@archangel4life4ever its not how the breed is supposed to look, otherwise they would be born without tails!!! how would you feel if some other species decided to amputate your left arm (for example) because "it looks better"???
@kevkevness It's how the breed is supoosed to look for show, plus they don't even know their tail is gone. It's not a big deal. Leave it be and if you don't like it then just don't crop your dogs tail. There's no use argueing and yelling at me about it.
The Boxer breed is not a natural breed, like the Bulldog one. Not cutting the tail when the dog is a puppy can be very dangerous because it's really fragile and boxer are very vivacious dogs: they hurt themself very easily. Tail damage on adult age is very problematic for you wallet but much more for the dog itself.
Search on google for evidences: you easily find out many.
So tail should be cutted for its safety: it's not a cruelty.
The boxer pup doesn't even feel it when the tail is " docked "
The problem of their fragile, thin tail could never be sorted, and when the Boxer gets older, there is a very high risk of breaking it, causing immense pain to the poor dog, & the surgery is very expensive and usually needs further ops.
@0venMagnet I would write the part "immense pain" in bold. I had a male Boxer and my family loved him so much that we would do anything for him to not suffer; in his last days I would have paid anything for him to stay with us. To me Boxers (but also Argetinian Mastiffs, Am. Bulldogs and some other races) are the most "human" dogs; losing mine has been very hard and because of this I can't buy another one. Everything he gave to me in his 8 years together is being taken away brutally. :-(
I also lost a beloved boxer and am still grieving after 2yrs. A lady near me found an emaciated, scarred little Boxer, his legs & tail were bleeding & he had scars from being beaten ( Irish gypsys, or " travellers ", are famous for this abuse ) ,
The original owners could'nt be found;- cops, papers, radio, etc.. so
She gave him to me, and he filled an enormous void in my life.
@kevkevness The boxer doesn't notice, trust me. The docking is done so early on that they don't even feel it. I have seen the vet do it and he does it with a pair of sharp nail clippers and only bleeds two or three drops. Most of the time, stitches are not needed and if they are, only one is used. Its cruel not to dock a boxers tail because their tails break so easily and they are always wagging them and I mean always. You aren't doing the boxer any favors by keeping the tail long
lol i have a one year old american bull he is my uncles dog puppy and my uncle just mated his dog again and you just made me wanna get another puppy i miss when my dog was that small
i just adopted me a boxer she is the best my old boxer was 14 just died i cried for 5 days he was my best friend had him since i was 1 and im 15 now so....... it was a immotional week for me
thier a little rare and less desirable for breeders because they have a small tendency for deafness so they try to breed out the white boxer which i think is real sad cuz the just as beautiful as any other boxer XD
actually the way they play is a big part of how they got their names because as you said they use their paws a lot even in play fighting hence the name boxer XD
Ah.... my cuteness quota for the day in one vid!! GORGEOUS wee boxer pups! :)

people who buy animals with docked tails are cruel and shallow!
kevkevness 1 year ago
@kevkevness There's nothing wrong with it. It's part of how the breed is supposed to look. Plus, personaly I think the little stubs are adorable.

@6SManu - so sorry for your loss,
I also lost a beloved boxer and am still grieving after 2yrs.
He is now healed & happy, I adore him.
- Go again, You won't regret it..

@CherryRedd86 its just a barrier to keep the little ones from running around the house. Its like what the parents on Rugrats used.
