  • This song's such a downer, and I love it.

  • check the silver jews version

  • the 4 people who dont like this band are filthy bastards.

  • @littlepeakish It's just that for most people, who would listen to mainstream stuff, a band is mainly judged by the vocals alone, not as how the vocals fit in with the entire band setup... While the rest of us appreciate the band as whole... I heard about pavement so late yet like their tunes

  • my video for this is way better : watch?v=idFdC1dORok

  • I think I prefer the Silver Jews version. Fantastic either way though.

  • These guys harness noise like no-one else... well, except Sonic Youth.

  • Miley Cyrus brought me here! Thumbs up if you agree ect

  • @D4zza What miley cyrus wtf? She sucks!

  • this is the tune you listen to while youre sittin around with your buds smoking after a weird and long night

  • mercurial and yet so saturnine but utter, utter genius

  • @sackeandsugar

lol i think that is the wankiest thing i have ever read myself say

  • @sackeandsugar your post was prognathus and yet so pulchritudinous but utter, utter wankery :p

  • this tune is completely messed up and beautiful

  • 'not as good as the first EP'? I BEG TO DIFFER, MASTER MALKMUSSSS

  • jonas brothers rock!

  • imo, this is when pavement were at their zenith; everything from this period, just before gary left, is priceless. later pavement is fantastic too but more "classic rock."

  • it's so funny how whenever somebody disses the jonas brothers and silly popstars they get so many thumbs up, ha, ya i know I'm probably on of those people who have given them thumbs up too, I wouldn't give this comment any thumbs though

  • @JR1840 I'll give you a thumb for insight, bro.

  • substance

  • frucking love this song

    it is just indescribably amazing

  • Beautiful melancholy

  • @Insolution55 I'm with you mate, I bet those people don't even listen to music any more, they probably think they've grown out of it and its because they never got it in the first place!

  • @Insolution55 nothing wrong with 2 unlimited

  • malkmus as a joo still wrote it

  • its true dates have ben anounced for central park sumer stage

  • something just occurred to me, people - while the other milions and millions of braindead wankers are looking up Miley Cyrus and the jonas fags etc, the other 11,598 REAL music lovers are here! lol.

  • @LennonMorrissey

Are you suggesting that fags aren't allowed to like Pavement?

    You definitely are.

  • @SupperOfTheMightyOne thats not what he said at all. he said 'the jones fags', hes just insulting the jones brothers, and dont get into some huge argument about the word 'fag', its only a word.

  • @FuttBucker667

You do realize I was joking....

  • @SupperOfTheMightyOne well its pretty obvious i didnt

  • @FuttBucker667

    Well, you do now.

  • @LennonMorrissey everyone that gave this the thumbs up should be ashamed.

  • @IncoherentCommenter Yeah, that's embarrassing to see.

  • Speaking of the billboard top 40s.. Id rather die knowing that i put out a great record that people will be researching and listening to 30 years later, and also would be a great inspiration. Forget the money.

  • THEY are REUNITING!

  • seri-fucking-isly? you can't joke about that shit man.

  • I'm not shitting around. But they're only doing shows in the US.

  • This is a Silver Jews cover.

  • some damn fine quality pavement here.

    RIP John peel.

  • Pavement was the most "under-rated" band of their era. Then again, their lack of "BB Top 40'ness" makes them all the better. Malkmus is still doing great, innovative things ...The Jicks & Bonnaroo were testament to that. ;) IMO

  • How the hell can you say Pavement is underrated? If anything they get too much credit. Not to say that I don't like them, that I do, but their music is seriously blown out of proportion. I just don't see what they were doing that, say, Guided By Voices, wasn't.

  • lol wtf? Too much credit? do you even know the definition of underrated you dumfuck? seriously just shut the fuck up

  • @HitaroX Lmao calm the fuck down. Personally I see Pavement as being overrated by the "indie" community who see them as this revolutionary band who made completely untouchable music. I enjoy they're music, but they're not much more than an updated version of The Fall to me. I can see you disagree.

  • This is not, nor ever was the fall. The fall never got here. They could never just walk into a studio and drop a record as if it was a 11-month old fetus like pavement did.

  • @baloonfighters Different strokes. I'd listen to the Fall over these guys any day.

  • thank you

  • @johanthepirate Theres hardly anything after Crooked Rain that really sounds like The Fall

  • @jKoch219 Probably true, but the general consensus is that their best material was on their first two records, and personally, I think they sounded better when they did sound like the Fall. Maybe I'll just have to try listening to Wowee Zowee again.

  • Wowee Zowee has the best 'yeah whatever we sound like the Fall' moment in Pavement History: Fight This Generation.

  • THE FALL???are u fucking kidding me!!!!!!!!!!!!!NEVER COMPARE PAVEMENT TO THE FALL!

  • johanthemoronwhoknowsnothingaboutmusic

  • @Drtano Clever.

  • pavement=good

  • i hate when people compare pavement to sonic youth...yes they are BOTH insanely inovative, Unique and experimental but Pavement is more pop and alt oreinted why sonic youth is just...sonic youth....Pavement is amazing. put more songs up!

  • so sad. yet so damn good. that piano...legendary

  • This song kicks the shit out of all "rock" bands today. Can they ever get past the pure beauty of Pavement?

  • Just my opinion- but I reckon Seafodd ("Paper Crown King" and "When Do We Start Fighting" albums) are close to it.

    I prefer Seafood though.

  • Oh your so so Right on that this one song blows every singal thing i hear today.........Oh lord music sucks today,I cannot understand how this shite I hear today is selling. Pavement has been one of my favs through out the 90's they still have a high vote in my books and I guess always will.

    CHEERS

  • @s7rugg1es theres lots of good rock bands today, Lesbian acrobat, Woodhead, modest mouse

  • you get 5 stars just for the song and because pavement is so fuckin cool. the video of the live version might be better though

  • This is the live version. It's from a John Peel session they did.

  • this is just the audio. there is an actual video of a live performance that is even better.

  • Legendary, first heard this on John Peel and then finally tracked it down on this special ed CD.

Good really as the first copy of slanted was worn out.

  • 5 stars like you asked

  • This isnt a 1 star song, i guarantee you :)
