  • this is how the album should have sounded the first time but the band did what that thought was right after cliffs death but jason got the gig with metallica for a reason.this is a great album

  • It's a shame, Death's Human encountered the same problem. For those who haven't heard the album, Steve Digiorgio made a bass masterpiece, and when he heard the completed album with the bass mixed out, he threw it out of a window. And now, it's remixed and sounds incredible. Same story pretty much. But it's been saved by a recent remix. Digiorgio rips. Check it out -

  • Jasoned

    ...And Justice for Jason

    Eye of (The) Jason

    Jasone

    The Shortest Jason

    Jason of Sorrow

    The Frayed Ends of Jason

    To Live is To Jason

    Dyers Jason

  • IMO, this sounds MUCH MUCH better. Thanks.

The original tracks were way too 'crunchy' and thin without this added bass. Like a Wheat Thin or something.

  • what kind of idiots basically leave out the bass on an album?... oh, James and Lars.

  • LOL ''... And Justice For JASON ''

  • Goddamn Jason is a BEAST on that bass

  • Love it. Sounds like Overkill's "I Hear Black". Really like this mix.

  • My dick just moved.

  • Pity it took so long for the truth to out that Lars and James mixed the album to downplay the bass and downgrade Jason's contribution as they were not able to handle the death of Cliff when they did AJFA, this is so much better than the washed out sound of the released album

  • so many awesome riffs get cut it's not even close to funny....most aaa+ bands could make second albums from the cuts alone!

  • This makes the album so much better.....

  • How did Rock Band get a copy of all the different sub-mixes? Did Geffen hand it over, or is this bass-line just a studio reconstruction for the purpose of using in the game?

  • FUCK Metallica... this is how this was supposed to sound... Jason was awesome in F&J and it was a fucking injustice you could not hear his playing on the original tracks..... this is SOOOOOOO much better.... I can't believe an album I already loved could improve this much.

  • Man, the songs sounds like other songs! It was a great mistake do put down the bass on this...

  • Now a I can say it's the best fucking album ever!

  • Yay

  • Hell Yeah!!!

  • the bass wasnt increased, the jason newstead was turned down

  • This video proves that every mistake could be fixed no matter how old and big it is.

  • @lonlich Except LuLu...

  • Are you sure this is the original bass track? I thought they did not record this album with any bass track at all.

  • @StAugustine79 Yeah it had bass it was just turned down alot, in memory of Cliff I think.

  • @StAugustine79 There is a bass track, but James and Lars hated Jason back then so they turned down the bass.

  • @ManiTheKingOfKings bullshit, they didnt hated him. sure they teased him and pushed him around. but they didnt hate him do your research before speaking.

  • @StAugustine79 Jason Newsted recorded these bass tracks for And Justice For All in 1988. Unfortunately, as an act of hazing, the other band members turned the bass down on the record. It is great to re-listen to this album with this change.

  • AND THE BASS SHOULD BE THIS LOUD

  • Jason should Start and Online lobby to have "...And Justice For Jason!" released and make millions

  • I Thought there weren't any bass in this.....=l

  • I had the album and it seemed there was too much bass in it. But this version I can really hear him play versus just too much bass reverb!!

  • Is there maybe a version where the bass is as loud as it SHOULD be?

  • ...wow,ajfa songs are now COURFUL!!!

  • *without it*

  • This album would have sounded 100X heavier with the bass up higher in the mix since the album already sounds awesome even with it. Metallica: please re-release this album with bass!!!!

  • ha... and justice for jason

  • Awante Jason lml

  • puta la wea hermosa loko ! el bajo hace la diferencia grande jason

  • good job ! friend!

  • Hang your heads in shame Metallica.

  • Now the bass is too loud and it's fighting for prominence with the guitar.

  • Makes the whole album sound more massive!

  • NOW IT SOUNDS COMPLETE!!!

  • this album really could use some mids

  • con todo respeto a james y lars, fue un grave error eliminar el sonido del bajo en el album

  • Soooo f.c.k.n. haaaard!!! ...and justice for Jason!!!

  • Thanks so much for posting this. Great to finally hear that missing bass :)

  • hey u...plzzz do for Eye Of The Beholder.....:)

  • Hah, this last night I dreamed I was listening to this song. xP

  • Fuck the DRAMA !!!! ENJOY IT FOR WHAT IT IS & WHAT IT WAS !!!!!! EVERYTHING CHANGES AS WE CAN TELL FROM ALL THE SHIT THAT IS NOWA DAYS!!!!! WERE ONLY HUMAN & U MUST APPRECIATE WHAT IS GOOD NO MATTER THE SITUATION!!!!! NOTHIN THAT IS WORTH A SHIT LASTS FOREVER!!!

  • ...And Bass For All !

  • 6:27 way too much bass

Good video though, bass is very low in justice

  • @Schuller95 They was dicks and made all the bass low on justice but I agree it can be held back a tad more on here but how it was on the album was non existant!

  • And justice for Jason?? wtf, jason left the band

  • @xxweaponsxx123 Jason lefth the band right, but he got problems with Hetfield and Ulrich

  • best intro of a song ever, their best song even, thumbs up if your bass mix is starting to touch weird 90's primus bass

  • this is how it should be

  • The bass does so much good to this song, hell, it's like listening to this album all over again like the first time

  • great to hear his bass but this isn't NEWSTED, it's METALLICA, a little too much

  • 0:56 to 1:08 makes me laugh at how ridiculous the drum patterns are, great though

  • 'This mix was not meant to be a proper mix of how loud the bass guitar SHOULD be on the album.'

lol why? This is exactly how the bass should be on the album.

  • and justice for jason

  • its interesting hearing what the bass is actually playing lol

  • How it should have been. I need to pull this CD back out.

  • ...And Justice for Jason

  • The best And Justice For All eveeeerrr!!!!

  • Yeah this actually is what a proper mix of the album would've sounded like if James and Lars weren't being dicks at the time

  • That doesn't sound like Jason's bass.

  • The last of the classic Metallica

  • @SSdownunder what you dont like death magnetic, u gotta be joking.

  • @hunterhearsthelmsy

Yeh! it's ok - better then the black, but ain't no classic

  • @SSdownunder well u r in minority dude,

  • /,,/

  • @mrCALLAMPON

    /,,/__/,,/ lol or /,,/_

  • I stopped sex for this!

  • Uploader says it isn't intended for how loud the bass should be on the album but for me this is exactly what the bass should be, the one issue I have with AJFA is the bass, the bass adds a lot of extra power to the music.

  • this is what is sounded like live outdoors....bass was much heavier....

  • @GallinaAlbiAzul.....Wait I thought thiis was porn???

  • i heard in a doucmentary that cliff burton wrote this whole song, and wrote most of the bass tracks for the and justice for all albulm, james says he regrets cutting the bass tracks down in this albulm.

  • @bsplastick Yeah. He was drunk as hell all the time and feeling messed up from losing Cliff and he took it out on James. They made up later on

  • So..f..fucking p..pp...powerful!!!

  • haha me too, i always watch porn than all of a sudden im listening to metallica stuff

  • fax me

  • what tunning is it in ? drop D ? D standard?

    i hope its E!!!

  • @FuckTechno66 E :)

  • @FuckTechno66 As far as I know, they never use drop-D.

    1:08 There's the E.

  • where can you get their songs with enhanced bass ?

  • wow listen to the original sound and then this. This is SO much better! The Bass makes the song ten times heavier and powerful!

  • My porn paused itself to watch this :P

  • I'm sure Jason has or will stumble across this and be like "FINALLY!!!"

  • This song used to drag on, but with the bass its FAR more entertaining than it was: it just doesn't seem like ten minutes anymore. Makes an already complex song moreso.

  • its better without a louder bass jep...

  • Makes James's comment about how he told Jason not to mimic the guitar parts seem like complete bullshit. Excuses for a hidden agenda

  • ...And justice for JASON!

  • We can only speculate about the reasons behind the lack of bass in this album. I personally always liked to think it was their homage to Cliff, as is the first album after his death... No Cliff, no bass...

  • @paolocito

As I read this album was produced in order to be listened on 80s car cassette players. Therefore they needed to increase high frequencies a lot and get rid of bass guitar. This sounds so much better in my opinion.

  • @chomsky983 hahaha way to not thinking about the future if that was the case!

Anyways, this sounds much better indeed!

  • Love hearing the Bass!!! Thanks for making this!

  • 6:22 actually gives me an eargasm

  • Thank you for this!!!! What Newsted really did on the album!!

  • now the bass is a bit too loud lol

  • ...and justice for JASON! Hellz Yeah!

  • they should remaster for sure! and james voice is terrible live. They should hang it up.

  • @atleastpretend

You're a dumbass. At least pretend to be smart.

  • Does anybody know exactly why they got rid of the bass in the first place? It sounds much better like this to me.

  • @AsaBay2

It was because of the death of Cliff. At least that's what Jason and the producer claimed.

James and the guys harassed Jason for the early 1½ years because they drank and didn't let their emotions from the death get out on other ways. So not having the bass of Cliff on the album was a deal breaker, hence they removed it.

Hope this info helped you :)

  • @Stinkbeaner It did, thanks :).

  • Thank you. Jason is such a master and a great bassist. Really added to their sound.

  • you could also enhance the guitars, the drums, or even het's growls.

or everything just turn the volume up xd

  • man this would be the best metallica album if it werent for the fucking piss poor production

  • And Justice for Jason, i love it. He deserves this, Jason was a beast! For me, the lineup with Jason on bass is the best that have been, but thats me :)

  • This definatly nice, but in my opinion the bass is a little too loud.

  • @Luukki123 He said in the description. It's not supposed to show how loud the bass SHOULD be, but rather to just let you hear what the bass actually sounds like. :)

  • The original mix sounds so thin in life-less in comparison. They should go back and find all the original tracks for this album and add some mids, and bass. This could be the one of Metallica's masterpieces.

  • jason was a treasure. i hope the will make a remastered version of this album on cd.

  • You are right admifus,it sounds a lot heavier and melodical with enhanced bass.Bringing out the talent Jason values.....

  • i like how you had to explain why the bass was to loud. just uploaded it and then disable comments

  • and justice for all those bass player covering this song wrong because they don't have tabs and can't hear the original bass line !!!!

  • fuck you james and lars... jason rocks!

  • how do you email metallica on the metallica website asking for them to issue remasters of their first 4 albums?

  • This is awesom guys. My ass is shaking :) Original studio version is worse. Metallica should do something with it back in 1988.

  • It sounds better. Lars must feel like a right dickhead for turning it down in the studio.

  • It makes them so much complete. Funky, almost. At moments it's Ellefson, and moments it's Claypool.

  • Wow this sounds so much better with Bass Guitar. Makes it sound thicker.

  • give it a sort Iron maiden feel

  • why the hell did Lars and James turn the bass down? it sounds fucking awesome!!!

  • @TVJKR Because they were a bunch of hazing douchebags that didn't want to give Jason a chance due to their mourning of Cliff Burton.

  • @TBoneMontana its meant to be too high, its to show you what the bass sounded like (seeming you can't hear it on the original)

  • and justice for jason!

  • live at seattle 89' it's so fuckin powerful ! >:P

  • well the bass is too high but it sounds great.

  • I paused my porn for this!

  • @GallinaAlbiAzul Thats sacrifice right there. Haha.

  • @GallinaAlbiAzul This is my porn..

  • @GhillieUpaTree Mine too.

    Lady Justice has been raped.

    Case in point.

  • I don't know why, but hearing Jasons basslines vamped up like this make me feel all tingley.

  • so much more powerful

  • this is awesome AND JUSTICE FOR JASON, it's only right!!

  • 1:05 the bass sounds so badarse

  • Ah, man, THIS IS GREAT!!

  • This is rad...thanks for posting it. This is the way it should sound, more or less.

  • they need to remaster this

  • awesome bass ffs

  • no wonder there is audience noise in the background, i hate rock band

  • man this is a sick song, and with this bass it's unreal. thanks for your work :)

  • yes yes yes damn right

  • This definitely adds some more complexity to AJFA. It sounds like Jason's part is way higher that I would have expected. If Cliff had written it, it may have been way lower and had more crazy fills. Just my opinion, of course. Nice to finally hear the bass line on this one.

  • the most forgotten Metallica song besides early covers of Sucking My Love is ESCAPE from Ride the Lightning. I have never heard or seen this song played live. The lyrical content is great in that song.

  • weve been told for too many years that Jason was a sub-par bass player. Listening to this, I have to say hes much better and more technically proficient than I ever thought. Its not world changing but some of his bass lines that were inaudible in the final mix really complement the songs complexity. It makes this album, one of my favorites for years, even more progressive. Listen to the bass line after the 2nd chorus and before the bridge. Very nice and tasteful playing.

  • Metallica is all about sounding Crunchy and aggressive, Jason gave Crunch, but they turned it down. One bad move, because this sounds so good.

  • i never thought lady justice could have been raped. shes lady justice ..... i mean who would rape her really
