Why can't u just leave the poor mormons alone??? Just let them be who they are and be who evr u are. If u don't want them to preach to u, just ask kindly and I'm sure they won't attack u with religion
you know what else is rediculous to believe? That if the Mormon church was/is not true Joseph Smith Jr and Hyrum Smith would give their lives as they did. Also that the church is one of the fastest growing in the world. The Book of Mormon is not racist, it is just how it is, it welcomes all people everywhere to come as equals. the question of polygammy has already been answered and it define west. since you surely cannot mean America.
“But even if we or an angel from heaven (moroni) should preach to you a gospel other than what we have preached to you, curse be on him!” Galatians 1:6-9 Mormon’s are not prepared for the coming apocalypse, Huge Sorrow will be to the mormon who refuse to see the truth, You have been warned your fall will be great. Read the BIBLE ONLY!
Where are the tablets the bible was written on??? Abraham was a polygamist so the Bible spoke out at times about polygamy and at other times it was practiced as God instructed through prophets. When used appropriately, through prophetic instruction according to God's will, polygamy has not and never will be used as a sexual deviant practice. Mormons don't practice polygamy today, just like all Christians don't practice "abrahamic" polygamy from the Bible.
Mormons were polygamists along with a lot of other people in the eighteen-hundreds.
and when they made a law against it, MOST Mormons stopped being polygamists
the few that didn't want to stop, broke off the church and formed a different type of religion
that stayed with polygamy you should get your facts straight before you comment, K? by the way, im so tiered of people telling me what I believe, im just like ok thanks for letting me know
@hanniebannanie531 your book, which is racist towards blacks also says polygamy is ok so wtf do you believe? do you not believe what it tells you? the book of Mormon states that there was a lost tribe of isreal that went to america... and that the first people ever created were from the western us... clearly false.. and it also states that black people were created as a curse by god.
this list could go on and on with crazy statements that make no sense and are ridiculously retarded to believe
@THESWEETJK24 ummmm no! and the same could be said about anyone strong in any faith (atheist, Jewish, Christian, Muslim, Scientologist, or Rastafarian. the list goes on and on but if your a Mormon you are clearly a part of a cult.
Why? When Joseph Smith wrote 1 Nehpi 13:26-42, he told me that I belonged to the church founded by Satan. He started this and I will fight it as long as I have breath in my body.
Ah, thanks for that bit of levity there. It's odd, a Mormon quoting Brigham Young while disavowing most of what he taught because it no longer joibes with the church's view it wants to put forth.
Yes, they are making fools of themselves. They know this and so are wearing sunglasses indoors. For the truth about mormonism visit the Utah Lighthouse Ministry site and look under "Newsletters" see no 69 which tells the painful story of a mormon archaeologist who realised that he had wasted 25 years trying to prove the Book of Mormon. A moral for all mormons.
Yes, and the Tanners are very good at persuasive writing though their objectivism is sorely lacking and their deceptive half-truths make for slightly nonsensical banter for Anti's.
I think their writing is quite impersonal and unemotive (unlike some of their crtics). For example the critics response to the Tanner's "Covering Up The Black Hole In The Book of Mormon" consisted largely of insults. If they were confident of their case the mormons would just deal with the issues. In the Tanners' work there are a lot of extensive quotations, to avoid the charge of taking things out of context, and they come to the common-sense conclusions that any non mormon would.
It IS personal to them, though. It's NOT objective. Look at their motives for deceptions and half-truths. Can you honestly tell me that they are unbiased after excommunication? No, no one can. We, as LDS see the the things that are deceptive about their writings.
Unless they renounce their work and come back, I wouldn't give a wooden nickel for their future.
Their motives are to tear down Christ's church and line their own pockets. Their own "ministry" and beliefs would crumble if put under the same intense scrutiny that they, themselves, use against the LDS church. They are not objective, as non-Mormon historian, Lawrence Foster, and former Mormon Michael Quinn have repeatedly pointed out.
In short, their religion, and their livelyhood, is an anti-religion.
This is not to say that the Tanners do not have their purpose in God's plan. I tend to look at it as a tool to seperate the wheat from the tares. Some come TO the LDS church as a result of seeing the Tanner's misrepresentations. Sadly though, some do leave and I attribute that to a weak testimony and lack of study, which I believe is what actually happened to the Tanners to begin with. They got involved with trying to find out all the bad, that they forgot to glorify the good. Just my opinion.
And yet, didn't Gerald Tanner refuse to endorse the "Salamander Letter" that the church authenticated and purchased from Mark Hoffman? If he were dishonest, wouldn't he have simply let the church look foolish?
Instead, the church had no one with any ability to discern a forgery the same way that no one received any divine information to refuse Ted Bundy membership.
If Jesus is really in charge in SLC, he must have fallen asleep because he's not protecting his church very well, is he?
And since he was definding himself, by your own admission, he was thus not a martyr. A martyr goes to his death for his faith willingly as in Jesus' example.
No, I'm not Christ-like because I'm a flawed human being, trying to attain something I neither deserve nor can earn.
I've never killed anyone, nor have I been tried for money digging, the same formula used for "translating" the golden plates, both of which Smith is known to have done. I've also not claimed divine appointment knowing that it wasn't true, unlike Smith, continually revising my account of the Furst Vision either.
Let's see. If Joseph ha d recited the account of the first vision exactly the same every single time, you complain about that and denounce it as a fraud because of it.
You can't tell a paragraph long joke the same every time so what's your problem, hypocrite?
Incorrect. It would show consistancy where it is sorely lacking now.
You're kidding, though, right? You're going to tell me that Smith forgot to mention the "Jewish Minister" named Joshua that he documented in his first, handwritten version in the current version? In that one, he didn't see God or Jesus. You're trying to get me to believe that he would forget parts of the most momentuous events in human history?
Keep in mind that the Furst Vision wasn't even reported until 22 years later.
Is that right? Why can you not answer then? You can't because you don't know, and to investigate it might show you that what you believe is a farce, an utter lie and you don't want that, do you?
It has absolutely nothing to do with the truthfulness of the gospel like you said. No one knows why Heavenly Father allows some things to happen. The Bundy case has absolutely zero to do with the gospel. That is why your question is stupid. You're trying to put a square peg through a round hole.
You're right, Bundy doesn't have anything to do with your "gospel" as it were. It does, however, clearly show that a distinct lack of discernment on the part of the leaders of your church, a black eye that it will never really recover from.
So I get it now. You think that our leaders are supposed to be super-human and not fallible like the prophets of old were. Setting new prophetic standards now, are you? If you think the prophets or their called leaders were perfect in the church of old were perfect, you must live on a different planet than we do.
I never said that; the church itself, however, did. Papal infallibility is clearly indicated by D&C 21:4-5 and in the simple, direct sentence "The Lord will never allow the President of the Church to lead us astray." (Gospel Principles, p 50)
Since the prophet himself can't even meet this standard, there's no reason to believe that anyone else could either.
That passage of scripture does not say the prophet is infallible. Any other scripture you would like to twist into unrecognizable trash? You're teaching lies.
Incorrect. D&C makes it clear that he speaks for god and allows no room for mistakes. This, of course, would not include him asking for his to pass the salt or to pick up toilet paper at the store, on things of god, the distinct intention is papal infallibility.
And still no answer on the Ted Bundy question. Why not? What don't you understand? Is it that no one seemed to have been given a flash of divine inspiration not to let one of the worst American serial killers access to the "restored gospel?" I've wondered that, too, and the only reasonable answer is that there's no divine connection between your church and God.
You're so consumed by hate for faithful Mormons it's pitiful. You go out of your way to post hateful remarks on videos that don't have anything to do with you. You don't even TRY to be Christ-like. I can tell them by their fruits.
Your arrogant stance belies your inability to answer a simple question. You pretend to be so above it all, but if that were the fact, you wouldn't have answered at all.
I also won't let you play the victim role here either. I don't hate you at all. In fact, quite the opposite; I don't want to see you burning in Hell over the false teachings of Joseph Smith. I love you as a Christian should and if I don't appear very Christian, it's because I'm a flawed human being in need of God's grace.
You won't let us claim to be a victim of your bigotry? Surely you jest. You attack our faith over and over and then say you won't let us claim we are attacked. I can see logic is beyond your realm here.
When Smith wrote 1 Nephi 13:26-42 and Joseph Smith History 1:18-19, he attacked every church on earth and I'm responding in kind. He cast the first stone and I'm returning the favor.
If I were a "bigot," I'd be calling for Mormons to be gassed and shot, but have I done that? No, of course not. You're simply deceived by the lies of a fraud who elected himself prophet.
Joseph didn't write 1 Nephi 13:26-42. You, on the other hand, can say that you had a hand in fulfilling prophecy.
I also find it amusing that you continue you attacks with your lame Ted Bundy strawman when you cannot discern when something is a fraud or not. Sounds hypocritical to me.
Since the BOM is not an ancient record of anything, it couldn't have been anyone else. In fact, didn't the early editions even list Joseph Smith as the "Author and Proprietor?" They did, indeed.
We also now know that Smith didn't have the ability to translate ancient languages so yes, unfortunately, the clear indication is that Smith did write the book himself.
The Book of Mormon IS holy scripture. It was translated and dictated by Joseph Smith only. It is a record of the ancient peoples of the Americas. You do not have to accept it. More than likely you will not, at least not in this life.
Is it? Can you explain to me the reason that the Nephites spoke Elizabethan English? They were Jews who spoke "Reformed Egyptian" and yet somehow used a regional-specific langauge that had yet to evolve some 1,600 years in the future on another continent. That seems pretty strange, don't you think?
Yes, it is. You confuse (possibly on purpose) translation with transliteration. Not an uncommon for those that do not realize the difference. And they did not "speak" in reformed Egyptian, they kept their written holy record in what is best described as reformed Egyptian. No doubt they soon adopted the local languages on the current inhabitants of the land. After all, a dozen people couldn't expect an entire nation to change their language to suit those few.
So where, exactly, does Elizabethan English fit into your little equation?
And you're telling me that Jews would keep their holiest writings in the language of their captors? That's absurd. That's like saying that synagogues will should feature swastikas.
But still, we know that it was a literal translation, confirmed by Whitmer and Nelson...
With all this twisting, a person mistake you for a contortionist. It doesn't really matter what language they were written in. If that was the most space-saving language to use then I can see them using it. But that again does not matter. No amount of reason or truth is going to change your mind and you will continue to attack Christ's Church.
And yes, it was a translation, not a transliteration, of the plates.
Actaully, it does matter because if you're betting your eternal soul, your salvation on a book that is allegedly the "most correct on earth," it better live up to its claims, right?
Can you tell me the reason I find so many things that seem to be plagiarized from the Bible in it?
Yes, I can. Why would Christ teach a different gospel than that of the Bible?
Also, why would God reveal contradictory propheciesto those of Isaiah?
They appear to be plagiarized but they are not. The four gospels in the New Testament have many of the same stories and parables yet you do not consider THEM to be plagiarized. It also states in the BoM that the record came with them to the promised land. Therefore the claims of plagiarism are a fallacy.
You're making my point for me at the same time you're contradicting yourself. I said the gospels were the same and you provide proof. If it were a different gospel, there would be doctrinal differences.
You say the BoM is not correct and then you post where they are the same as the Bible. By that standard, you are also saying the same for the Bible. Which is it? You can't have it both ways.
If you read my post, I clearly said that the BOM is wrong, while it says of itself that it, along with the Bible, both contain the "fulness of the gospel."
I can back up each and every single point with Mormon texts, publications, and statements from Mormon prophets, apostles, and scholars.
You're retreating to the "you-just-don't-understand" defense that requires no proof to support it.
I also see that you made no comment on the parallels between the BOM and KJV I submitted, which show it to be a plaguarized work. You want hard facts that the BOM is a fraud? You now have it.
You purposefully avoid my point. These similarities are verifications that it is the same gospel. The the message was different, THEN it would be proof that it is a fraud. Your reasoning and logic are seriously flawed. THAT is proof you do have neither the knowledge nor the willingness to learn. You have your bile and hatred and you think that makes you happy and justifies your comments. You DON'T know, and what's worse, you don't want to know.
These records shall make known to all kindreds, tongues, and people, that
the Lamb of God is the Eternal Father and the Savior (BOM, 1830, p.32)
These records shall make known to all kindreds, tongues, and people, that the Lamb of God is the Son of the Eternal Father and the Savior (BOM, 1 Nephi 14:30)
A minor change that reflects a huge shift in doctrine.
Since Lehi, Nephi, Alma, and Joshua all used parts from a book that had yet to be written, Revelation, you now have a serious problem.
And the fact that they are so similar raises another problem; modern Mormonism has nothing to do with the BOM because it's Trinitarian and grace-needing in view, whereas Mormonism is polytheistic and autosoteric. The message of the BOM is nearly a mirror-image of the Bible, but has seen changes in order to get there.
I avoided nothing. I agree there are striking similarities, which, as shown by the long list of parallels, one came from the other. Since we have some 1,500 independent historical sources for the Bible and none of the BOM, one can concluse that the BOM was written by someone who had the KJV in the other hand.
Why is it such a big deal? Because Mormon missionaries come to my house, tell me that my Bible is wrong (1 Nephi 13:26-42, used seven times to make the point clear), and try to get me to pray over a book that tells me I belong to the church founded by Satan (1 Nephi, chapter 14 heading) when the LDS hasn't issued one correct revelation or prophesy, has nothing to support its claims of authority, and can't even keep its own history straight.
They only appear to be, eh? Is that right? I have to laugh at this assertion because here's a very short list of the paralells from Revelation alone: Rev 11:9, 1 Nephi 5:18 Rev 7:14, 1 Nephi 12:10-11 Rev 18:12, 1 Nephi 13:7 Rev 17:1 and 15, 1 Nephi 14:11 Rev 14:4, 2 Nephi 2:9 Rev 20:2, 2 Nephi 2:18 Rev 20:13, 2 Nephi 9:12 Rev 22:11, 2 Nephi 9:16 Rev 20:13-14, 2 Nephi 28:23 Rev 20:12, 2 Nephi 29:11 Rev 22:11, Alma 7:21 Rev 6:16, Alma 12:14

Since the prophet himself can't even meet this standard, there's no reason to believe that anyone else could either.
moparmonster1965 2 years ago
That passage of scripture does not say the prophet is infallible. Any other scripture you would like to twist into unrecognizable trash? You're teaching lies.
JackNimble61 2 years ago
Incorrect. D&C makes it clear that he speaks for god and allows no room for mistakes. This, of course, would not include him asking for his to pass the salt or to pick up toilet paper at the store, on things of god, the distinct intention is papal infallibility.
moparmonster1965 2 years ago
Let me get this straight. You wish to misinterpret our own scriptures to prove us wrong. Your accusations are pathetic.
JackNimble61 2 years ago
If they were so pathetic, you'd be able to answer them in a way that made sense.
moparmonster1965 2 years ago
I guess you need to understand what a martyr really is. The definition does not, nor will it ever, fit Smith.
moparmonster1965 2 years ago
Your narrow-minded definition of martyr is duly noted, as well as your ignorance of the event.
JackNimble61 2 years ago
And still no answer on the Ted Bundy question. Why not? What don't you understand? Is it that no one seemed to have been given a flash of divine inspiration not to let one of the worst American serial killers access to the "restored gospel?" I've wondered that, too, and the only reasonable answer is that there's no divine connection between your church and God.
moparmonster1965 2 years ago
The Ted Bundy question is idiotic.
JackNimble61 2 years ago
So idiotic, I see, that you cannot provide an answer.
moparmonster1965 2 years ago
No, so idiotic that deserves no answer.
You're so consumed by hate for faithful Mormons it's pitiful. You go out of your way to post hateful remarks on videos that don't have anything to do with you. You don't even TRY to be Christ-like. I can tell them by their fruits.
JackNimble61 2 years ago
Your arrogant stance belies your inability to answer a simple question. You pretend to be so above it all, but if that were the fact, you wouldn't have answered at all.
I also won't let you play the victim role here either. I don't hate you at all. In fact, quite the opposite; I don't want to see you burning in Hell over the false teachings of Joseph Smith. I love you as a Christian should and if I don't appear very Christian, it's because I'm a flawed human being in need of God's grace.
moparmonster1965 2 years ago
You won't let us claim to be a victim of your bigotry? Surely you jest. You attack our faith over and over and then say you won't let us claim we are attacked. I can see logic is beyond your realm here.
JackNimble61 2 years ago
When Smith wrote 1 Nephi 13:26-42 and Joseph Smith History 1:18-19, he attacked every church on earth and I'm responding in kind. He cast the first stone and I'm returning the favor.
If I were a "bigot," I'd be calling for Mormons to be gassed and shot, but have I done that? No, of course not. You're simply deceived by the lies of a fraud who elected himself prophet.
moparmonster1965 2 years ago
Joseph didn't write 1 Nephi 13:26-42. You, on the other hand, can say that you had a hand in fulfilling prophecy.
I also find it amusing that you continue you attacks with your lame Ted Bundy strawman when you cannot discern when something is a fraud or not. Sounds hypocritical to me.
JackNimble61 2 years ago
Since the BOM is not an ancient record of anything, it couldn't have been anyone else. In fact, didn't the early editions even list Joseph Smith as the "Author and Proprietor?" They did, indeed.
We also now know that Smith didn't have the ability to translate ancient languages so yes, unfortunately, the clear indication is that Smith did write the book himself.
moparmonster1965 2 years ago
The Book of Mormon IS holy scripture. It was translated and dictated by Joseph Smith only. It is a record of the ancient peoples of the Americas. You do not have to accept it. More than likely you will not, at least not in this life.
JackNimble61 2 years ago
Is it? Can you explain to me the reason that the Nephites spoke Elizabethan English? They were Jews who spoke "Reformed Egyptian" and yet somehow used a regional-specific langauge that had yet to evolve some 1,600 years in the future on another continent. That seems pretty strange, don't you think?
moparmonster1965 2 years ago
JackNimble61 2 years ago
So where, exactly, does Elizabethan English fit into your little equation?
And you're telling me that Jews would keep their holiest writings in the language of their captors? That's absurd. That's like saying that synagogues will should feature swastikas.
But still, we know that it was a literal translation, confirmed by Whitmer and Nelson...
moparmonster1965 2 years ago
With all this twisting, a person mistake you for a contortionist. It doesn't really matter what language they were written in. If that was the most space-saving language to use then I can see them using it. But that again does not matter. No amount of reason or truth is going to change your mind and you will continue to attack Christ's Church.
And yes, it was a translation, not a transliteration, of the plates.
JackNimble61 2 years ago
Actaully, it does matter because if you're betting your eternal soul, your salvation on a book that is allegedly the "most correct on earth," it better live up to its claims, right?
Can you tell me the reason I find so many things that seem to be plagiarized from the Bible in it?
moparmonster1965 2 years ago
JackNimble61 2 years ago
To your first point, you're assuming that the BOM is correct, which it isn't, so the point is moot.
What prophesies are you referring to?
moparmonster1965 2 years ago
You're making my point for me at the same time you're contradicting yourself. I said the gospels were the same and you provide proof. If it were a different gospel, there would be doctrinal differences.
You say the BoM is not correct and then you post where they are the same as the Bible. By that standard, you are also saying the same for the Bible. Which is it? You can't have it both ways.
JackNimble61 2 years ago
Be careful; you're projecting here.
If you read my post, I clearly said that the BOM is wrong, while it says of itself that it, along with the Bible, both contain the "fulness of the gospel."
That the church's opinion, but not the truth.
moparmonster1965 2 years ago
1. You're not qualified to distinguish projection.
2. Your second is YOUR opinion, not truth.
JackNimble61 2 years ago
I can back up each and every single point with Mormon texts, publications, and statements from Mormon prophets, apostles, and scholars.
You're retreating to the "you-just-don't-understand" defense that requires no proof to support it.
I also see that you made no comment on the parallels between the BOM and KJV I submitted, which show it to be a plaguarized work. You want hard facts that the BOM is a fraud? You now have it.
moparmonster1965 2 years ago
You purposefully avoid my point. These similarities are verifications that it is the same gospel. The the message was different, THEN it would be proof that it is a fraud. Your reasoning and logic are seriously flawed. THAT is proof you do have neither the knowledge nor the willingness to learn. You have your bile and hatred and you think that makes you happy and justifies your comments. You DON'T know, and what's worse, you don't want to know.
JackNimble61 2 years ago
Consider this:
These records shall make known to all kindreds, tongues, and people, that
the Lamb of God is the Eternal Father and the Savior (BOM, 1830, p.32)
These records shall make known to all kindreds, tongues, and people, that the Lamb of God is the Son of the Eternal Father and the Savior (BOM, 1 Nephi 14:30)
A minor change that reflects a huge shift in doctrine.
moparmonster1965 2 years ago
Since Lehi, Nephi, Alma, and Joshua all used parts from a book that had yet to be written, Revelation, you now have a serious problem.
And the fact that they are so similar raises another problem; modern Mormonism has nothing to do with the BOM because it's Trinitarian and grace-needing in view, whereas Mormonism is polytheistic and autosoteric. The message of the BOM is nearly a mirror-image of the Bible, but has seen changes in order to get there.
moparmonster1965 2 years ago
I avoided nothing. I agree there are striking similarities, which, as shown by the long list of parallels, one came from the other. Since we have some 1,500 independent historical sources for the Bible and none of the BOM, one can concluse that the BOM was written by someone who had the KJV in the other hand.
moparmonster1965 2 years ago
sheesh! kinda harsh O_o... why is it such a big deal??? i hate to be the girly-pacafist-hippie buht...cant we all just tolerate eachother??
Zachyree 1 year ago
Why is it such a big deal? Because Mormon missionaries come to my house, tell me that my Bible is wrong (1 Nephi 13:26-42, used seven times to make the point clear), and try to get me to pray over a book that tells me I belong to the church founded by Satan (1 Nephi, chapter 14 heading) when the LDS hasn't issued one correct revelation or prophesy, has nothing to support its claims of authority, and can't even keep its own history straight.
How's that for a start?
