Glad they're back, but honestly, I wish they'd go back to the style of The Height of Callousness. They'll still always be my favorite band though, regardless.
@fanatical256 I like the change. Personally I also believe THe Height was their best sound but the guitars and vocals here are more interesting. Most other songs were just powerchords throughout the whole song, this is different with some actual shredding.
Because they pretty much abandoned all of their Nu Metal and Industrial Metal elements, and where the fuck are the synths and loops? Those were a huge part in SS's sound and they just completely abandoned them in this song.
Luckily, the song Anger Denial Acceptance sounds very much like the Spineshank we know, so I haven't given up all hope, but this song is pretty lackluster and doesn't really sound like Spineshank, it almost sounds like they are trying to be gay Metalcore and fit in with the shitty trends of today. I do like the song in general, but for Spineshank standards it's meh. It has a very good chorus though!
@xHybr1d this song sounds a little Metalcore-ish because it's a remake from "Last One standing", a song from Silent Civilian (Santos' metalcore band he had when SpineShank first split up)... i find it preetty great, Johnny's voice didnt lose any bright from Nü Metal's best days
@ryanstolar They are trying something completlly different. Let them grow a bit on this new turn. It's too early to judge yet imo. not to mention that a band HAS to grow, or atleast experiment in order to survive. So yes, I disagree on what ya said a full 100%
