there are 2 main flaws in the Toyota a Prius which are
1. The car itself is advertising your a bit cheap and tight with money .i.e by saving fuel etc, which you aren't in any respects, my dads Mercedes Sprinter van or dodge sprinter in america gets better MPG than that thing
2. Even if they are doing the environment good, its totally pointless, because not everyone on earth is going to buy one & most pollution produced is from factories not cars
Wow, you guys are morons, it would be impossible for a full-size VAN to get better mileage on gasoline, or even diesel! ESPECIALLY in the city. And Toyota has some of the most efficient factories in the world.... u notice how GM, Ford, and Chrysler have closed dozens of factories and layed off hundres of thousands of workers? Toyota hasn't.... must be doing SOMETHING right...
so go mind your own business from now on. I am certainly not cheap, but a van is needed for my dad to transport welding equipment and supplies to power stations/ power plants etc. The company uses 2 or 3 vans to do this
i never said you were cheap :) but you were implying that the drivers of the prius look cheap now i know it's not a classy car i personally wouldn't get it i'd rather drive a peugeot than a prius a million times but i think these days most people are getting it becasue it seemed to be doing something right ! you know what i mean? and the aston martin is a wonderful vehicle :) i wanted to get the corvette z06 not long from now but gm is gone broke so pff we're screwed lol
who the hell would drive one of those, it is the uglyest thing on the road... if not on the earth. it is "green" but what do you do with the batterys lolz guess you never though of that :p
@99gsx4g63 That's true. Toyota actually pays you a few hundred bucks if you recycle the battery at the end of it's life. Do some research, there's been a lot of Prii that have exceeded 300,000 miles with no problems. Because it has an electric motor to help that never needs oil or tune ups, it reduces strain and wear on the engine, making it quieter, cleaner, and much more efficient. The Prius actually lasts longer than a traditional car.
The Hybrid Synergy Drive isn't all that impressive or complicated. So do you "greeny" wanna-bes just blow smoke up each others asses all day, deciding to forget about the huge impacts on the environment the manufacturing of hybrid cars has. The facilities where the batteries are manufactured literally kill wildlife around them due to acid rain, it happened in Canada, where Toyota gets a lot of the batteries from a Nickel plant. Educate yourselves people.
I know this is 6 months old...but honest, you need to educate YOURSELF!
The nickel plant in Sudbury isn't what it use to be...everything that happend, happend back in the early days.
And Toyota buys all their nickel from Sudbury for the batteries which is 4% of what they sell. Do you not realize that nickel is used for ALOT more then just the tiny bit in the Prius??
All mining is not friendly for the environment. There is still going to be waste products and then you have to take account the shipping and where the nickel is shipped. One destination in which the battery is shipped is china. China has some of the loosest environmental laws in which one can infer that there is more than likely harmful waste product. not only that but all of that shipping ads up and the car is not reliable at all. The prius is still the most eco damaging car.
@atgskater14 While I'll agree with you about the china part, everything else you've said is wrong. With the china part, that's what happens when you've got cheaper labor, but remember, just about everything you buy is from china....Prius or not.
Prius is NOT the most eco damaging car, you'd better look that up and don't 'google' it, only stupid people that don't know how to use the internet would do that.
It's also one of the most reliable cars on the road, ask any taxi driver who drives one.
The Toyota Prius is one of the ugliest cars ever manufactured. It is also one of the worst cars for the environment, its carbon footprint is much larger than that of the average cars given the pounds and pounds of batteries. Only snooty people buy hybrids unfortunately. If you want a hybrid buy a Ford Escape, it actually looks normal and is practical, but you don't want that do you you snotty "live green" bastard, do you? You want1 people to know, "I drive a hybrid, look at me!"
ha no other car company competes with it. well here in canada the last well like 15 years HONDA CIVIC has been the number one selling car. And the CIVIC hybrid is almost as good as prius gas mileage. However civic hybrid or any other hybrid out there other then the prius has one thing going for them especially the lexus H hybrid they dont look like a freaking cheese wedge. Prius need to be more sporty looking and if they cant do that put the engine into the corolla and that would be much better.
This is a Good And thoughtful Prius Commercial. We in California don't get to see such commercials yet. The only thing our commercials say is 600 miles per tank of gas. that's great but what about the fact that the Toyota Hybrid Synergy Drive is the most advanced Hybrid on the Road today. No other car company competes with this, Yet.
