Your blowing dust particles everywhere inside ur box genius...Regardless if you have fans blowing out as well your heat sinks are going to keep collecting dust and eventually accumulate enough dust to create a blanket and eventually over heat. In my opinion its a bad idea facing the fans to blow in.

i decided to open up the xbox... for some cooling ideas... there is a place that is perfect. to put a, hole right in front of the main heat sink in the perfect spot...just above the power switch..the only area inside that isn't covered up by something... and the wire mesh on the inside even sits low like there was meant to be an air vent there in the first place...and you only have to cut out some plastic because the holes in the metal are already there

@DkWowN3rd You could cut up any usb device and cut off the end of the fan and attatch the red and black wires up and plug the usb into the back of the xbox.

Im not the guy who made the video but those look like 80mm fans. These are really cheap you can get some coll LED ones for around 5 bucks(at bestbuy, or if you live by a FRYs electronics, thats cheaper, or online). The only problem is that you have to figure out a way to power them because they are designed for computers. It easy just look up computer fan mod( on youtube, of course) and you can figure it out i just did it for my 360 and it only took me like 10min.

Well, it does look ugly because it has the fans on the outside, but anyone can do this simple mod. I honestly would have put them on the inside, but whatever, it still does what it's supposed to.

He's pushing more air in to cool down his GPU and CPU chips. The vent on the right is the bigger one the 360 has available, so, putting fans there helps with cooling a lot.

Dont say nothing bad about someone without understanding the reasoning. It doesn't look pretty, but it works.

i modded my 360, with a fan, i cut a hole on the top (i got a xbox elite) over the heat sync. you can belive what you want, but the two back fans are not working as nearly as hard as they use to.

they use to rev when playing a game. and now all i can hear is my cd drive reading the disc. trust me its a big difference x

Seems like the most logical cooling mod yet. No need to cut a hole in the top. You draw cool air in from an existing vent.

My 360 is presently is presently wihout any of its cosmetic plastic. I had disc error problem so I took it apart and replaced the DVD drive. While I have it apart I'm thinking about doing some sort of cooling mod. WIthout the metal cover and any plastic it's running nice and cool. I can leave my hand on the CPU's heat sink. It's very warm but not hot.

Sorry about the delay. If you mean by "flashing" did I have to remove the smaller PC board? Yes. I removed the PC board from my non working DVD drive and installed it in the new DVD drive. It works great. All it cost me was $30.50 including shipping. It's a lot better than shipping the console to XBOX or having to buy a new console.
