  • Ouaw..

  • If only BioWare had the rights to make games about Baldur's Gate/Forgotten Realms/D&D.....yeah, I kno they concluded the storyline of Baldur's Gate perfectly in Throne of Bhaal and that Dragon Age is supposed to be their new "Baldur's Gate/Neverwinter Nights", but I still would like to see another epic fantasy adventure in Faerûn made by BioWare, rather than Dragon Age 3.

  • @Balnazzardi agreed, it was forgotten realms what made those games so good.

  • dragon age origins one of the best games ever concocted i will never stop playing my copy its just too much fun

  • Fucking Epic Game! I Love It So Much!

  • NWN2:MotB was actually pretty good, not quite the standard of the BG:series but you can feel that it tried -hard- to reach the same standard.

  • This brings back a torrent of great memories of a great game, makes me sad.

  • 2,300 grey wardens love this theme and game give it up for one of the best video game storylines ever created

  • @H0ll0wz Your english is terrible.

  • @halodystroyer44 stfu dude <3

  • Are you guys serious with the praise for DA:O? I thought it wasn't a particularly good game, and nowhere near games such as Witcher 2 or Skyrim, the Mass Effect series, and it does not even deserve a mention alongside Baldur's Gate 2. The story was average; a traditional fantasy tale of a nobody rising to glory and saving the world. Storytelling was awful -> go locations and perform some arbitrary quests for these guys to join you. Characters were shallow except for Alistair and Morrigan.

  • @Jugistoteles I thought DA2 was much better in terms of how the story was told, and character development was light years ahead of DAO. The city of Kirkwatch actually worked (Denerim anyone?). There were issues with DA2, sure (repetitive environments, stupidities with the story; you're given options that aren't really there). But all in all, I'd say they were equal as games. I was more frustrated with DAO though, but its highs were better than DA2's.

  • @Jugistoteles You know what, I actually agree with you.

  • Why dislikes??!!whhhhyy??this is very cool soundtrack and the best game:33

    I like it:3

  • the lyrics are in a different language btw, good stuff though

  • I just wish people could fucking stop nerdraging about DA2 everywhere. You're not proving a point anymore, you're just making yourselves look stupid.

  • Skyrim is awesome when it comes to graphics, and the main story is pretty cool, but it is weak on character development, interaction or emotional content. Most of the quests are based on hack and slash. on exploring similar caves over and over. And I especially hated when I had to travel across the entire world to find a guy who knows a guy who tells me where the quest item is located. Of course it depends on tastes and the two should not be compared because they both have their pros and cons

  • @laviskrg I'd just bought Origins with all the DLCs, and I found it a much more engrossing experience, compared to Skyrim near the beginning, creating a new character also felt awesome considering there is 6 different startings, when I create a new character in Skyrim, I felt that sitting through the quests again is so BORING. Honestly. The combat in Skyrim felt dumbed down. It felt like a 1st person medieval action game, ie. sword and shield, fireballs, I wished there was more "Bioshock" spells

  • @Akantorz12 I totally agree. I am just now finishing Dragon Age and can barely wait to do it again with another origin tale. Plus, it wasn't about the fighting. Skyrim has many parts where it is just that. Also, I uninstalled Skyrim after I did the quests that mattered to me and the main one. I don't think that the purpose of a game is to last forever and ever. I just don't accuse Skyrim of anything because it differs from Dragon Age in so many ways. But yes, to me, Dragon Age is vastly superior

  • @laviskrg THis is exactly why I loved this game. The amazing story and characters made up for everything else. With a few decent mods you can make the combat look entirely cinematic thus creating a literally orgasmic game experience.

"after the clouds, a great journey through the storm"......

  • I prefer dragon age to skyrim.

  • @sauron176 u go have fun with that

  • The music really is enchanting. It was the music and cool characters that sucked me into DA in a big way for a time. Even if it is a pretty linear game at the end of the day. For 2 months i really did love it. My old boy cat loved the music too, sleeping near the speakers when this game was on :)

  • This song reminds me of how much more I like DA:O then DA2

  • Wow, it will be 3 years...... RIP

  • I love the theme :D everytime it plays in the loading screen I don't start the game just yet so I can listen to it ahahah XD

  • This theme is absolutely haunting

  • 1:57

  • *cough *cough Elder scrolls is better! *cough *cough

  • @FreemanLambda *cough* cough Elder Scrolls is an solo action RPG and Dragon Age is a party-based tatical RPG, way to different to be compared *cough *cough

Oh, and before i forget, Elder Scrolls 3:Morrowind is the best elder scrolls ever

  • @eusouocarameuirmao Skyrim>Everything Else

  • @doctorrichford Morrowind >>>>>> Skyrim

    .

any true elder scroll fan knows that

  • @eusouocarameuirmao Agreed so much + 210

  • @doctorrichford except for baldurs gate.

  • @FreemanLambda

*cough* I like Elder Scrolls and Dragon Age Origins equally. No need to made everything into a pointless competition. *cough*

  • @dtek40k Its not equal though Dragon Age is shit compared to the Elder Scrolls, Dragon Age is good just not as good.

  • @FreemanLambda

    BARK LIKE A DOG!

  • @FreemanLambda not really it REALLY depends on taste because there are a lot of people who say that they get bored with Elder Scroll kind of games and love Dragon Age look I like Elder Scrolls but it does lack a lot of details.

  • @FreemanLambda DA has better characters and story. Only Morrowind had anything that came close. DA has a tactical aspect. Skyrim has a hack and slash aspect. THey are completely different games. To each his own man.

  • I love this song, it's both touching and enthralling.

What a shame this game was so inferior to the classics in the role playing aspects terms! Too much focus on the action part. It had great potential, though.

  • @SirLancelot2008 It was the best game ever.

If you dont skip on the video's you'll have 10 hours of cutscene, if not more, which are amazing.

  • Dragon Age: Origins is my favorite game of all time. That is for one reason: not the tactical combat, not the music, not even the story. Above all, it was the immersion. The characters were so strong, so believable, that I actually missed them when I stopped playing. I've never been that connected to a game, ever. I doubt I'll ever be again.

So every time I hear this theme, it makes me think about everything I did in DA:O. I have nostalgia already and this game is, what, 5 years old, tops?

  • @iisl33t It's a late 2009 game, so just a little over 2 years old.

  • @iisl33t I agree i feel that this is the best game ive played so far on the ps3

  • @iisl33t Barely 2 1/2

  • 32 darkspawn and the archdemon disliked this

  • This music is like rising up from the ground of a blood soaked battlefield. Raising your weapon high as you see the enemy approaching. You show no fear, it's them or you. You rally those who remain next to you and prepare to charge as you feel overwhelming strength and morale fill your soul. Finally with one loud cry the two sides begin their charge towards the other, for one final battle.

Long live DAO, the ultimate game. =)

  • It is impossible for me to put into words how much I love Dragon Age Origins.

  • Dragon Age is seriously risking to sink like lots of RPG unless it is brought back to the quality standards of the first game. Seriously: the second one wasn't even mentioned in most of the year's game awards. And it's not because it came out on March, it's because it sucked, compared to awesome games like the Witcher 2, Skyrim and Dark Souls. Come on Bioware.. I know you are able to make awesome games. Don't make Dragon Age 3 another Neverwinter Nights 2.

  • @Beyondthehorizon4 Having played Role Playing Games for 15 years I must say Neverwinter Nights 2 is one of my favorites. But all and all I agree with you on the subject of Dragon Age 3, I'm very much enjoying Kingdoms of Amalur : Reckoning right now but miss the certain lack of strong Characters in it.

  • @Beyondthehorizon4 I'd like to add that NwN 2 was made by Obsidian. And yes, the original campaign was pretty bad. But the first expansion pack, Mask of The Betrayer was probably one of the best rpg expansions ever.

  • @Beyondthehorizon4 To be fair, Dragon Age Origins was given 5 years of development compared to the mere 2 years that Dragon Age 2 got, meaning that they had to cut a hellavlot of corners in terms of story progression, characters, and gameplay to meet their deadline. I'm sure that they''ll take more time with Dragon Age 3 now that they've gotten all of their critgue from the Dragon Age 2.

  • @Beyondthehorizon4 Neverwinter Nights 2 was absolutely great? REALLY WEIRD EXAMPLE HERE...

  • @Naykobenok No, Neverwinter Nights 2 SUCKED. NWN 1 was good!

  • @Beyondthehorizon4 I liked them both a lot! And imo, the story was even more interesting in NW2...

  • @Beyondthehorizon4 i agree with all except dark souls, that was a piece of flaming shit

  • @Beyondthehorizon4 Yeah, I can't believe how Bioware got from the masterpiece of Baldur's Gate 2 to the complete crap that was Dragon Age 2. Sad really, commercialism and the hunger for money destroys everything.

  • @Beyondthehorizon4 BioWare had nothing to do with Neverwinter Nights 2. That was all Obsidian.

  • @Beyondthehorizon4 Totally agreed, D.A Origins made me cry in some scenes, like Alistair's speech, D.A 2 just made me cry for how bad the game is.

hunger for money is a serious problem that ruins most games continuations.

  • @VictorSq015 Just look at what kind of shit Assassin's Creed might become. Look at how good the second was, and how the others are a mere copy with an even more overpowered Ezio. Also yeah.. I remember actually dropping a tear when I decided to kill the haunted kid with my bare hands in the Arle's palace. And I never cry. Usually.

  • @VictorSq015 You have made my day because you said it so damn well... lost brother/sister ...

  • @Beyondthehorizon4 mike laidlaw said DA3 will get a bigger map than Ferelden and you can travel to Orlais and Tevinter

sooo a really really big map is it, open world, multiplayer like the orzammar arena... you can play in multiplayer with your hero or as a dragon :D

  • Thats one of the best theme song made so far!

  • lyrics:

  • 33 people were fed to the Darkspawn today...RIP

  • Dragon Age 2 honestly wasn't such a bad game; although, it did not live up to the expectations I had as a result of playing Origins, which was a far superior game.

  • @Tsunaphoenix3

DA2 wasn't as horrible as all the nerd rage would have you believe, but it was a very mediocre game. Mostly because it was so damn repetitive.

  • DAO was one of the best and deep rpg's i have ever played. DA2 was utter shit. DAO could compete with skyrim and DA2 CANNOT. LONG LIVE DAO!

  • @Mattster279 You got to be kidding me. DAO compete with Skyrim? Rotfl! Skyrim sucks compared to ANY Bioware game. No depth, no epic scenes, not even conquencenses of your deeds.

  • @Pawryt so your saying skyrim sucks compared to Da2? seeing as u said all bioware games are better than skyrim. lol at you.

  • @Pawryt well, Skyrim was designed for open world rpg where u can do pretty much shit anything. While DAO was created as a story driven Rpg which you can influence much more. Also in Skyrim if u do something, there will be consequences in some way, not as big as ME or DA but still some impact. If anything I would say DAO is a more open and customizable version of Final Fantasy 7,8, or 10. Also i would like to point out I love all 3 companies so i am not biased.

  • Dragon Age: Origins was such a beautiful game, it was one of the best games ever made. Definetly deserved to be mainstream and one of the top RPG ranks...even if this series still has a chance to be remembered DA2 came up and fucked up the series...

  • Check out my renditions of Mass Effect!

  • You folks should play some old infinity engine games, it would blow your minds.

  • Dragon Age-best epic game....I love this game

  • @bronto191 i think this game is forgotten , but i still loving it so so much :((!!

  • @bronto191

me to i have the game and i love it with aaaaaaaallllllllll of my heart

  • beautiful song......

  • On 3rd playthrough now, but am away from me beloved ps3 right now.

I'm getting all teary eyes just listening to this ;_;.

IT'S OKAY BABY i'LL BE BACK SOON. (by baby I mean Alistiar >w>)

  • @GenerationBright iim crying too :(

  • This game was awesome

  • @RappinMobbStyle i love it

  • Oh shit... i hear this song and so many good memories come to mind.... Dragon Age Origins is the only game that made me play FIVE playthroughs in less than a year.. i played two and 8 months later i played three more on Hard... what an awesome game.. .If anyone wants to play an epic medieval game , Dragon Age Origins is the best to play.

  • I got the sound track on itunes.....can you blame me?

  • @hellspawn435 No, why would I?

  • Dragon Age 3... The best of DA:O and DA:2? Story like the one in DA:O with the same dialogue system. From DA:2 the fast-paced combat system with some more strategical challenge. That's what I hope.

  • @TheHiivasonni, we can only hope. I'm definitely craving a DA3 :)

  • Comment removed

  • @TheHiivasonni Using any of DA2 is a bad idea.

  • @TheHiivasonni I disagree about the combat part. I want it to go back to the more strategic Baldur's Gate style from DA:O. All the changes from DA2 were for the worse as far as I am concerned. Did not enjoy DA2 very much at all. They even took away our top down camera!

  • @TheHiivasonni The combat system in DA2 ruined it for me. They should have kept Origins combat system.

  • @TheHiivasonni

    Totally agree.

  • Turn down the volume of DA2, open this URL and hit that replay button.

  • They should have just stuck with what made the franchise great. They made the art style into a cartoon. The new darkspawn are a joke; in Origins they were genuinely horrifying. Why would they ditch the winning formula? There were some things in Origins that needed work; skills weren't implemented effectively, combat felt sluggish at times... but they turned DA it into an anime-style hack-and-slash.

  • The combat just needed a TOUCH of speeding up - refinement, while still retaining the feel of a realistic dark fantasy; the feel that Dragon Age was meant for... a spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate. They blew it.

I want another epic story, with memorable characters... realistic (to some degree, like Origins) satisfying combat... what the franchise should be all about.

  • this song and skyrims song dovahkiin are the best game songs ever!

  • Bioware and Bethesda (in no particular order), unite. you can make the perfect RPG. I beg you!

  • @ManticoreRO To be honest, it wouldn't work, they are two contrastley different in styles, it'd be like, I dont know, Lady Gaga and Abbath (though i doubt anyone besides me knowsd who that is) would come together to make a song (to be honest, this is a horrible analogy.

  • @joeriz9 DA2 was ok, it wasnt nearly as amazing as Origins (or Awakening).

But as DA2 were worse in gameplay, I still loved the complexity of the story. I hope thet make DA3 as strategic, enjoyable and fun to play as origins. And I hope they make 100x better story than DA2 had. It would be the best game ever made.

  • @Taapertajaankka

The story of DA2 was much worse, I liked it, but not as close as much as DA1 and awakening.

  • @joeriz9 In DA:O the story was kind of used, not that badly thought. I mean you were the last hope to deafeat the evil. In DA2 you were just a thug after coin, until you had to decide are you the "hero" or the "evil".

  • @joeriz9 OMG! I know! Dragon age Origins made a huge impact on my life (TOTAL NERD RIGHT HERE) i could play that game over and over again!

  • @joeriz9 Dragon Age 2 wasn't THAT bad. I mean obviously nowhere near Origins but I don't see how it fuck "fuck it all up"

  • @joeriz9 DA2 didn't fuck it all. It is still an amazing game. Compared to DA:O it is underwhelming, that is true but that's because there has been a major paradigm shift going on in that genre for years. After KoToR, which is to this day the best game in that genre it was dumbed down and comm. via DAO to DA 2 and now ToR. Most people who loved KoToR and DA:O will be underwhelmed by DA2, but Bioware has to sell games so they satisfy the demand of the majority. And that's not us anymore.

  • @blabla44549 No trust me it was just bad. They got rid of everything that origins had going for it. Instead they just rushed it out and didnt bother to polish the game at all. I was just a rushed sloppy made game. They should have taken time and noticed what people loved.

  • @blabla44549 The majority is still us. They just DO NOT WANT to put effort and resources. Easy money.

  • @joeriz9 I thought awakening was great.... cant say I acknowledge the existence of anything beyond that :)

  • @hammer326 i never said awakening wasnt great, i loved that expansion.

    I was talking about DA2

  • @joeriz9 that's the joke, hence me making the point that I like many other fans consider it to stop there :P

  • @joeriz9 then Skyrim came!

  • @AdnanKauser Not really, skyrim is good, but it's nothing compared to Oblivion or morrowind.

But i guess you're one of those people that doesnt even know oblivion and morrowind.

  • @joeriz9 You sir/madam are right, I'm an MGS man myself in truth.

  • @AdnanKauser I prefer Dragon Age over The Elder Scrolls even though DA2 is a disappointment

  • when DA still was cool...

  • The Dragon Age series used to be epically awesome, but then it took an arrow to the knee.

  • Dragon Age character dynamics, arc, dialogue, and music. Skyrim game immersion, combat system, graphics. Herein, gentlemen, we have the world's perfect RPG.

  • @JeniusRetard Maybe Far Cry 2's graphics, but yes, yes, yes to everything else.

  • I'll never forget this theme. I'll remember it in my last moments as i leave this world.

  • ich krieg Gänsehaut... *__*

  • i think i never played a better game. when i played it the first time and i heard this theme in the main menu i knew it was going to be great!

  • best bit is 0:46 so nice tone of voice

  • I like Dragon age Origins, and I like Skyrim. Shut the fuck up with the comparisons.

  • DA:O was a brilliant game, although they needed to balance the classes a bit better (Mages owned, rogues were corpses-in-waiting), but then DA2 was rubbish. Lame hub based map, boring combat and greatest sin of all, in an RPG never, ever, ever, EVER force me to be a god damn human!!!! The varying intros from origins depending on character type was the best thing about the game!

  • Epic theme !

  • Join us, brothers and sisters.

Join us in the shadows, where we stand vigilant.

Join us, as we carry the duty that cannot be forsworn.

And should you perish, know that your sacrifice will not be forgotten, and that one day, we shall join you.

  • @XtraAceCon Well Dragon Age 3 hasn't been announced yet and with EA taking queues from Skyrim lets hope we don't get Dragon Age 3 until 2013.

  • @XtraAceCon Well I heard there is a mass effect team and a dragon age team. I think EA wanted to cash in on the COD crowd and knew making it similar to ME2 was smart since the COD is too stupid to actually play through ME1 or origins lol. EA failed to realize though that the COD crowd doesn't play anything that isn't COD or Halo lol. EA recently said though that they are taking queues from Skyrim for the next Dragon Age and said they have been listening to fan feed back.

  • @XtraAceCon I remember siding with the mages and now that you mention that its coming back to me. Like I said though, I was just so happy to be done with the game and with its forgettable story I kind of forgot exactly how it ended lol.

  • 00:24. Im screwed?

  • @XtraAceCon Really?

I rather like placing glyphs and such strategically on the ground, then tying down my opponents with various spells just to have the other characters finish them off.

I'm disappointed that I can't use the same spell combinations in DA:II as I could in DA:O. I loved killing off a few mobs by freezing them and tossing crushing prison on them, or by petrifying them and finishing them off with a stonefist.

  • @XtraAceCon And after all that button mashing through the game what did you accomplish? You resolved a dispute between the Templars and the Mages. What did you accomplish after strategically playing your way through origins? You saved the freaken world lol.

  • @gokux75 Didn't resolve it... actually you escalated it, lol

  • @shadowmare97 Oh yes, you have to excuse me. The game was so shitty that towards the end I just got so excited I could finally un install this garbage from my pc that I lost focus on what was going on lol.

  • Comment removed

  • Surely I can't be the only one who likes DA:2?

The combat is a lot more fast paced, and I don't feel "Egh, I think I'm going to try and skip these mobs" all the time.

Granted, I am thoroughly disappointed when it comes to the spirit healers. 50 second cooldown on a healing spell, really?

Can't say I hated DA:O's combat though. It felt a lot like the Neverwinter games. I liked that.

  • @Dojan5 I hated the fast paced combat and never wanted to skip mobs in origins. As much as I hate DA2 I would say its no so much a bad game as it is a bad sequel. I think if it was called "Dragon Age side story" or something along those lines people would like it more.

  • @gokux75 Mm. I haven't finished either yet as I decided to try and finish DA II and give DA:O a pause just to see what differences would carry over from DA:O in my second playthrough of DA II.

I have to say that character and story-wise I prefer DA:O, but there was some rather lengthy battles in DA:O, like the fade in the magic circle.

What I really hate about DA II right now though is that enemies have a tendency to spawn a second time, and a third time. That just gets annoying.

  • @Dojan5 Ok I get that. I didnt like the fade either. I liked climbing the tower but thought the part in the fade was pointless and drawn out. The respawning of enimies annoyed me too. Whats worth was that da2 was made more for consoles and I play on pc so unlike origins which works perfect with a keyboard, i found the controls for da2 to not work as well with a keyboard so fighting didnt go as smooth for me and I died a bit more often although it probably isnt as bad as im making it to be.

  • Ah yes, "Darkspawn", the immortal race of mindless fiends allegedly waiting in the Deep Roads... We have dismissed that claim.

  • @MainHeretic nice mass effect quot

  • @MainHeretic I can't wait to see the look on his face when the Reapers show up lol.

  • @MainHeretic ahahah. Bioware's RPGs fans unite!!

  • @domkex Hey! Look at that! A copy and paste from an empty headed dipshit that's never had an original thought in his life!

    Lets all point and laugh!

  • @domkex You sir are a genius.

  • @domkex Wrong game, fool.

  • @Snipertoaster

    Like Borat would said:

    wrong game.......... not

  • @domkex !st of all, its a fucking overused, uncreative, annoing joke. Second, Skyrim has nothing to do with this. 3rd its not a knee in the arrow as you depict, even though i doo see the arrow going into the knee... so you get a pass.

  • lyrics?

  • The vocals are godly!

  • Dragon age: Origins is truly on of those games, that realy aren't just games.

  • the reason Dragon Age: Origins was obviously better, is because they put 5 years into Dragon Age: Origins, while only 1 year was put into Dragon Age 2 and it was obviously rushed. my brother works for Bioware and told me they ARE doing another, but don't expect it anytime soon, there going to take there time with it

  • I liked DA:O

    I liked DA:A

and when DA2 came out I was going to like it, too. But then I realised DA2 is shit....

and took an arrow in the knee

  • One thing can sum up the HUGE difference of DA:O and DA2.. on the first one you save the fucking world of the blight. On the second one you spend the entire game in one city. I mean, really? It's almost as if in Mass Effect 2 you had to be stuck in one damn planet the entire game, see my point?

  • i hope da3 is about flemeth and morrigan.. its been suggested that flemeth could be an archdemon..
