It's cool to look back at them. My mom would always tell a story about how she met the original guys back when she was in college. She was a reporter for the college news and got to interview them. It went something like this: "I was just ready to start the interview with one of them[sorry forgot which] and he laughed and pointed at my hair. He then turned around and said, "Curly! Look at this hair! Beats yours!""
Thanks for sharing this unique video of the HGT's and how their unique brand of ambassadorship has brought people and nations together through the years. The Trotters will always be the magicians of basketball and what showmen they are. I have seen them perform live several times and haven't been disappointed.
My father was one of the Original Harlem Globetrotters in the early 50's.
My new book Basketball Slave tells the real story behind the Globetrotters and NBA.
Includes interviews with Wilt Chamberlain and other greats in that era that tells the real deal that the HG organization and the NBA never though would surface.
I'm a young, basketball fan and my wife, I and kids love basketball and the Harlem Globtrotters!!! The teamwork and entertainment they show are a great show of sportsmanship and respect of the game. TEAMWORK is one of the biggest ideas we not only show our kids but live it everyday!!!
Seven-part documentary from 2005, very worthwhile and enjoyable. Talking heads include Henry Kissinger, Bill Bradley, Phil Jackson, and Barack Obama, at that time a first-term senator from Illinois.
I rofled when they said black people can't jump
