The high-security standard you are thinking of is UL437. It's not so much a disgrace; I believe the design principle of these cam locks is better than standard Medeco. The very secure Medeco ARX is really just stepping toward the cam lock in terms of the mechanism. In practice, though, the tolerances just don't hold up in the cam cylinders.
i have a lock like that with side bar, cannot pick it, does this one has a side bar? i don't think so. can you do it again but with a side view?Mine needs to be in the metal casing to be able to apply pressure on bar, i even tried to see how it works outside the casing, and i tell you man, that side bar will not go down with a pick
Just in time, a couple days before bump keys for this came out. There's video from this past DefCon (August 4 or 5th) of a 12 year old girl bumping a Medeco 6pin biaxial.
hey man , guess what? i picked my first medeco! i ran to my perma vault after watching your vis and got it open in about two minutes using the snake! :)

I have a 5-pin biaxial I can't ope yet, but I have 4-pin biaxial that I can pick and rake open rather easily. Go figure.

Just don't try to rake one, it can destroy them.

i dont know why people find side bars difficult. I can open any 5 pin medeco with side bars in about 20 seconds.
nice work Assassin, LEGEND.

Ok BTFORTYONE, I'll bite. Please post a video showing yourself opening a 5 pin Medeco with sidebar in about 20 seconds.

Absolutly right 8541, he doesn't even push one time in that direction!!!
Doesn't seem to be assembled properly!

Love to see you pick in person. Try one with the side bar next time.
8541devildog 4 years ago
the tension was quite light, then i bounced the tension towards the end as i rotated the pins.

That was an incredibly awesome job to pick it so readily, though.

thanks, take a look on ebay, sometimes get good deals on medecos.
americans are quite tough unless you get the tension right.
