  • @AIMERdaYA just plug in an ethernet cable to your computer.

  • It's a chick doing this boot video. Not a guy. Well by the looks of it. I saw nail polish on her finger nails.

  • Can you make a tutorial?

  • i never get thumbs up....... :'(

  • i have a toshiba satellite, i can triple boot in ubuntu alianware 7 and osx.. i cannot get any internet acces on mac.. it seems to just be a prblem with my settings, im not familiar with the apple os at all, any one know what i ceed to do?

  • I have the same thing but my original OS is windows 7 that I am running on my Studio XPS 16. I use ubuntu for speed. 7 for special apps and programs and gaming. OSX is also good for speed and I use it with my ipod.

  • hey, please write me how you do this. if i install refit and reboot 2 times. then i cant see an menu and my snow leopard dont boot anymore. Please help me, and forgive my bad english but im german.

  • if i got a mac it would be osx vista and ubuntu 9.10

  • @WakkoXtreme I'm pretty sure you can plug in just your external harddrive to the computer(or take really good note of the device name, and be sure to select it instead of other harddrives during install).. then just reboot and do regular ubuntu install pointing to the external harddrive/thumb drive... heres a pretty simple guide: ht tp : // bit . ly / OGQFZ (remove spaces)

I believe it's also possible to just extract the ISO to the drive.. but, maybe I'm thinking Damn Small Linux?

  • Nice Video. Does Ubuntu suck the life out of your Macbook Pro's battery? I have it installed on my Macbook and if I get an hour and a half I am lucky, I get about 3 hours on Snow Leopard.

P.S. I like Ubuntu more than I like Mac OS for some reason, the price is just right I guess.

  • @WakkoXtreme you can install ubuntu on an external hard drive or usb device.

  • I'm surprised how long it took to boot lucid lynx. Mine goes from off to desktop in about 30 seconds and my computers crap.. loading ubuntu screen only flashes for a second then goes strait to login. Celeron(R) 2.93GHz(no dual core this and that.)

Thought macbook pros were suppose to be fast.

  • @bumr055 Ubuntu boots in 27 seconds, as is written in the description. My boot menu configuration might increase the time that Ubuntu *appears* to take to boot.

  • @VGMoose hmm.. I guess i was just expecting twice as fast on a much faster computer but... i guess it's more the harddrive speed and not much processing going on, now that i think of it.

Toobad though,,, i really wanted to see ubuntu on someones computer boot up faster then a cellphone can turn on :P

  • @bumr055 Yeah well I have ubuntu lucid 10.4 amd64 and it takes 12 seconds to fully boot on my pc. (desktop xps410 dell) w 4GB RAM

and I believe it was half the price at least of those macbook lappys.

  • Groovy set up. And may I also say, excellent music choice.

  • Such a beautiful tribute to the poor Compaq Presario who lost its life in a tragic RAM incident.

We will miss you, Best Computer Ever.

  • I'm trying to dual-boot Mac OS X Leopard with a hacked install disk onto a PC. I need a second hard drive; I use Windows for everything and way too much.

    However, I'm dual-booting 7 and Lucid. They're both good.

  • what do you think of linux in general?
