  • great review!

  • 1 person is a twilight fan

  • I missed the days when credit was given to those who told the best stories. Now it's whoever is meeting corporate quotas. I'm so sick of these reboots. I'm really sick of seeing grown men in tights and green man suits. It's embarrassing. I'm tired of the fake abs.

  • I wish I could thumbs up this video 30-40 times.

  • ...also, Twilight is light-years better than that TRUE BLOOD horshe-sh*t! The acting is so bad on True Blood it makes Soap Opera actors look like Deniro and Hoffman... and, turning into an effing Collie?? Really? At least Twilight has Wolves!

  • I don't hold out any hopes for this, they never get these things right, just research the fuckin comics Hollywood, for example this new guy they have picked to play spiderman is way to much a pretty boy, Parker was a geek, so much so that no one would suspect him being spider-man, toby was perfect, but the films sucked, well the 1st one was good..

  • Point taken although they did pretty much do as you described with Batman Forever. Shame it wasn't a one-off but once the studios has gone so far as to create or re-create a franchise it's hard to resist making another installment... even if we get Batnipples & Robin. It's just he way the cookie bakes with these things.

As for the Spider-man reboot. It feels very cynical and adds to the bitterness that even in comic form, Peter Parker is never allowed to grow up and move away from highschool

  • twilight is a crock of shit. ugh ultimate spiderman was good in the beginning it just sucked towards the end. didnt like how bagely made spider-man look like freaking Harry Potter

  • I like your point

  • you look a lot like seth rogen

  • plus why would they try to please a generation that just doesnt give a shit about themselves?! o_0 sorry i just wanted to let that one out

  • don't worry about american comics being rebooted. The new thing is to snap up movie rights to japanese games and anime. I mean, the american ghost in the shell is going to be all action. the "writers" have actually said as much. So it'll basically be the major running around semi naked and shooting stuff with Batou having a scene with a heavy weapon and Togusa shooting something once (maybe). The american Akira looks just as true to its source material >_>

  • Honestly, I'm kind of glad it's getting the reboot without Raimi, though for other reasons than being a Spider-Man fan. Just means that Raimi (Probably screwing up his name) has more time on his hands for the Warcraft movie which has been overdue for a while now.

  • "The pen is blue...

    The pen is blue!

    THE GODDAMN PEN IS BLUE!!!"

Sorry, I just had to do that... xD

For a long time I'd never really cared about comic books or superheroes & that whole thing, but with movies like the new Batman(s) & Ironman, I'm starting to appreciate the whole superhero idea more. If they're done in a good way, like for Dark Knight, then they become good movies WITH the superhero theme, and not just random superhero movies.

And, yeah, Twilight is for teen girls... Yuck.

  • I agree, K. I'm not enthusiastic about the reboot of the Spider-Man movie franchise but I'll reserve judgment until more progress is made.

I also think that pandering to a particular niche like the Twilight crowd doesn't bode well. I'd rather see simply a well made movie with a well written story that can hold up on its own merits than be only good for a certain type of movie goer.

  • Yeah, I know what you mean.

  • @Guiltaur WTF does TWILIGHT have to do with the idiotic studio (who kept screwing with Sam Raimi & wouldn't let him create his vison) re-booting Spider-Man?

I've seen the Twilight movies and dug em fine. I'm 36. I wouldn't call a movie that makes 30 Mill dollars in 3 hours as having a "small niche" of a fan-base.

Sam Raimi did fine if he'd been left alone. He didn't want 3 villians. He didn't want to introduce Venom yet. He wanted to use The Vulture.

  • @supertenor - First of all, if you're going to respond to a comment of mine, well any comment at all, please display the common courtesy of actually reading and comprehending what was written before going on tirade of a post..

Now what exactly does Twilight have to do with the "idiotic studio" and its decisions? Nothing. If you read what I wrote, I was referring to the decision to reboot using a flavour of the moment teen favoured actor as the lead was in my view pandering to a (cont)

  • (cont) "particular niche". I don't know where you got "small niche" from what I wrote.

Getting back to the subject, my assertion is that the use of Zac Efron as the lead for the Spider-man reboot is based solely upon his name recognition and appeal specifically to a narrow portion of the movie viewing public, hence "niche". In that way, that's how it relates to Twilight as it is directed at a niche market. It's not for just anyone. You're a 36 year old person who enjoyed the (cont)

  • (cont) Twilight movies. Good for you. Twilight made "30 Mill dollars in 3 hours". That's fine and dandy. Just because you may or may not be in the particular demographic that Twilight aims for doesn't mean it isn't a niche movie/story series. Just because it made a significant profit in a short amount of time doesn't mean it's a quality product.

  • Now to be clear, I am not saying Twilight is or isn't a quality product. I am stating that the money something makes, in a short amount of time or not, doesn't equate to value or "quality".

If you're with me up to this point, great. If you're upset because I'm not praising Twilight or that my words could be perceived as a slight against Twilight, then the discussion is beyond salvaging.

  • Leave it to twilight to fuck up spider man. They need to make it good or not at all stop trying to please stuipid teenagers and please the true fans of marvel

  • Word

  • i gotta agree with the hulk reboot... THAT was a success... i cant see the twilight style spider man is gonna hit =/ have you ever seen those low budget fan made movies? maybe hollywood should take some note from watching those... my favorite one would have to be the batman vs. joker vs. aliens vs. predator skit... yeah i forgot the title of the flick but its awesome

  • Batman Dead End! I love that movie! I love the style of their batman, the gray tights comic book look.

  • to be honest i agree with the rebot/ remake of some films as it introduces a new generation of people to old films and series- doctor who being a good example. at the moment theres a culture of making sequels until the ratings drop off then they stop, when they should stop before that happens and just leave things until fans ask if they can make another. also in the ironman and hulk films they've opened up the avengers initiative so theres a film that could go wreck some good characters

  • I do agree that some reboots have been good, Doctor Who being a great example as well as the new Star Trek, but I'm just afraid that that's all they're going to rely on. And I'm worried about Team Super Hero movies as well. *Shudders*

  • @KPHM42 oh god, if we're not lucky DC might try a justice league movie if the avengers goes well at the box office :O

  • @spudracula yeah they already confirmed justice league and majority of the cast a while back, they are gonna completely recast them though instead of using each ones respective actor i.e. christian bale and esc.

it sounds likes its gonna majorly blow though :/
