@chocololitaxo If you don't mind not having any grip, then yes. You're going to want shoes that can bend, are lightweight, and most importantly, have grip.
What he did near the end of the clip was progression. How to do it gradually so that you don't clip your leg on the wall when you try his move for the first time.
Also,to any others who try to do this : Don't use your hand to carry you over the wall, use it simply for balance.
When i was doing this for the first time i was actually scared to jump in the air almost diagonally and then landing my hand onto the wall. But don't worry, you'll get there with traning. :D
You and David Belle both do some kind of scissor thing with your legs during the speed vault. Is that necessary, or is it something that comes naturally with practice?
Its actually how you learn them in the first place.. you learn them by stepping on the wall.. you build up speed untill your foot isnt on the wall.. but your foot still does the kicking kind of motion as if you are stepping on the wall...
@ThatAznJeff How do you think Cavemen, ran eh??? They said "hold on there wild boar, I must get my Nikes or Asics, before I chase you down to feed my family today"
No they bloody didnt.
If your not used to it, then it puts on more strain than usual, but when your used to it, your foot and lower body workd like they were designed. No more ignorant comments please!!
To be honest man, your like most people, you hear the line "broken glass and nails" and think that the whole world are covered in these nasties.
To be honest there not man, I train a moderate amount in barefoot, and although I dont train outside pubs etc, where I do train are fairly public places, and in all my time Ive only got cut on my foot once, and this was from a very sharp stone and my own fault cause I stumbled before i hit it, Hard.
well it's the strain that actually improves ur game right? I mean, as long as u don't over do it and break yourself, these muscles/tendons etc in ur foot that are only rlly used when barefoot running will grow stronger, and therefore allow you to do more, eg: able to take harder landings on feet without injury.
@ThatAznJeff and not using those muscles and tendons puts them into a state of atrophy in which there is only one way to reverse. And that is to work them. The human body is DESIGNED *yea, its made this way!* to run BAREFOOT!!! Some of the best runners in the world, Tarahumara indians, kenyans, etheopians, whatever... most if not all of them don't have 'state of the art' shoes that "protect" them from injury. and yet they have less injuries and more strength. BECAUSE THEY RUN BLOODY BAREFOOT!!!
@JPGuitarGuyFutrell your forgetting that we were made to run barefoot on much softer terain the concrete. grass and dirt are the most common natural terain. the only hard surface was rocks. concrete has only been around for a very short duration of our evolution. and you also forget that for as long as there has been concrete, humans have had shoes, so there has been lituraly no time for adaptation.
@PKCrusade well then, time to start adapting... though it seems that only a small section of people will develope this seeing as people don't really exercise much and honestly. the only thing that keeps people from going barefoot is because of how SLOW you have to start out. I myself am starting out going totally barefoot. I'm used to running miles on end in fivefingers but actually barefoot, its a whole new game. People can adapt in a lifetime... its just actually trying that stops most.

But nice tutorial. I like how it's not mixed up with a trillion other passements, how you show the same move at different angles, both in fast and slow tempo, and follow up by showing some preparational exercises. Excellent. Thank you.
Shit is the basic ass move compare to what we niggas do when dipping from the boys! haha
