@mathiaskobel No, they are not. This one had just left its station stop. Besides, it is going through a residential area where the speed limit is low.
I don't care what the people say about the quiet zones, there should be a MANDATORY law stating that ALL trains, freight and passenger trains HAVE to blow their horns, and if I were an engineer on either a frieght or a passenger train, I'd blow my horn if my train was going through a quiet zone, I'd break the rule about a train going through a quiet zone, I wouldn't care if it did bother the people living where the trains travel through, I'd still break the rule anyway.
I prefer hearing the horn blowing at the crossings, it should be manditory that the engineer blow the horn at ALL railroad crossings, that's my opinion though.
The reason why anyone who bought a house near the mainline paid a lower price is the fact the mainline is there. If trains didn't have horns, those houses wouldn't be so cheap.
Quiet zones -- unh-uh. They bought cheaper land-value houses, now, IMHO, they should live with the trade-off.
Unfortunately these are the times we live in. Quiet Zones have become the norm in many communities across the U.S. Never mind that often times the railroad was there first and never mind that people still get killed at grade crossing designated as quiet zones. Even with 2 gates on both sides of the tracks, there are still "brainless clods" that think they'll beat the train. My once strong, beloved USA seems to be getting dumber and dumber year after year.
No way!!!! You got the same BNSF car as I did!!!! Hard core to the bone!!!! Not shure if the other BNSF cars in this vid are the ones that I got in my vid. Also is this area like a quiet zone where trains are not to blow their horns? 5 star vid!
It is a quiet zone but yet they have loud ding'ing bells, those people who want quiet zones just do not think. Luckly for me since I live near wide open desert there are no quiet zones and they are as loud as they want with the horn.
Are all american trains that slow?

I like your opinion. Sadly, not everyone else does...

Everyone I talk to agrees on this:
The reason why anyone who bought a house near the mainline paid a lower price is the fact the mainline is there. If trains didn't have horns, those houses wouldn't be so cheap.
Quiet zones -- unh-uh. They bought cheaper land-value houses, now, IMHO, they should live with the trade-off.
Sad, but true.
Good video, by the way. :)

Yep, quiet zone. :( I hate it, too! Sometimes, if we get away from the houses a little, they'll blow their horns for us.
