The only thing even remotely close to Richter's sensibilities now is the TV show Supernatural. The right mix of fantasy and humor elevates it to high comedy.

My premise is quite simple: Hanoi Xan took over the Tibetan Palace as a headquarters for the WCL, dispatching baddies throughout the planet and the Lunar colony, and the new Team Banzai, lead by Buckaroo's Daughter, Peggy with some new exciting 'toys', (including a modified Braniff 727) go after Xan. Buckaroo ends up having to save Peggy from Xan, with the help of Penny & a clone of Rawhide.
25 years later, The Hong Kong Cavaliers have split up, Buckaroo Banzai is a recluse after his break up with Penny in 1995. In 2011 An insideous and mysterious world order begins to raise its ugly head...... Only the gang getting back together(The original cast) can save the world from....THE WORLD CRIME LEAGUE!!!
