He needs to lower the air all the way to 8 psi and keep it in high gears and hit the pedal to metal. I own same car and have done Silver lake sand dunes many times. You just need to use it intelligently.
this car actual could do well off road but if you look they all come with road tires I have an W163 with all terrains and have pulled out my buddy with a jeep twice already, and in the snow my baby rocks, to go off road you need the right tires and yeah that guy was going a little slow for that sand hill and road tires don't help. and to the guy that said it was ugly let me guess ur just hating
he was driving it with full air pressure and didn't disable traction control, anyhow the car has a good wheelbase length for the task but i have never tried it :)
there are other things to count for. such as the air pressure in the tires and the size of the tires. You can go offroad with low profile tires like the ones they installed on this car.
they built these cars to be driven on the road, not off the road.
thats why.
the driver tried to climb this small hill few times before he quit.
You wish...it's not the car's fault that the driver was plainly useless...if driven well and given the right settings, I'm sure it would have done that bit easily.
Now, I do admit MB has changed some of its cars to please the US demands, and here is where the GL (not the G) comes in. This is what the US wants, that is what they get, just done a little better. And just if anybody asks, I am not a MB fan, but we currently own a G and GL, and the G is not like the GL, and it is certainly not a useless four wheel drive.
If you had some 4x4 culture you would know that there is a car that Steyr produced more than 30 years ago. It was called the Puch G. Later on Steyr was part of Mercedes Benz, and the Puch G was sold by MB under the Geländewagen name. Steyr has produced a hand full of incredible off road vehicles (including Tanks), but for example: the Pinzgauer. Many countries in Europe use this car as their main tactic vehicle. The same technology in a Pinzgauer can be found in a Mercedes G500 or G55 today.

I agree with that. the old G-wagons are lightyears better offroad than the new models. stupid cars compared to the rugged old ones
uglynakedguysailling 3 years ago
its because the driver is stupd he should go faster

its not a matter of going faster or slower.
