looking back, ill health or not, maybe listening to the words on this, explains why bowie does,nt want to make a comeback. why should he. he knows his best work and performances are behind him. I wonder if this is another one of his haunting spiritual songs. He spent a lot of his spiritual anger and frustrations in his "Heathen" album. In "Days" it sounds as if he has vented enough to speak of love and hope in his spiritual life again.

I could be totally off the mark in this interpretation, but one can never be sure of just what all he has in mind when he writes his songs.

He sounds very sad and beautiful in this song. This is my favorite on the album.
