the dlc...

i just dont get how you got that many AP... ok, im only at the second wave of bosses in 5-3 and only around lvl300 but that shouldnt matter. for example my felicia is already using the strongest weapon, strongest armor and a galaxy champ as accessoir and the best costume for ap but i only get up to 128 AP with her

besides, my team consists of felicia, york, lazarus and meu (which mostly works only as a burst/down breaker). any suggestions?

@Vendetta444 I think your AP is good! Empowering Jellies (+3 AP) really add up. But you may need the HIT/STR first in 5-3 before you can go 100% AP on composite if you are still dealing with Emptinesses (the ones that are hard to hit).

that's a VERY good pair with Felicia and Lazarus and you can build a team around them.but if you replace Lazarus with Aurica, you would have one of the most widely used parties, capable of doing all four final rank branch combos (f. rave, a. fear, g. end, rag).

@C4T4STR0PHE right now i have 2 savegames. one at the beginning of 5-3 with around 30000pp and one in the middle of the second wave of bosses with all pp spent and weapons composed. thanx to that york and felicia are imune to physical attacks and all 4 hit every boss just fine. only problem, the equip doesnt have any grade left :P and its also more of a gamble depending on what attack goes to which character... killing them is quite easy with 10k atk, if i live long enough :P

@C4T4STR0PHE however, trade lazarus for aurica? sounds crazy XD how am i supposed to get up to f.rave then? felicia+york would be stuck at sneak vanish or meus cross orbit or magnum shell would require reicher instead of york then? do i really need all those combos? i usually spam cross orbit for downbreak / magnum shell for burst break (depending on the weapon) and then 3-4times 1000deaths to OK them.

I just got to Pragma 1, what kind of team should I use? My current one is Lyner, Morrigan, Meu, and York, in that order. The best attack I've been able to use has been Blood Circle or Meteor Drop...

@DAsrada I'm sorry as I haven't played the game in literally a year at this point so I may be giving you bad information, I'm sure you've got it figured out by now. If so please post your new party to help anyone else! If not, I hope someone else responds and gives you some advice. The main glaring flaw to me was that you seem to be missing a full-time mage (I suppose Lyner and Morrigan do have a decent number of enchants up their sleeve though!)

Well, I did come up with a new team of Raze, Morrigan, Prinny, and maybe Shurelia. Shurelia's summoning, I find, is quite useful, and her magical strength is at over 3000.

@tomanatorness It takes a very long time to get to the end/post game stuff, forget about platinum unless you want to spend a whole weekend straight just playing the game 24/7. It is turn based, kind of like a strategy/rpg hybrid (you have a grid to move your chars around in battle). But it is not really like the usual rpgs you may be used to (e.g. no real towns). It's more about the gameplay than the story. I would not recommend it but that's just me...some people like it.

@tomanatorness Hello -- sorry I haven't played either of those...basically there are no real towns in that you can't enter a town and explore it in moving around and speaking to NPCs and such. What the game is, basically, is a series of events in which you just watch little scenes play out with the characters talking to each other (there's only about 30 of them in all, including the villains). There are dungeons where you can move around a bit though. Did you end up getting the game?

and ive not yet enough Hit with my B-Skill physical team to grind with them

and the mix people dont seem to have enough power... dont really know why

well and i admit im to lazy for hours of farming for some of the ultimate weps when i could spare time with the doppleganger stuff

1.is there a way to get HIT easier up? cause i grow tired of using the same team or tons of grinding

2.is a mix MIX 3 team any good? (its not my main team my main are raze felicia jedah lily my mix team is york prinny shurelia aurica with mediocre results)

3.have you any ideas for a good and/or intresting magic team? (if possible with ex skill combo cause i like them sadly i couldnt get a usable team together myself although i didnt try very hard

1. No shortcut... Wear +50 (or was it 55?) STR on your ability slots. Composite your gear with throwaway STR and HIT upgrades.

2. I can't answer, as I never used A. Fear that much, but the most popular team is York, Felicia, Meu, and Aurica. But the big weakness is lot of self comboing.

3. EX combos are not very important. It's more important to pick a balanced team that can do regular combos

2 phys attackers, 1 hybrid, 1 mage

or

2 phys and 2 mages

@jonny412587 Empowering Jellies (some bosses drop them in 5-3 if you want an unlimited supply) and Flowing/Flowering Moonlights with left over points composited onto equipment. Wear ultimate weapons with 999 Grade (highest tier synthesized weapons) and your best armor (or Chicken Emblems) and accessories. Equip Ap+ on your active skill slots if you're in need of a few more.

Yes I know. I wanted to show the entire battle but it was going to be a lot longer than the 10 minute limit as you fight three bosses in this one battle each with around 1 million HP or so IIRC (York + Miko + Dark Baku) , so I elected to show the last round of my team fighting.

@santo379 if u want platinum, I'd suggest to play easier to platinum games, if u still want to play this game, make sure to look at the guides, that way u can get platinum in 1st try :D btw nice APs there :D I use Reicher, Felicia, York, and Miko :D
