pls respond to me....can i use my MPD26 pads to triger chord's ..(i mean 1 pad Am..2pad Dm..and so on...)...i know i can...but.....my question is...how can i put a midi out put to trigger chord's for Kontact for example...? and is there a way to assaing a desiered chord for specific pad...? and also i have a problem with midi learn thing ..every time i load sampla i need to reassing every pad.....
Are you able to trigger the pads via the keyboard, as michkie77gmailcom asked? I didn't understand what the user was asking, so I thought maybe asking it again in a different way would help? I'd like to be able to map each pad to a key on a regular PC keyboard. Is that possible?
hey i have playing some of the loop in sampla and is cool. now my question is i have playing a loop in the key of (A -note) but when i play in the key of ( E-note) it play into a different loop sound ! now how can i play that loop in the key of ( A-note) make it in to the full RANGE KEY? i mean make it into a full range of any key it will get me the loop sound i want in the key of (A -loop sound)?thanks
could u help me out?i jus got a padkontrol and sampla,i have no idea on how to use it.when i hit one the pads i dont hear any noise.i would appreciate it if u would tell me or show me how to do it
OK I got Sampla and I don't think u should - here's why …1 big thing - you can't sample while using as a plugin in your DAW. So in order to function as if you had an akai mpc on a bus off of a mixer that you could send ANYTHING to at any time, you have to go through some VERY TEDIOUS workarounds involving additional software (i.e. soundflower/on a mac) to make this happen - NI Maschine AND MOTU's BPM can record samples in standalone AND PLUGIN MODES.
So with MOTU's BPM and Native Instrument's Maschine, there's no need to take 5 (or much more) from your daw application during your creative workflow and have a headache thinking of how the hell your going to route track/channel xyz's output into a pad. Some of us like / need options like this - with Sampla, be prepared to take a BIG hit if you need connivence that the MPC era of drum machine / samplers brought about.
Here's another gripe, and there's a video that the Sonivox guys posted to back me up. With sampla you as soon as you hit the 'record' to sample (WHICH U again can't do in plugin mode), you're forcefully prompted w/ a dialog asking where on the HD to save the recording. The sample is then recorded to the file, but you have to click a pad, to MANUALLY LOAD THE SAMPLE YOU JUST RECORDED!…. The timing of these OS driven 'save' and 'open' dialogs ARE A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT.
You're burdened w/ saving to HD before even recording and playing back for satisfaction. Then you're click clacking w/ the mouse to load the sample! You should be able to set your threshold, select a pad/key, hit record, hit stop, and voila! Sample is in the pad! I can understand a prompt popping up when you hit stop AFTER recording the sample with options for (audition recording/cancel recording/save recording to HD)…Stopping the workflow AT THAT TIME w/ THESE OPTIONS is understandable.
When you hit record on say, an mpc, you're given a play/keep/cancel option. Hit play for a quick listen to make sure you're satisfied. Hit keep and you're presented w/ an option to assign it to a pad and keep things rolling creatively. Hit cancel and…ditto, but the sample is gone and you can immediately record again - So the process here is very rapid fire - samples are held in ram, assigned to pads on the fly at your will, and saved individually or w/ programs when you want.
This looks great..the Automap alone is worth the money. However, the lack of multiple stereo outputs is a huge shortcoming...No one in their right mind would route Kick, snare, hats to the same stereo track in a VST host...Until this is added I will not purchase.
@mistaox ouch. . I hope that isn't true! But Sonivox hasn't responded so I'm guessing it is. YOU GOTTA be able to route at those pads to 16 individual outputs. At the very least 4 individual outs. .(1 per row). Else banging out a drum track on Sampla would be a nightmare to mix, with snare, kick, hats, all on one channel. Terrible. You'd have to play out each part of the beat individually, which discourages any performance (i.e. more than one finger) you may do yourself.
My mistake - as shown in the video, you're prompted with a save sample as dialogue when you hit the record button, but after that, I'd like to see have the option to to record directly to the selected pad
It would have been nice to have the option to sample directly to a somehow selected pad (saving the file "in the background") I often just want to record and trigger on the fly without going through any dialog box import sample process. I just want to sample to a pad. Perhaps you guys could have an option to setup a default "recordings" folder or....... prompt the user where the recording should be saved when the record button is hi. Either way. Right after recording, I want to trigger.
To some it won't matter - to me it soes. My suggestion seems more in line w/ the workflow of the hardware devices that sample is in a way trying to emulate. BPM and NI Maschine alow for recording Straight to pad - Boom Boom. Not, Boom - dialogue - click clack - Boom. - LOL
THANKS!!!! It has a tempo sync delay that you could set to emulate a verb if you wanted to. We opted not to have a dedicated reverb as we figured people would want to do that with their other dedicated plugs.
It comes with over 200 preset instruments and 3.5gigs of samples you can manipulate as you wish.
Is there an auto-slice function which will snap to transients to make the slices or do the slices have to be set manually (with start and end markers) as shown in the video?
Yes it does do the cool chord thingy! :) It is even cooler considering you can make your own patches and do layering. So hypothetically your chord could layer all sorts of stuff or you could make splits that has say a bass as your root of the chord and lead instruments for the rest.

We considered an auto-slice function but figured users would have to tweak them anyway, so we stuck with the manual slice mode.....
