Hey Woody, your vids are great, love your tutorials, I've learned a lot and I love the Seahawk, I got it just the other day. Best part is that you can detach the display and put it full screen in high resolution on a second monitor.
FS is good enough. There is almost no point in trying to completely simulate the flying dynamics of a helicopter, especially when using only a desktop joystick, like I am. Nothing can compare to actually flying, so I believe it is best to use FS as a theory and terminology learning learning tool, which it has done for me. If I had a full cockpit set-up, it would be different though.
Besides, this Jayhawk was developed along side real Jayhawk pilots. I trust I can learn from it.

Awesome! I love the H-60, specifically the Jayhawks and Seahawks, too.
Thanks for the nice comment and kind words! Enjoy the sim, and I'll see you around.

I might have to lay my hands on that. Hope nemeth designs do the Jayhawk though. Fingers crossed!!

Yeah, it's a great model, and simulates the systems on board very well.
If Nemeth does this, it will be a very pretty model, however, they'd probably leave the systems out of it, knowing some of their other products.
I'd recommend this Aerosoft bird to anyone

Who's Model Jayhawk are you flying? Hovercontrol or other?
RescueShrek 2 years ago
This is a part of the Aerosoft Jayhawk and Seahawk package. It's payware

you gotta be one hell of a pilot to keep a steady hover if that shit stops working in the middle of a storm, LOL.

nice video, what joystick you use?

Thanks!
I use a Saitek Aviator. A simple joystick, but it's perfect for flying these helicopters, and it is not very expensive.

If you want realistic helicopter simulation I recommend DCS: Black Shark and give up on FSX as even with heli force it feels a lot too easy

And with that said, I'll let you know that I'll be getting the DCS simulator when the Apache version is released.
TheyTookMyWoody 2 years ago
It'll be the Alpha but I'm still looking forward to it, apparently there's one planned after A-10 before Apache so it'll be an even longer wait
SheepJumpFish 2 years ago
Yeah, that won't be a problem for me. I'm in no rush, lol.
