Most people are dumbed down, brainwashed followers who are under the illusion that they are informed and that real trouble will never reach their doorstep. They have too much faith in the corporate owned media.

The sheep would likely require a strong and charismatic leader to wake up, unite, and motivate them to stand up and take action. They need someone to give them courage, and someone to make all the hard decisions for them. There is no such leader now.

Also, if such a leader ever was to emerge, you have to imagine that he or she would be silenced (one way or the other) as quickly as possible. We see how quickly government and media moves to silence dissent (I'm speaking for the US anyway), and we have seen more and more limits put on 'free speech' in recent years.
