I've had the moment 5 times for not even a year yet and it's horrible. I'm going to the HTC hero now. I'm 18 and a full keyboard and all that is not really too important to me anymore. I'm in college now and I just need something reliable. The Moment was VERY unreliable, slow, glitchy and everything else. Hopefully the Hero pleases me.

I have the samsung moment and I think it a great phone I think it has some battery problems and they could definatly extend the life but along with the huge touch screen and keyboard it has a touch pad like the blackberry 8520 and has touch pad. Just like touch screen touch pad is flat and works just by tapping it very cool I like it alot

i got a clean Moment that was used for 2 months on eBay a few weeks back for $150. I am a texter so it is great for that in the ability to use the QWERTY keyboard or the screen input. The relative clarity on the camera and video with flash capability on the Moment alone is worth $150 to me.

@chickwithbrains719 Have you also checked out the Sprint HTC EVO 4G? There's also a rumored Samsung Galaxy S Pro for Sprint, though when and if it gets released may get iffy, but that one is a higher-spec'ed version of the Moment in my opinion if it gets released.

Hero is thinner and sleeker and the qwerty keyboard on it is amazing. You really don't need a physical keyboard, people. The Hero has a flash player built in and has wayyyy more custumizations.

@Mikiblue14 I think hero was just a teaser preview of nexus one. I am waiting for the 4G Samsung Google phone. HTC is really not making much money dispite their dominance in smart phone market. I admit a lot of aspects of hero I really dislike. But I agree moment is superior phone. I was really happy with hero until paints started to flake off. I saw glue marks between huge gaps by the monitor plate against body of hero and I saw led lights though the sides. I am thinking this phone is cheap.

i just played with both andriod phones and have used the touch pro 2....i can say that the touch pro 2 looks nice with its big screen but its still the same old laggy os. The two andriod phones are much faster with the samsung the faster of the two!

@jabulaal get either the pre, pixi, moment, or the hero. the htc touch pro 2 has a resistive touch screen, and the others that i mentioned have a capasative touch screen, which means they are heat sensative like the iphone.

As everyone else, im in the same dilemma. Moment vs Hero!! This really is a tough choice, however im leaning more towards the hero. I've had a lg rumor for over 2 years, and it was a great phone at first but then it became a brick. My theory being that the constant switch between portrait & landscape mode when sliding the qwerty keyboard out wore the phone battery down.... Im not sure if this helps anyone but id like a phone that doesnt do much changing in screens, i.e portrait & landscape.

Yeah same with me with my moment, its because the processor isnt fast enough. I don't know if there is a way to modify the processor speed or not. I dont think the moment can do it, which sucks. Every phone has their perks.

I have had a razr for 2 years now and I am SO sick of it! So I am getting the moment. Its like a hero but with a full keyboard. So its way better. And it's true, new things come out ALL the time, but I think it's pretty new.

If you are the fashion sensitive type go with HTC. If you are the hardcore 24/7 type go with moment because you will go blind watching videos on Hero 24/7. Moments YT browser seems to be white on black which saves even more power on top of AMOLED advantages over LCD

I watched a YT video on both phones side by side moment loaded and played faster seems blurry and darker than crispier bright Hero watching the same video(Hero displayed same video much larger) but then again one can say Hero is choppier than smooth 16 mil color AMOLED. I like the the YT logo on HTC :).

Its been a month and I still can't decide which 1. I like hero a lot I like the UI and the looks. Samsung moment just seems like a moment 4 me. I think I will just wait at least 4-5 month for 4G samsung android instead of being stuck on 3G phone. if your not used to the touch screen typing on the hero dont worry about. you will get used to it, I had the hero and the moment for a week and i chose the hero. I could now actually type faster on the hero than any other phone that has a keyboard. Cant wait for android 2.0 so then i can stop hearing about the fucking iphone haha

I have the Moment and its awesome. You can talk and still use another app, or go online etc. The only complaint I have is that the Android O.S. is not the latest, and the phone could get a little laggy at times.

I bought the htc hero in November, and almost bought the moment for my wife today 12-07-09 when an employee told me a couple customers came back say a lot of the aps do not work on this phone. I asked one of my phone geek friend about it and he said yup thats true. So I ended getting her the Htc Hero, Awesome phone, 7 home screens %100 customizable.

@traviefresh I scored this and my GF got the hero so we can use both phones during the 30 day trial period. I have been using the moment and love it, the heros UI looks nice but looks only go so far, I love the speed on the moment with the faster processor. Both are good phones though.

GREAT job Sprint!! I have been with Sprint for 6 yrs going on a 7th and most of what I have to say about Sprint has been positive. My ONLY complaint up til now was that Sprint had the CRAPPIEST selection of phones but FINALLY this has all changed. :)

I got the Sprint Samsung Moment Phone and I LOVE it!! Any programs you need just visit the Android market and there is a good chance that you can find something useful there. :)

The reason is the Moment is too bulky and heavy.the qwerty Keyboard is nice but it has an uncomfortable feel to it.the camera quality sux so does the flash.i want the hero because it has a more comfortable feel light to carry around has better camera quality.but thts juss my opinion

The flash is totally awesome on this thing. It is slightly bulky, but much faster than the laggy Hero or even the Droid. The keyboard took some getting used to, but I love it now.

I am partial to the Hero for the Sense UI. I suggest going to a Sprint store and play with both. The Moment's screen is gorgeous. The Hero's UI is beautiful.

If you're choosing between a htc hero or samsung moment. You should go with htc hero, imo. Htc hero comes with htc sense and samsung moment doesn't come with it's touchwiz.

I also like the Moment. Not dissing Apple 'cause I have an old iPod Photo and a iPod nano but I don't like the iPhone and am not impressed with the App Store. It's really just trendy and overhyped. And besides, if Apple keeps marketing the iPod touch as a gaming device, why is the battery life so horrible? A PSP or DS have batteries that keep up with players and the games they play. Just my rant. =0)
