I bought this model recently but I'm not going to make this because it's just too much hard work let alone time consuming filling and sanding all those seams. A smaller one piece 18" saucer like the jupiter would of been more appropriate but this is just too big! The C-57D is of course just round and featureless and when it's finnished it just looks like one large round piece of plastic with a bubble in the middle. It's still nice to own one though but mine shall remain boxed.
I'm gonna start mine after the J2. I think I have a technique that will make the seams quite simple. I'm leaving out the interior as it's own model for down the road.
Way too huge for anything I'd do with it but gotta love them putting out a monster like that.
Gonna be interested to see how you go about painting it and getting that exterior finish.
Too bad the Id monster bit kind of sucks. I'd be tempted to mold and resculpt it a bit... it's mostly a gorilla head on a pair of hand/legs. Maybe someone makes a nice replacement in about that scale?
I am surprised and happy a regular model company would dare to put a huge kit like this on the market. But, it is too large.
Other kits at this size would be great. But a saucer, or a sphere like the Death Star, simply encompass too much area for anything but living in a devoted room inside a mansion.
