I always see Audi as the Tag along, the One that never quite makes it. Mercedes are great for a true luxury saloon/sedan and there safety innovations are amazing. A BMW handles superbly and always puts a smile on your face. An audi, well , they claim to drive really well, but they are always bettered by BMW. The ride quality and cabin noise is nowhere near as good as a Mercedes. Audi, The one who never made it.

Audis may be overpriced VWs but when you get an Audi at least you are getting an UPGRADE, unlike Toyata/Lexus. The difference between VW/Audi and Toyota/Lexus is the indepence of the corresponding brands. The VW/Audi look totally different in terms of interior, exterior, and performance. While VW are Audi are FWD, VW arranges the engine in a transverse way, the Audi, longitudinally. Audi has the MMI while VW doesn't, yet.

(just take a look at new upcoming vw jetta-its just A4 with diferrent front part). Audi is just better equiped and sometimes better looking vw. @ineverrememberthese The current S-Class generation (not the recent "remodelling") have been released in 2006 (We can think they started r&d in 2004). Let's see what Mercedes-Benz will release when the current A8 will be 5 years old and how this "2012 A8" will be compared to the new S-Class.

@uberenthusiasts Caught up with and surpassed in my humble opinion. Really though, the two target different market niches. The benz typically attracts older buyers and the audi younger ones. I am a younger buyer, and the youthful feel of the A8 appeals to me more than the cushy more "old world" luxury of the Mercedes. My comment might have been a tad over ecstatic, but can you blame me? I just bought an Audi, which even surprised me, because going into my search I was hell bent on Benz or BMW.

The funny thing about this commercial is that it appears to put the Mercedes in its best light. As someone here else mentioned, the Audi looked so dated and plain compared to the W124.

I always see Audi as the Tag along, the One that never quite makes it. Mercedes are great for a true luxury saloon/sedan and there safety innovations are amazing. A BMW handles superbly and always puts a smile on your face. An audi, well , they claim to drive really well, but they are always bettered by BMW. The ride quality and cabin noise is nowhere near as good as a Mercedes. Audi, The one who never made it.

So many times I see an A4 in the streets and think, "Who dumped those nice wheels and chrome bits on that Jetta?!" only to do a double-take and correctly ID it as an Audi. GG, VW Group, try making the primo brand look a little more differentiated from the cheapo brand next time, huh?

@ScubaSteveM45 They are largely different cars under the hood, and I think you'll notice that with B7 and B8 A4, it looks nothing like a Jetta. The B6 B5 etc on the other hand... yeah. They look just like Jettas.

Audis may be overpriced VWs but when you get an Audi at least you are getting an UPGRADE, unlike Toyata/Lexus. The difference between VW/Audi and Toyota/Lexus is the indepence of the corresponding brands. The VW/Audi look totally different in terms of interior, exterior, and performance. While VW are Audi are FWD, VW arranges the engine in a transverse way, the Audi, longitudinally. Audi has the MMI while VW doesn't, yet.

(just take a look at new upcoming vw jetta-its just A4 with diferrent front part). Audi is just better equiped and sometimes better looking vw. And talking about driving handling and performance in combination with audi is funny,merc and bmw are far ahead from audi and its tragically bumping chassis (iknow what im talking about-drove thousands of km in a6 and a4)
