If he did come in too fast, then it's down to Approach telling him to. Speeds on finals are controlled by them to allow for traffic in front, behind and any traffic on the runway, or vacating the runway.

Listen to any APP conversation and the APP controller often asks the pilot to 'adjust your approach speed to ###'

I am not even going to bother trying to explain xwind / gusty landing conditions. Pilot ran a perfect profile. His speed is perfect to conditions and aircraft loading ( any of you know what these are ??? ) . right, the will. but they have to be able to stop without them. so it is an option but not necessary. I´ve been also on a flight were they didn´t activate the reverser. well, maybe they were out of order.

there´s no need to activate the reversers. a commercial plane is only allowed to land on a certain runway if it´s able to stop there only by it´s wheel brakes.

the reversers are only a gift of the engine manufacturer.

*Pilot cut the throttle to late (so when he ¨flares¨ the plane,it float a little cause of the power still alive in the engines.
