They Fight against 3 Giant robots like this one in the game, R7037, R7308 and R7308XX. But they don't fight "man to man" just like this They uses a battle tank, and another giant robot named EVE. And from the roof of the twinkle elementary school, you can see the Mt. Itoi in the Background.

No, they're outside of Mt. Itoi, ready for the final battle, with the ominous clouds over the mountain (kinda like Death Mountain from Zelda). And MOTHER, despite the pacing and grinding, has a very good story and isn't considered shit to me. But I do respect your opinion (to each his own), as I don't care for games everyone likes (example, to me, Madden sucks.) :P

I'll admit that it had a good, maybe even great storyline, but as an RPG, it failed on a number of levels and was nowhere near as good as Earthbound. The Blind Idiot God boss fight at the end makes my skin crawl with terror, and the music is almost Suikoden quality.

Goddamn, did Nintendo release Earthbound on the Virtual Console yet? They need to get on that.
