  • wa? thats rotary?? what kinda exhust u got on that?

  • this sound makes me think of the sides of the rotor passing over the intake and exahsut, with every pulse.

  • i had an 87 n/a with the same issue. actually white smoke can be a multitude of things when it comes to a rotary. mine was bad apex seals. my car would shut off ass soon as i took my foot off the gas.

  • Someone needs a valve job, very soon!

  • @JoeythePope lol this engine has no valves you fool

  • Same thing happened to my red fc same car in the video... It was doing this a week after I accidentally overheated my car with no antifreeze in the radiator. A week later every time I warmed it up it blew white smoke like this even worse! Eventually 2 months later my motor died and now I had a new half bridge engine built for it and almost completed it!....conclusion it's internal (water seal) u need a new engine! Or rebuilt!

  • yea checkout my video our cars almost look the same, but i have the same problem and have tried alot of different things, i bought the car cuz the guy said it was a coolant leak , but further investigation shows that mines either oil or fuel (still dont know) , and it looks the same color as yours, but haha it does sound awesome untuned.

  • Your apex seals are gone

  • Rebuilt time ! :-(

  • looks like a coolant seal problem

  • dude i tink someone put smokeballs in ur car

  • looks like coolant seals may be the prob

  • Is it just me or anyone else hear the annoying as hell warning beeper going off in the car?

  • lol wiring issue lol

  • Nice sound, looks like you need a tune... but you probably know that already. what revs does that idle at?

  • in that video it was a ruff 800-1.2k then when i finished it was locked at like 1.3

  • wow, well ya its either baaad oil leak, or possible coolant leak

  • Not oil. I rebuild quad and bike engines. Whitis/grey smoke is from running lean or water which would be coolant. Black smoke is rich and blue smoke is oil.

  • From here that looks like grey smoke to me man. Might be running super rich. Check your compression though, might be a cracked/chipped apex seal, can cause grey/black smoke.

  • lol grey smoke is not running rich. And before anyone says it, I own the same car.

  • as do i, im having the same WHITE SMOKING problem, gets thicker as my car warms up or when i rev it

its fuckin' bullshit, i've replaced a coolant hose and still i get this problem, but its on and off, like my girlfriends period, im dying to sell it... (location:vegas)

  • if its turbo youv blown the seals.

  • its non-turbo, and what seals?

i'm pretty damn sure i've figured it out, but not certain

i think it cracked a coolant channel in the block

white smoke=burning coolant no doubt about it

i drained my radiator and filled it with WATER, hardly any smoke, still some coolant left in circulation that i couldn't drain from the block...

SOLUTION! go out and get "stop leak" for cracked radiators, run about 20 oz. through there and it should plug up the crack in the block.

  • non turbo?yes definately a worn water seal in the block. is this your caR?

also stop leak is probably the worst temporary fix you can get. it may plug up cracks etc, but be careful it can also start plugging up your water temp sensor, etc etc.

  • I think its a lot worse than a coolant hose man that smoking's oil from damaged seals how many k's does ur rx have they need to be rebuilt every 90 000ks or lees if theyve been thrashed...so yea get rid of that thing or get a fresh motor and hava mean rx

  • sounds awesome. what exhaust?

  • That was alot of smoke man, at least its white smoke. my rx just started makin blue smoke......

  • bridgeport.... either that or you are playing with the throttle.. jk my na is bridgeported and sounds like that

  • put a shirt on for christ sake

  • do all mazda rx7 1988 smoke when they start up...

  • no... but the 1988 models are known for flooding so if yours flood then you will see smoke when startup

  • Most fc's later in life flood. -_-

  • mine is, fuck... but i DID dilute my prediluted coolant AND im running low on oil...

    fuck.

  • bridge port ?

  • that sure dosent sound like a rotary engine

  • lol it is
