@pearldrums9 yeah its a pretty nice looking color! and i got it when they only made 40 of these kits as alimited run color :S they didnt bring this color option out until the next year
Cool, as I watch you play. I realize how much I hate Pearl hardware. AAAHHHH! DW hardware is the best, believe that! Change it up man! Same fills over and over! Hope this helps!
I love my Pearl Reference kit in Granite Sparkle. I bought it when they first came out. My only complaint was the weight....very heavy drums...I got tired of lugging them around to my gigs. Now they are in the music room for practice.
at 2:26 you get like one minute of decent playing, then snare crap and more kit destruciton...
I wonder if this guy's actually testing the kit somewhere in a pearl factory? I mean, it would make perfect sense: If he can't break it/ cause it terrible damage, no one else can!
So, just wondering, do you hate Pearl? Cause I don't think that anyone in their right mind would play all that shit on a Reference, go buy some Sound Percussions, they'll match your level of skill. Noob.
yeah drummers need to check the audio quality before posting some stuff on here,.. my speakers hate it when i click on on some of these vids,, this one isnt too bad, but you know a little folded piece of TP over the mic on the camera would have made this sound alot better
it looks like you sped the video up so it makes it look like you can play faster, bad times :/
bro you should listen to what the other guys say, work on your groove man...and also its heaps better to learn at a slower pace then gradually speed it up so you lock the movements into muscle memory, not try and blast the hell outta the kit for 7mins! but hey, good luck with it!
lol i love the kit love how it sounds and think the heart attack with sticks should do some covers so we can see that he can actually play ^^ jk man i <3 this vid
It would have been nice if you had settled down and let the sounds breath a little. Ever heard of dynamics or groove. What a wast of beautiful equipment. Oh well at least you got them. Now you can start learning to play I guess. Good luck.
Thank you for taking the time to post this video..
That is a beautiful kit, and I'm sure your very pleased to be sat beside her.
Tama vs Pearl? Ayotte vs Pearl? I've been looking for my next high spec kit... Ayotte nearly got me, then I learned of the Pearl R Series with the Snares of 20ply?
yeah its 20 ply. 20 ply belive it or not might sound overboard with too many plys, but its perfect! it has amazing tuning capabilty with lots of attack, but it has great warmth to it and ita lound as hell. the snare is ultimatly versatile. mant will say its the best snare you could possibly want
@thrasid actually my dad is middle class and I bought this with my own money that I worked really hard for working at hardware store. thank you though, and I just did a bunch of this shit to try and impress my ex girlfriend who at the time WAS my girlfriend so I uploaded it... i wasn't trying to be amazing sounding at all.... but if you would like to know ive gotten good enough that I am in college for playing the drums so what can you say about where you have gone with playing the drums?
not my favorite color. but it sounds good and thats what counts. nd yes a bit too much snare lol but i'de be the same way the first time i played a kick ass snare like that.
I just saw antiflag live and I'm pretty sure their drummer is using the exact same drums. Pearl reference, 4 piece, green sparkle. Except he has fewer cymbals
yeah i know, i love to use that snare alot, i just felt like posting a vid, wasnt trying to impress people, but im alot better than this vid. ive made it into college playing drums lol. but yeah the kit sounds amazing, especially in person, thanks!
jesus christ man quit hitting the snare like that. You dont just look bad but it sounds bad too. Quit trying to be like dennis chambers and DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT!
Then why did you feel the need to knock him in the first place? Either apologize or stand your ground. Don't take a shot at somebody and then backpedal.
I kind of agree. You dropped some dime on that thing just to hit it hard and fast, you coulda done that on anything. Maybe look into some Bernard Purdie.
You have all the technique and skill to play some great drums,- but like many other comments tell you, it's to fast and plain. If you plaid the same moves 50% slower, they would sound much better. Try to listen to my all time favorit drumsolo,- Ian Paice of Deep Purple on "The Mule" from "Made in Japan". This will show you how speed, groove and technique can be mixed in to a great solo..... love your snare sound...
Thanks!Yeah I play the snare in band alot, but i play everything.I use it so much cuz its my favorite drum outta my kit. Its the best snare ive ever heard!
It was $2400 for the 14" floor tom, 10"tom, 12" tom(not pictured), and 22" bass drum. I got the 16" floor tom for free as part of the deal. The snare came separate which was $525.
