I was told to put the dogs vest on, or a special pack or collar so that they know that they are going to work, is this not a good idea? also I have a corner lot that people go by and pet her, what should I do about that? only worry about it if she is "serving' me or "training" while we are out doors? or should there be an end to it? she really enjoys the extra attention, but it is not good if she ignores me and goes run to the fence.
WOW--these are all such awesome videos you've posted! So informative! I've never had a dog before, and my husband and I are planning on getting a mini schnauzer puppy in about a month, and dog training is such a mysterious unknown realm I've never explored before--these videos really helped de-mystify dog training for me! Thanks so much! =D
Thank you for this video! I am just learning about clicker training and trying to learn the basics of when to click, how to reward etc. and this was very helpful. Thank You!
hello... i used the rapid fire reinforcement to make my miniature schnauzer focus on the game(the training only lasted for 1 or 2 mins, then he ran away), but seems it didnt work well.. it is not so easy to get him to concentrate :S
I would suggest using the "Give me a Break Game" from Leslie McDevitt's Control Unleashed" Book. The rapid fire is for short bursts of attention, not increasing duration. You can also use the 300 Peck Method and Zen (Sue Ailsby) as seen on my blog to increase self control.
This is an awesome video for anyone getting started in clicker training(Or even people with experience who need to take some steps backward in their teachings to build that special bond)! 5*'s
Thanks! I tried to keep it short and didn't want to divide it into 2 videos.Try pressing the pause button as you watch. Then you can take as long as you need to read! Enjoy!
What a gift you are offering! Thank you so much for your generous sharing of knowledge and skills. I use your videos to help my volunteers learn skills to work with our shelter dogs. I'm grateful.

I love this video. I like to pause it so that I can really absorb the points you make instead of just passively watch.
Great Job, Donna and Jessie!
