In another case, a principal (an administrator, I admit) spanked an 8 yo student with a purse strap (to an extent his caregiver took him to the ER). A real problem was IL had abolished corporal punishment in public schools ten or so years before. She *was* fired. However, the states attorney chose to charge her with nothing. She may well be busting up kids in some Southern state as I speak.
More recently, a coach slapped a student at school. That's aggravated battery (a felony) because it was on public property. It was also a felony called official misconduct. She *was* charged with ag bat. But the jury had a bad day (we'll say) returned verdicts of guilty to both the felony and the misdemeanor. The judge should have vacated the misdemeanor conviction. But he used a goofy construction of the statute to vacate the felony instead, which allowed her to keep teaching.
Come to think of it, by these standards, teachers might well be classed as part of the privileged elite. On another TYT video, I already told the story of how in high school (which was, I admit now a lot of years ago) shoved and slapped a kid in front of many adult and student witnesses and got nothing more than a note in his file. I also was able to overhear him discuss it with another teacher, and he had no regret about the incident at all.
I love how these Republicans tell the middle class what need and what they cant have. Like for instance good affordable Healthcare, benefits for workers rights and compensation, better schools and education and etc. While they stuff there faces with thes beneftis there telling us you dont want it and you dont need it

I am pretty sure my mom is a public union member because of an Alzheimer's patient she cares for that the state overlooks the care of. WTF? My mom doesn't make enough to pay her heating bill. Teachers are well paid and more money has been spent year after year with no increase in student achievement. More money isn't the answer and that's the point. What are the solutions that this guy would propose and other left leaning people? More money, that has already been tried. Time to come up with real solutions and not more of the same failed ideas.

I am pretty sure my mom is a public union member because of an Alzheimer's patient she cares for that the state overlooks the care of. WTF? My mom doesn't make enough to pay her heating bill. At times due to paperwork or slow payment by the family she didn't get paid for a pay period or two so no rent money and had to keep working or be charged with a crime of patient neglect. Yeah, so elite - borrow money for your rent and keep working or go to jail while we don't pay you.

It's sad to see USA slowly destroy itself. Here in Holland, the rich are also too powerful, but it's not (yet) as extreme as over there. We bailed out our own 'wall street' and now, the retirement age is being raised. Executives and lobbyists make millions, while workers struggle. However, as of yet, we still have a public health security option, semi-decent social security, strong unions and somewhat balanced leftwing and rightwing media.
