I like the old track hoes like that. There were big differences between the different makes. Today there's not a dime's worth of difference between the different manufacturers.

@copperheadmarine These C166 units were really good in their day. We used a contractor with a C166B with a stiff thumb, handled 3-4' firs and cedars like nobody's business. Used it for lot clearing and acreage logging. Can you still grab this machine Charlie? I'm sure something could be put together.

@copperheadmarine why cant a swing drive from an old Drott or some other old brand be swapped an with a modified motor mount and hyd fitting conversion. Just turn the relief pressure way down so it cant hurt itself. Ive seen this done successfully on a Hitachi UH025-7 (6 ton) excavator with a donor swing motor/drive from a Hitachi EX120-1 with a modified mount plate and hi-alloy ready rod, works today. You'd need a basic pitch and tooth count. Or is there other problems?

Not too bad Chris, you get the hang pretty quick. With nubs it makes it hard to do much but you had the movement down, just a little slow. Charlie did good but of course he had run that things years ago. Glad you got the chance to play some more.
