It doesn't matter how much horsepower your car has it's FWD. True sportscars are RWD, it's the most fun and the best for performance. No matter how fast your make your car, it being FWD will always kill a lot of the fun of driving it. Nobody likes understeer, and torquesteer, and not being able to launch well because of terrible weight transfer.

Ummmnnn since you know so much about cars, you must know that Miatas are not about speed. They are all about handling. That's why the Miata is professionally raced more than any other car in the world on any given Sunday (i.e. Spec. Miata). That, and Miata parts are dirt cheap. :-)

Ummmnnn didn't Honda discontinue the Del Sol because it couldn't compete with the Miata?

Now the S2000 is a different story but not really in the same class as a Miata. S2000's are all about high revs and high horsepower. Miatas are all about putting the horsepower to the street sooner -- about 4500 RPM for Max Power in a Miata compared with the S2000 -- where the V-tech kicks in after 6000 (used to redline at 9 -- now S2000's redline at 8).

Yes -- in 2004 and 2005. I think the stock HP at the flywheel is 190ish. Evans is significantly boosted above that -- for a couple thousand bucks. . .

You can find really nice pre-owned examples on the marking now for under $17,000. I am thinking of getting one. . .
