  • The Amtrak section of tha station is like an airport you wait for the Pennsylvanian when its already there

  • I've seen one of these at Market East. pretty cool :)

  • They bought 7 cars from NJT to help with the overcrowding until the new Silverliner 5's arrive next year now.

  • did septa borrow some comet 4's and loco's from NJT because i actually saw a septa push pull set that had ten comet 4 cars and what looks like an ALP 44 on the R7 today but was in express service or was it deadheading to the yard or something????

  • @vze428s7 Running Service As Usual

  • awesome video!

  • GREAT!

Watch my videos from Isreal. THANKS!

  • Unbelievable !!! I can't get enough of these clips of trains arriving and departing. The suspense and excitement is through the roof. I'm always on the edge of my seat watching these. In fact that's all I do now. I lost my job, house and wife just because I sit all day and watch these.

  • They were both built and owned by PRR, so i'd suspect some continuity in the look.

  • wow this train station looks like newark penn station

  • You're right!

  • A lot of people have said that. The funny thing is, this part of 30th Street Station isn't even the main part where the Amtraks arrive. This area is only for SEPTA, although the Amtrak area is like New York Penn Station.

  • the main concourse is more like Grand Central

  • A bit. The ticket windows are in a different place and fewer in number, and there are no staircases at Grand Central, but the design of the main room itself is very similar (without the great ceiling)

  • Damn shame that the original Penn couldn't be preserved

  • Oh I know! The sketches and paintings I've seen of it are stunning. I can't believe the New Yorkers let that happen.

  • Hopefully they can revive that project to transform that old postal distribution center nearby into a new Penn Station - as far as I know the same architect did both buildings
