I seriously thought this video was made in the '80s. The VHS quality, clothing, and synth music were some signs. But after seeing the Smart car, I was like "did they make those in the '80s? '90s? Didn't think so....then when the awards started to scroll...2006?! WTH? Did they intentionally make this video look so old? LOL!!
Strida becomes your best friend as you look around and realize everyone wants to kill you for your bike. When in the folded mode you can then swing your best friend as you would a medieval battle axe to kill your would be bike jackers.
Yuck! What a cringingly tacky presentation....!! If I had any intention of trying that bike, it would be in spite of this ad, not because it had encouraged me.
im not sure i want to buy one cause this shit of a comercial..i mean could you pick a worse song has a background song?..i dont think so, and the guy sound like a computer..
There are many manufacturing companies (Chinese) that make copies with relatively high quality for CHEAP. I got one from a guy for $200. Do a search for strida bike on diytrade or alibaba.
this bike is a cool idea basically. i've tried one yesterday for one day, for commuting to my work (usually train+bus).
it's been fun, quite cool.
but i'll finally keep my micro kick scooter. smallest, almost faster as the strida -kickscooters can be fast ;), certainly easier and faster to fold, much more compact and light to carry, and very less expensive. and there's always my "normal" bike if i ever want to cycle.
(no offense. that was my very own opinion after testing the strida).
The thing about the Strida is that the wheels are so small. I think they are also solid, making the ride pretty rough. Plus it is harder to pedal with such small wheels. I thought these were pretty cool, but I am not sure they would be for more than a short ride every now and then.
I saw someone riding one of these on campus. I thought they looked ridiculous.

Give the guy who created this video a HIGH FIVE buddy. Between the corny video editing, the music--this fits into the 1980s perfectly!

Wouldn't you have to pedal a shit ton more since it has such a tiny wheel?
remsat10 1 year ago
@remsat10
that depends on the transmission...
smaller wheels are hardly a disadvantage.

not a good bike, small wheels plus when you fold it it is still too big... so I guess its a fail

Those small tires are unstable and if you hit a small pot hole it will lay you on your ass.

Best _made_. But they still have some way to go in design, as this bike was designed by an Englishman.

Strida is so 2007. Since it's Taiwan, get a Dahon Uno instead.

Fashionable?! I mean the idea is great and really practical, but I think calling Strida fashionable is like calling Michael Jackson healthy looking.

WA! I am not "fashionable" enough for this bike, nor do I want "the enjoyment of freedom as I have fun wherever I go".
