Hmm... I gotta say, your argument that a scroll with any arabic text written on it is a representation of the Qur'an is a bit much....I'd say you're really reaching. Unless you can prove that it has quotes from the Qur'an on it, there's really nothing wrong with Genie rubbing his ass against it! Arabic is a language, in which any word or phrase can be written. Just because the Qur'an was revealed in Arabic doesn't mean one must treat anything written in Arabic as if it's holy.

Why target a specific book when you can target the entire language or culture?

If that is indeed Arabic writing (I don't know, I don't read it), then Disney chose that specific language for a reason. I've seen many cartoons where they use random lines and squiggles that don't actually mean anything. Rubbing his ass with the Arabic language is symbolic. I'm muslimah revert of 5 years and grew up watching Aladdin also. And i never got hate from it either. I think that adults can pick out these subliminal messages because we have knowledge in this area. But children only know surface when it comes to these cartoons. Even subliminal, sometimes children still dont make the connection even later as the grow up.It's kind of like saying because we watched bugs bunny/road runner we all believe we cant die, and this is not true.

I've been trying to find out what was wrong with aladdin, it's not as obvious as the other disney films but I understand it now. In a way it is obvious... but only if you actually think about it.

This is a good video, the last scroll part was incredible how it slipped my mind watching it as a kid. However for the begining points keep in mind that chopping off hands for stealing is still openly practised in Saudi Arabia and is Shariaa Law, so its just telling it how it is.

Maybe I can't argue about the bias against Arabs but even the media says that most Muslims aren't even Arabs. Therefore, villainizing them does not affect Islam at all, only the culture of Arabs.
