After reading "On intelligence" by jeff hawkings I got quite critical against asimo. Mainly because his learning rate is way to low. After 11 years, he is able to walk up some stairs and down again without falling. As that might be incredible for asimo (as he tends to fall down stairs on various shows) it is still not enough to compensate for the lack of learning speed.

A computer do same task as a neuron, 2000 more times per second. Yet, we learn stairs faster. Faster computers isnt the answer

BTW - the stair case is preprogrammed last time I looked into how they did it. Give it another staircase with different height stairs and it will fail! So a bit of trickery there. Still, very smooth mechanics. Just the AI is not as advanced as it seems.
