Your stuff is brilliant! It's like having Gedge in my living room - not that I'd say much to him. I stood next to him at the bar after a gig at Cambridge Corn Exchange donkeys years ago - he was chatting to John Peel. I couldn't bring myself to ACTUALLY TALK TO HIM!! And even though I'm 38 now, I just know I'd be the same - He was my God when growing up - what I didn't realise until now is that he still is - I've got a few albums to catch up on - The last one I bought was Watusi!
Hi and thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. Many a time I have stood "star struck" near Gedge and never had the courage to say hello - until last year. I said "Hi David, can I say thanks for all the great music over the years" He took it as a question and replied "Of course you can!" So I shook his hand and said "Thanks" I felt a fool but it was great. I'm not sure I would have approached him and Peel though...That too much awe to deal with...Thanks again!
In Brum I asked wot the rabbit was 4 on one of the T's He asked if Id got the new album I replied no He looked suprised n said it was on the inside cover on the new album. I said 'oh right thanks' I wanted to ask why is the rabbit on the inside cover then? but didn't dare. Later I realised I had got the new album and indeed there was a rabbit inside. I felt silly that I said I hadnt purchased his new album when in fact I had. I dont know which is worse not having the album or not realising I had
hi. i listen to your work again. dont know if it s possible to make you some suggestions but i d like very much to hear a cover of "sport cars". maybe too slow and instrumental. bye
J´ai souvent écouté cette chanson roulant de nuit á travers la Belgique, parfois dans une abbaye en ruines, le plus souvent en regardant á travers la vitre d´un train pendulaire direct ou m´y regardant. We might never have romance again. Thanks Gedge. la symbolisation ici de la fin sans fin est très marrante, bonne idée.
I have translated this using the Internet...It reads..."Often listened J´ai this rolling song of night á breadth Belgium, sometimes in an abbey some ruin, most often while looking at á breadth the pane d´un train direct pendular or m´y looking at. We might never have fictionalizes again. Thanks Gedge. the symbolization here of the endless end is very funny, good idea...."
okay i just wanted to say that i ve often listenned this song in in the ruins of an abbey by night or in trains . And that i like the way you have symbolized the endless end of the song.

Hi! Thanks for the translation! I can see that listening to "Take Me!" in the ruins of an Abbey or in trains must be very atmospheric indeed! ...It's an excellent song and one I have played in houses and cars. Cheers again!

Just discovered this site. Great cover to one of my favourite weddos tracks along with I'm not always so stupid. Been a weddos fan since 87, saw them at Koko Club on 31st Oct. Brilliant. My son is learning acoustic guitar. He will be watching this video.
Hi and welcome! I too was at koko and it was fantastic! There is a picture from the gig on my cover of "Don't Be So Hard". You can find that on my profile. Glad to hear your son is learning guitar with Weddoes songs...It's how I learn't years ago. Cheers!
Hey Matt. Been watching your vids for ages but only just checked out your profile. You are without doubt THE MAN. Keep it up mate and keep the music of the boy Gedge alive, for he is indeed a GOD.
Class mate, hope to see them in Islington soon, last saw them down in Brighton awhile back.Just started on Guitar, cant spot all thechords you play on your covers,PLEASE HELP,thankyerverymuchta!
Cheers! Are you going to the Belfast, Galway or Dublin gig? I'm off to KoKo in London to see them Oct 31st...Very excited...Check out my other covers as I would be interested to hear your comments on some of the less well known covers (Go Man Go for example) Thanks again, I really do appreciate your interest.
Off to see them in Dublin, they played cork a couple years of ago and were amazing but have seen them in London since!!would like to learn "spangle" and "blonde" next, good to have as party pieces!! enjoy London.
well - twp is THE band in my life, and i just enjoy their songs even when played by others. I´ve got this cover-cd, named Once more - tribute to twp - pretty funny to listen to other peoples covers. (to be honest youre covers are better than most of these bands :-)
Cheers! Yes indeed - I have my tickets already for London. As for Kennedy...I can do it but I'm not sure I should...Ah, hell, I probably will next time I have a couple of beers and am in the mood!
Absolutely TERRIFIC !!!!!!! I've not checked for new songs recently so I'm catching up and can't believe you did this one. My joint fave TWP track of all time and all done with one guitar and a door. Brilliant.
Just got back from holiday, so sorry for the delay but... Thanks Jonny33boy, glad you liked it. A hard one to do with just one guitar but the door helped me a great deal.
Never mind all this god is Gedge, Gedge is god nonsense I have shaken the hand of the true master, Mat Durrance. The hand that strums the guitar, in the room, with the door, which no-one knows what lies behind. Great song this one. Real passion - love it. And fab to meet you last night Mat!
To celebrate my 20th (Yes! 20th!) Wedding Present/Cinerama cover, Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the MIGHTY MIGHTY Take Me! A near 8 minute overture of guitar based rock...(well, OK, pop-rock)...They said it couldn't be done...They looked at my acoustic guitar and laughed...Where's the amplification? How are the intricately woven layers of guitar melodies going to be recreated with one mere unplugged six-string? What's behind that blessed door anyway? All this and more...
Superb. Got to be my fave.
Until recently, the only version of this track I had was on an old tape, recorded off Peely one night.

Great cover of a great song by a great band! It looks as though they are playing George Best in its entirety too on the forthcoming UK tour.
