  • in 2000 years maybe some one will hear this on a distant planet orbiting a friendly sun and think maybe what we had was worth saving but i fear we will be gone.

  • Omg. Elegant music.

I remember buying there CD album back in the day. Such bliss. Chillout music.

    Why chillout music?

Well to listen to after all the drugs we had taken.

Thats how Chillout music was born.

  • i so love this track just puts a smile on my face every time i hear it

  • classic =)

  • Soooooooooooooo good. Adamwilly - maybe it's a bit pointless / inappropriate to ask 'where did it all go wrong' when you happen to come across one of the best cuts ever made. I knew in the early 90s on hearing this, hearing the Steve Reich music samples, and so on, brilliantly done, it is a timeless classic, an amazin, wonderful piece, and the vid is wonderful also.

  • Does anyone know where you can find the video of Reading Rainbow that this was taken from?

  • Its not from Reading Rainbow. That's just a myth. It's commentary from one of her CD's I believe.

  • Cool video !

  • i heard this for the first time at a mall a couple of weeks ago, and i thought it was kind of scary. i remembered some of the words i heard in it, so when i got home i googled it and i found the song again. after listened to it some more i realise that it is not scary, it's awesome.

  • I use to listen to this before there was a thing called trance. It was originally released in July 1990 on the record label Big Life and peaked at #87 on the UK Singles Chart. The Orb also included it on their 1991 double album The Orb's Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld. "Little Fluffy Clouds" was re-released several times with different b-sides, with its 1993 re-release reaching #10 in the UK.

  • this song makes me incredibly happy inside and makes me think of my childhood and how much fun i had with my friends just watching the clouds in the sky in the summer and now having a care in the world, the song its a little bit cheesy in its own right but its just amazing.

  • I feel like going to lidl now ;D

Great song, great artist, great album. Gonna be seeing them at Willowman this year!

  • Yep, there's chemtrails in the sky now

  • That's the truth brother!!

    Sweeeet tune :)

  • so oldschool, love this song. I would love to take a roadtrip through Arizona just for the skies at sunset and at night.

  • little lit lit lit lit lit little little lit lit lit lit lit little little

  • overload here is a trollicious comment for you...you prolly dont get laid very much..cuz your pretty nerdy man

  • Had the album ages, great!

  • this shit takes me back to my rave and chill out days back in 96. the 90s were such an awesome time for me. i hate the 00s or whatever you want to call them. i need to go find a delorean.

  • @lowsten where did it all go wrong???(urban bling bollox 2 blame if ya ask me)...for a short moment we got the 60's back with early 90's rave culture....but the "love" was much more intense this time round (chemicaly induced or otherwise)wudnt surprise me if the empty materialism of urban was purposely thrust upon us by the record companys in retaliation to our new found free love, rip to the 90's rave dayz n chillout mornings!!

  • it follows a pattern. Free thinkers create a new scene, gangsters see money in the scene and move in, police react, government legislates and finally corporations move in to mop up the money.

  • this track is about 20 years old ;-)

  • Electronic music usually survives the test of time. Rap/Hiphop is continually having to reinvent itself because it's faddish. Funny thing is that most modern pop music could almost be considered techno. Compare mid 90's pop to today...

  • I really wouldn't bother, it might screw you up too much putting up with what the big sellers are today, just to find out. While there was always rubbish in the charts, in the 80s and 90s, there was also a reasonable amount of good quality popular music. I don't really think that's the case anymore, other than the (very) odd track here and there which is good.

  • the orb was wayyy ahead of there time. amazing track

  • Love it :)

  • You need some help. This is amazingly good, just relax, sit back and sink into it.

Dont fight it, feel it ;)

    (or get high!)

  • nah its pretty shit :)

  • @chicanutta dude can you "feel" music too (that tingling brain massage that starts in yer head n goes down yer spine making yer body glow??????)...i call it "surfing soundwaves"......feels gooooooooooooooood!!!

  • @kaiandseanrule Duuuudeeeeee. Are you joking?

Listen to Jean Michel Jarre... so good. Oxygene is my fav.

  • ...Toxygene

  • i cant see you comment but -9 is good enough for me - 10 now :)

  • then die

  • One of the greatest tracks of all time. Infinitely relistenable.

  • triiiiiiippy

  • This song is so amazing! one of my favorite songs of all time grew up listening to this my dad showed me it and i loved it from the 1st time i heard it! may not be that old but old enough to tell a classic from a bad song......lol ^^ <3 THE ORB <3 and i agree asdop fails...... lol

  • asdop fails at trolling. leave now; whilst you still can!

  • whats a troll ?

  • @octagon79

scary that trolling is becoming an accepted phenomenon :P

  • TBH i do it myself. but i only annoy people with a shit(opinion) taste in music. most of us orb fans are too mellow to annoy!

  • i think it has always been scary that people can act stupid without repercussions. this is why i troll

  • excuse my ignorance:whats "trolling"??

  • @GirlsLie7

its like Knoming with your top off.

  • Trolling is what everybody does on here, whether it's videos, ytusers, or comments. Everyone does it, but 'self-opinionated' people use it as a term of abuse when they do very same thing themselves. How could anyoune find anything on yt without trolling through it

  • Trolling is when someone replies in such a way so as to cause many comments/forum posts. Usually this person, the 'Troll', will fuel the comments/forum posts to keep them going. The term is often thrown around by people who don't really understand it.

  • Thanks for proving my point. Case closed. I win your honour

  • You're a fucking idiot, and you lose hard enough to never win again. Your comment is trolllicious, and by replying to THIS comment, you proclaim that you are a homo.

  • You lose again and have fallen once again into your own laws of ineptitude. It's no fault of you's, it's just the way you were born

  • So, I take it that you are a homo...

  • I want to be a little fluffy cloud!

  • @pe4cefrog well im afraid u cant be !

    asshole !

  • im sure this is from a film but i dont now wat it was can anyone help me out? good song too!

  • @mrjlom its from Sanohara Yukomishis short film'Katskope Atchuokley Opus 7 [Skywipe]' hope this resolves your problem.

  • ta man its been buggin me for ages!

  • Nice song, really a old classic, one of the first electronic songs i heard that made my explore more of similiar music.Very nice stuff. All you who like this will probably like the songs on my page,it can be worth checking out : )

  • great track!!!!

  • asdop you fucking cunt

  • It IS a pattern from Steve Reich's "Electric Counterpoint".

  • there is something from Steve Reich in this track...

  • this is one of those cuts that always lifts my mood

  • she wasnt coked up she had a cold.

  • @octagon79

she was either in an altered state or not so bright. enchanting anyhow.

I always imagine this as a recording of how a young chick responds to questions on a first date.

  • its rickie lee jones and she just had a cold. look it up. and besides, i know people who look and sound stoned but are are neither stoned nor stupid. me being one of them. lol

  • @octagon79 yeah thats true, dumb might be too harsh. She still sounds young and spacey. I got friends that sound stoned and aren't so I see your point!

replying again was a good excuse to listen to song again. I have it on my speed cubing playlist.

  • @octagon79 shhhhhh

  • great! her nose is sooo coked up! lol! great moozic

  • OMFG this song brings back memories!!!

  • What a tune.

  • I had this on cassette back in the day...

  • classic track

  • Steve Reich - Electric Counterpoint !!!

  • her voice is so chilled, would like to meet someone who sounded like this.

  • bet u would ya fuckin pervert !

  • who rattled your cage, go and take some pills. Sounds like you need em, ya grumpy wee scrote.

  • Sounds a little bit like she's ill, it has a slight nasal tone to it.

  • Rickie Lee Jones!

  • Im on acid right now and this song is amazing to say the least

  • @hustlin80sahabit420 With a youtube name like yours, i ain't surprised.

  • Acid!!? That is still being made!!!? Where!!!?

  • @jessenuf on mars

  • @ jessenuf: AFX makes Acid. Check out, track like Where's Your Girlfriend and Crying In Your Face.

  • The prepared mind can trip out with just alcohol. ^.^

  • @herrbdog teach my mind to be prepared master :)

  • Probably, Herrbdog, but y bother ?

  • Fly Ageric, or Liberty caps brewed and strained through your mates sock go REALLY well with this track.

  • why your mate's sock, why not your own?

  • I loved this when I used to trip out in my youth. Cosy. Magical.

  • @brack909 I knew I wasn't alone!

  • Funny. I thought was just clever editing to a silly conspiracy video on contrails/chemtrails. The tune was so catchy, I had to find it again. No wonder it is such an iconic tune. Lol.

  • Baking..

  • im bakin at the mo too

  • Wow I love this! Had a CD "Pure Moods" I think back in the late 90's. Can't remember where that CD ended up but have missed this song since.

  • Love this.

  • this music gives me this inspiration that the Boards od Canada was inspired by The Orb. AMBIENTS!!!

  • Wow. My friend Muri would love this - she's a big fan of Steve Reich and Pat Metheny

  • longing for the day when youtube can pass a good audio quality test.

  • I had heard they were sued over the use of her voice. I like Rickie too but, it makes the song all the better. Check out the Negativeland/U2 single. It was a dog named snuggles.

  • god almighty, the memories this provokes. babes. mortal combat. hash. stoned mortal combat with babes. manta gte. cops. xfiles. fat sam's when it was cool to go there.

  • representing ambient house in early 90s

  • I remember being at my mates house when this arrived through the post. The VHS video and CD together. Getting them in sync perfectly was a little bit difficult. We were perfectionists and even 1/2 second difference was annoying....LOL

  • tune.

    so good.

  • I read an an interview with her and she said she had a cold when she did the recording. That's why she sounds stuffed up.

  • @CosmoP Yeah lol. She actually sued them for using her voice track. Ridiculous. She should have paid THEM. She hasn't been relevant in decades.

  • Who was she? I always wondered who's voice that was. Thanks! :)

  • Was a sample of an interview with Rickie Lee Jones

  • Thanks! I always wondered who that was.

  • music + sex + STUFF = emotions = LIFE!

  • ... stuff?

    k

  • We've got massive fuckin' black rain clouds here in Cornwall!

  • a few little mushrooms out of our devon fields would of gone down well right now

  • Music like this from 1991 is still amazing.

  • Amaizing video and the song is just absolute class! Bring back the 90's please!!

  • what a fucking tune its like having a superstrawberry sandwich with a codine filler washed down with fucking brown ale love it.

  • Nice song !! :))

  • awesome,trippy,lovely,,,bring back the 90s!

  • i thought this was Joni Mitchel... not Rickie Lee Jones..r am i bein stupid

  • no you are not..JM it was :-)

  • I think Early-Mid 90 was a huge boom for new, good, Trance. It's sad that Trance these days have lost that unique-mind blowing-vital part.

  • wow I've been looking 4 this song 4 a long time !!!YES

  • One of the best tunes on the sunset ibiza album orbital are the shit!

  • no this is not orbital.. this is the orb.. verry different

  • Reminds me of tripping inside my mates bed sit every weekend whilst they all went on the piss, I used to drop a few and curl up into a brown sleeping bag on a recliner chair and skin up, fucking awesome, then I'd have the piss-heads come back and bring me up to a different level... Great days

  • Awesome song, what album is it from??

  • Actually the song is on an album :

    "Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld"

  • This came out in 1990...

  • As was mentioned earlier, it's on "Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld". I have the CD...and the cassette I bought when this was brand new.

  • so many memories, totally tripping down under...

  • Kenapa tiada gambar ni???

  • I could be her.. shes like my parallel self. I lived in arizona :|

  • Still does the job in how many years.......a classic....

  • The most beautifull video and song that I know,

"the sunset was purple, red, yellow...."

    Greath armony....beautifull !

  • this should have more than half a million views.

  • even if u do not partake of the ganja- _ drove from one side of Oahu, Hawaii- to the other in an open jeep with this on repeat. Bliss. Peace!

  • hells yeah bro

  • Orbital was there first album (I think) many hazy days have passed since i last heard this

  • Perfect stoners music ( i love it )

  • Consider yourself corrected.

  • no dr alex patterson the ORB ANOTHER STONE CLASSIC

  • orbital did a remix????

  • bit jaded.but so am eye.

  • The voice somehoe reminds me on Swayzak...which is actually french-house, not Acid-House/Hardtrance...maybe I'm wrong...

  • This reminds me of walking around the Glastonbury Festival in the early to mid '90s at night under the influence of weed. I wouldn't want to live those days again, the world has to move on, but they were fun times.

  • No effing way that was Lavar Burton...Fantastic track, definately one of the best of the early 90s...

  • apparently it was - google it.

  • The female voice is Rickie Lee Jones who claims she wasn't stoned but suffering from a heavy cold. The male voice ("What were the skies like when you were young?") is apparently Levar Burton (Geordi LaForge in Star Trek: TNG).

  • live 93 glastonbury .....
