Idina was the best Elphaba in my book, but Stephanie and Kerry follow right behind her for sure. They're all amazing.

they really should have put more of the dialouge on the CD....I know there isn't really THAT much missing from the CD in 'plot wise' but even the Arbiter's introduction bit after 'the story of chess' where he introduces both chess players and the real 'Floerence and Molokov' song would have been good on the CD...I think that's been pickey though isn't it?

I initially bought this DVD because of the song Anthem, which I learned through Josh's performance.. But oh my, was I blown away by the musical, I loved it! And yes, I agree about Adam Pascal. I had not heard of him before, but what a way to perform Pity the Child.. That last note is un-be-lie-va-ble!

Josh was such a nice man..I got the DVD from Ebay I think I was one of the first in the UK to own it! The Private viewing was amazing at BAFTA...So lucky to have been involved.

i'd say the dvd because of the visual, plus it does actually have an extra song which got edited off the cd. I have both because I got to the point where I wanted to hear it all the time. You could always go for the dvd and the highlights cd if you don't want the inbetweener songs

Personally, I'd say CD. That way you can upload onto your MP3 player and such. There are very few sections that are on the DVD that aren't on the CD, and since this is very much a concert and not a full-fledged musical, the emphasis is on the music and not on the acting (for example, Josh Groban, whose voice I loooove is at best an average actor). I have the DVD and I mostly just listen to it while having other things open on my computer screen and I never felt that I missed out on anything

I first learned of Josh Groban when he played a HS studen on Ally McBeal FOREVER ago. He was adorable then, and his voice astounded me. I've been a fan ever since.

The whole thing was great, but I sorta wished that "Merona, Merona!" song with the chorus was a little shorter. It was a good song, but very long.... the story was awesome, but sad.

It's "Merano," after the city in Italy. The song provides the setting for most of the first act. Even though it may have seemed long, the chorus redeemed itself with the cheesy (but entertaining) choreography.

My family and I had the pleasure of being at the show on the 13th last year. Two sold-out performances, and I'm just sorry we didn't go to both. And being at the historic Royal Albert Hall was the icing on the cake.

Those of you that watch it will love it. A lot of energy, great, great music, and the performers are among the most prestigious this country has to offer.
