  • こういった機器の事故や犯罪対策に、パトレイバーが創設されるのですね、・・・

    あああぁああぁあ

  • Very cool, but I don't see the practical use of these robotic walkers

  • Metal Gear Rex ?

  • 渋谷ドクタージーカンスのバトルテック(バーチャル)とそっくり

  • you're almost there :)

  • i hope it has good armour couse i love this machine but i must say the legs annoy the shit out of me ad its kinda slow but it is a early mech so understandable

  • Present Hall Pass!

  • 10 20 years Japan that will be a working wonder of a machine

  • looks so uncomfortable noisy dangerous to ride...

  • Looks just like those enemies from megaman X

  • It may be slow now but the first tanks moved at three MPH so give it fifty years (or less) and that thing will be running.

  • hey guys look its a cardboard robot with 50 midgets inside =P lol looks very unstable wouldnt want to be in it in combat...

  • Haha let's see it step over a wall to target another soldier and not look like a walking cardboard box

  • Just imagine where a concept like this will be 40 to 50 years from now. People have always argued that mechs are impractical in warfare and for the time being, they're right. However, to say they're completely impractical altogether is straight up bogus. I hope I'm alive to see the day that a standard issued bi-pedal mech comes to fruition.

  • lol you can just go around it and then after 30 mins. when it have turned it self you just repeat....

  • beware the dog !!!

  • Mobile Suit Gundam! DEPLOY!

  • Metal Gear!

    It can't be...

  • maybe i'll just use it for law enforcement.. just so that they don't have to risk life and limb to keep the streets clean. i mean the army would probably do better with the magnetic wall. i mean what better way to stop a fight by making the guns fly out the hands of the enemy..

  • if you really wanted to make a decent mech go to IT and post a grant for 100thousand and i promise you that someone would come up with one that is ten time faster and better, while mechs like gundom are very far away you could easily make one like in star wars if you had a decent amount of power

  • @cooljwj about 1 tank engine per leg with counter weights could easily move the legs if you could get a tank engine.. that or just apply a bottom part of a tank and top part loaded with cannons.. would be easier

  • @LeviathanTank then again it dpends on what you're going for and what the goal of the robot would be, robots like this really probably will never go into production because they would cost too much, to make an effective one it would cost millions more than a tank, then again if you have it so it can go through ruff areas, jump off cliffs or land on tall buildings then it would be worth it, such as bringing supplies or ammo and stuff like that to an urban battle feild

  • @cooljwj I'm going to work on making my own design for armour before taking chances looking into robots.. my armour will be made of titanium and hopefully survive a .50 cal round to the chest while only knocking me onto my ass without blowing out my chest cavity, then if it works i'll sell it to the army. if not then i'll rethink how it works and what went wrong then make it again.. trail and error..

  • @LeviathanTank now i'm assuming your talking about body armor, as in a bullet resistant vest or full body suit. there is no current body armor able to stop a .50 cal, that stuff rips apart most tanks and even most low flying aircrafts rather it is jets to bomber or most helecopters, titananium is not a good metal for body armor, while light it will shatter long before it stops a bullet, then not only do you have to worry about the bullet but the shards of metal from the armor

  • @cooljwj if a .50cal hits about 3cm of water or gel the bullet explodes sitting on the surface.. so all that is needed is 3cm of a liquid which can replace any lost then for the titanium i chose that because its lighter than steel yet holds almost the same strength, also reinforcing it is quite simple to do as it is very hard to bend and if reinforced in a certain way it can make it shatter proof and bend proof, meaning if you hit it with a tank it won't bend

  • @LeviathanTank for one thing have you ever fired a real millitray grade .50 cal round? they are vastly different from what you can find in the store. you do realize that a real .50 cal can rip through steal, titanium is just the little brother, it wouldn't stand a chance, plus titanium may be a little light but not so much so that it would be worth the bit of protection that steel gives, also remember steel and titanium aren't the only things out there, i have one word for you ALLOYS!!!

  • @cooljwj i may try alloys.. its just the prototype needs some cheap metals.. basically because its the one which will be getting hammered the shit out of.. plus i know a guy who will help.. my cousin :P.. he's in the british army lol.. and well all i can say is his M16 is pretty much fully customised.. if he puts another thing on it, it will just most likely be the most low tech high tech gun ever made.. he has everything possible on it lol

  • @LeviathanTank oh thats a good choice for a gun, i love the m16 the NATO rounds are cool, not because of stopping power but because they can do more damage to a target than most assult rounds on the market today, it rolls through the body instead of shattering or going all the way through,/\ now back to the metal, don't just go buy metal that you like, do your homework and find the best alloy, alloys are better than most metals, they can be lighter and stronger than steel but more expensive

  • @cooljwj the expensive part is the reason why i'm not going to use it on the prototype. if i can make steel or titanium with stand the power of a .50 cal then imagine what i could do with alloys.. but first it requires testing and prototyping before the full version.. like i said trial and error.. it does a lot of help towards making things better. and if i can make the armour with stand the bullet when made of steel then the alloy version will make people immortal in the battle field

  • @LeviathanTank well the miltiray already has a perfected crytal stucture steel sheet of metal that can handle a .50 but to do that it requires a whole lot more than what you think, also battle feilds are there for people to die, if people become immortal then you'll get a whole new set of problems

  • @LeviathanTank also remember one other thing, if you do somehow make a great body armor who is it going to affect and do you really want blood stains on your creation?

  • @cooljwj no one will be killing in the armour.. its only to scare people away.. and there will be ways to kill the person inside if they go mad with the amount of power the suit brings.. and thats where i will step in (Quite literally) because the suits will be made of magnetic materials, so i will just work on building "The Wall" (14 massive magnets used to make a wall.. anyone can make them, but the power for them, i have designs for)..

  • @LeviathanTank okay if you design anything for any army they will find a way to use it for killing people, thats what an army does, if you dont want them to dont sell them body armor to protect against bullets, i'm not saying its bad but if you do sell it to them expect it to be used to kill ppl

  • @LeviathanTank bend resistant metal is not body armor metal, i'm assuming that your talking about the kind you wear. also are you talking abotu a tank running it over or shooting at it? remember tanks use much bigger rounds than a .50 cal you would need 3 inches of steel to stop a round from a tank, a single round can rip down a building from over three miles away (if hit in the right spot) no body armor, no matter how good can stop a shot like that

  • @LeviathanTank a second thing about body armor don't test it on yourself, you are more likely to be killed by a manufacture flaw than a design flaw, most designs are seemingly soild for the most part but even the best designs can be messed up without a decent grade of supplies, believe me when i say this unless your trained to make bdoy armor do not atempt to make some and expect it to protect you

  • @cooljwj i'll test mobility on myself, and probably the jump systems (can't have a super solider suit without some capabilities which allow it to move faster and jump higher). maybe a high powered spring system in the feet will do.

  • @LeviathanTank third thing, if you want to make a titanium armor (as in must have that metal and only that metal) make sure to perfect the metal stucture, a near perfected crystal stucture will not only be more flexable but more durable and be able to push out deadly force over a larger area. next to stopping a projectile the biggest concern is the force behind the impact, you can still kill someone by internal bleeding without breaking the skin, that is what most body armors work on doing

  • doesn't look very stable

  • That ain't walking but rolling skating, who's fooling who???

  • That ain't walking but rolling skating, who's fooling who???

  • the start of mech like in mechwarrior

  • I totally want one of these

  • HOLY FUCK!!! oO

  • Stop whining, its a robot that has legs

  • "You now have 5 seconds to put down your weapon." LOL

  • Hideo Kojima's greatest fan!

  • Looks like Metal Gear Rex's retarded ginger cousin.

  • @QBALL85 LMFAO

  • Now I'm the miliary invest the same amount as a prototype imagine want we would have

  • everybody meet optimus prime's retarded brother, larry prime

  • for HIGH way ONLY

  • 1'st generation nightmare!

  • it looks like a cheap ass mech

  • put a 37mm highvelocity gun on it and well have a vehicle that can go into the mountains and kick ass.

  • its not WALKER, its GLIDER

  • wtf were they expecting fucking whiners over here were you expecing it to be something out of evangilaon gundam or robotech?? its a good start there one step closer to creating a mech

  • Stop fucking bitching. For 300k thats alright. If they invested the same amount they invest in military tech then what do you think theyd have. Whining hating retards lmao

  • sorry kid youre not tall enough to ride this, well sorry if iv got the same illness as yoda

  • mmm useless

  • PUT DOWN YOUR WEAPON AND SURRENDER IMMEDIATELY. YOU HAVE TWENTY SECONDS TO COMPLY.

  • Dear Santa...

  • "Goliath Online"

    Starcraft

  • how about make a GUNDUM!

  • Is that really even metal on it? Hell, I would just use a tank or an plane.

  • ED-209 would destroy this thing

  • Comment removed

  • Its a Jenner

  • seriously? Targets made from 1980 "Space Invaders" villians?

  • and thus created the first gundam

  • @Mabimanta Lol. Looks like it'd tip over if it stepped off level terrain. I would hardly call that a gundam.

  • What a hunk of crap!!

  • NOT. FUCKING. WALKING.

  • The bigger picture could be, this is the early stages of technology that will be used to control the masses when they rise up because they realise they are being fucked

  • Highly Mobile

  • 逆間接ならもっとよかったのに

  • we need more.

  • that looks stable.

  • it looks like if we got into war with japan again and they used those theyd be screwd

  • Depressing

  • Awesome! Coolest thing in the world! Thumbs up if you agree.

  • Not clunky enough.

  • What a rickety POS

  • with advancement the idea would be ideal for warzones with lots of debris. personally i think the four legged platform would be ideal. the idea of having a mecha that is able to traverse rough debris covered terrain or even climb a building to become a mobile gun platform is where the technology is heading

  • and thus it begins... the dawn of the walkers.... dundundun....

  • And yet at 300k this too faces the same natural enemy of the bike cop: Stairs....

  • These things could take on riots.

  • wow most underwhelming piece of tech ive ever seen. doesnt walk. zero armor. few weapons and less ammo. might as well be a tank because it cant walk it rolls slowwwww. it would get knocked over soooooo easily. stick to tanks people. mechs are impractical. the proff you might ask? star wars episode 6 need i say more. i will anyway. mechs only work if theyare capable of human movements at human speed reflexes

  • but i think that robot is only a prototype

  • Japanese teqnology is AWESOME but i wonder if that robot is good in war

  • @ZZaiBoT2011 no...its not. a simple understanding of physics and basic warfare would tell you that. besides, awesome technology? i guess if those walking robot dinosaur toys are awesome technology then yea but those actually walk and this rolls like a kid learning to roller blade so i guess in comparison to this hunk of junk the robot dinosaurs are awesome technology XD

  • That damned thing is so loud I could propably hear it coming afar enough away to justify using a Barrets just to make meatsauce out of the driver at over a mile out. I see no way for that beast to "hull-down", so it can't really avoid getting except by moving, which is does poorly. No camo, but prototypes tend not to have it anyway. Those are the critiques that come to mind.

  • in the next world war, japan will destroy everyone with their robot suits.

  • @terra61 not if they cant walk the object of a walker is for terrain and plus no armor and RPG would shatter that into pieces and its slow

FAKE AND GAY it should be called a land slider

you ever seen the battle walkers in battlefield 2142 ? look it up on google images

  • @QueefJuicer2 you take me too seriously.

  • how would it work on not-so-flat ground??

  • @leralon It wouldn't. It doesn't actually walk, it has rollerblade-like wheels under its feet. It's walking the same way as someone would ice skate.

  • @armorfid ya i know... thats why i was asking how it would work on not-so-flat ground

  • it dont even lift its feet off the ground. should just throw some tracks on it

  • at-st just became real folks

  • Fuck that, it looks like it's going to fall over.

  • crap! we're gonna Solid Snake for this :/

  • This is a combination of us and Japanese work. This is an old video released intentionally years after it was made. Obviously we r not goin to deploy a " skating wobbly robot ".. It's showing how far they have gotten and where they r heading. Since that is old .. Many many years old just imagine what they have now... With technology now? Just wait

  • @MyLifeWithGoPro um...tanks?

  • And what`s the advantage of a skating robot which shakes like an earthquake and isn`t able to walk?

  • Dear Japan,

    We want in.

    Sincerely, USA

  • I hope they 'll modified that into a knightmare frame and have better armor because that'll get destroyed with one missile

  • It looks like that one robot in that robot war game on xbox

  • i never made fun of u guys hehe

  • WTF... it doesn't even walk!!! It uses wheels. That defeats the purpose of building a walker.

  • @aspade01 no, it will walk but slowly. I saw from TV when i was in japan

  • @090786389410 It doesn't take much observation to see that this "walker" is not walking.

Its weight is not shifted to the opposite foot of the one lifting.

It is obvious that the foot is on a rolling system and while it looks like it is lifting, the wheels remain on the ground and roll forward.

Neither of the legs ever leave the ground and the whole point of a walker is increased mobility that can not be obtained in wheeled vehicles.

This machine is obviously made only to look like a walker.

  • @090786389410 oops

  • @aspade01 The problem is how it would lean under the heavy as shit weight, it can't balance on one leg like humans.

  • @aspade01 All right, but you must admit this is the first Roller Skating Mechwarrior!

  • @tvastar touche'

  • @aspade01 Even if it uses wheels, it is still shifting its weight from one leg to the other in order to get around. Imagine how terribly it would misbalance if the other leg actually fully left the ground.

  • @UmiyuriPapaeyra It isn't shifting its weight what so ever. It looks as though it is lifting its legs, but it is actually not lifting either of its legs at any point. All the weight stays on both the legs all the time. The point in my comment is it is not a walker. It is kinda cool, but not even close to being a walker.

  • This my friends, is depressing...

  • japa so high tech its... this is the start of the new weapon war

  • Nice getting into the star wars theme

  • What a useless pile of junk.

  • @Hoopermazing Still doesn't change the fact that it is awesome. Seriously, I want that thing and will ride it to school, I dare you to tell me that wouldn't be really cool.

  • @1994chocolatemilk Well, I'm telling you that wouldn't be cool. It would be the opposite of cool... unless you're 10 years old.

  • @Hoopermazing How so, it is big, slow, and ultimately pointless with absolutely no practical applications whatsoever. On the other hand, it looks like something out of a movie except it's real. The thing that makes it insanely cool is the fact that somebody actually built something so impractical.

  • @1994chocolatemilk Obviously, we have diametrically opposed definitions of "cool." This is the sort of thing that a dude who has neither wife nor family nor a career to speak of would waste thousands of man-hours building. That ain't cool in my book.

  • Are they still working on this thing?

  • Aim for the radar, Snake!

  • Halloween is coming up, and I bet I could get allot of Candy with this thing...Just got to add a flame thrower to it, and a grenade launcher.

  • AT-ST + AT-RT

  • i would like to go in war with that

  • it walks so slow if it were ever used in war it be nothing more than a big super slow target and thus get blown to bits xD

  • O_O

    I've played this game before...

  • this thing is a piece of shit

  • @JDTUBER21 have you ever heard the english word "prototype"?

  • @GodBlessYou2008 ha yeah but i read an article saying this thing is available commercially in japan. so its not a prototype

  • Whatever, give me an Eva any day.

  • If only it could save them from tsunamis and nukes.

  • i hate it, make a real mech that utilizes bipedal movement, not some fake bot that drags his feet. make it wear some socks and maybe yo ucould power it by static electricity...

  • wtf the guns arnt even real...

  • Dosent really walk though does it? It rolls.

  • @mimlato: Ye it rolls... which makes it completely useless. One of the main arguments of making a walking tank is that it's more mobile in certain situations than a wheel-based one.

This thing looks like it will fall apart under it's own weight anytime...

  • wowo 1 km/h jajajajaja

  • Give it 10 years.

  • The legs are not really of the ground, so I wont really call it a Walker. The tech are here, but the cost would have been much high (see the movies about HAL from Cyberdine). Fun gadget though.

  • WARNING!! Motion sickness pills and WD40 required

  • well about freaking time they made a mech suit! XD

just throw in some arms and faster motors for the legs and you have yourself a warmachine!

  • Is that weapons on the side? Shiiit

  • @madsholthansen

Yeeer but it's only rubber bullets. Still must hurt like hell to be hit by one of those O_o

In the future, war will be lead by these walkers, just with the pilot sitting at a base somewhere.. I love it!

  • @MarkD87dk yeah those bullets can do some damage....i hope they use them in War too but only make them optional to be piloted by user directly in the suit or at a base....me personally i want to hop in one and show off, but at the same time be sirious with the mission...i want to be in the action :D not watching it lol

  • @Rozlelous1165 its not practical. A single let can be damaged to render the entire robot in operable. The only advantage of having a "walking" robot is that it can cover a wide variety of terrain. Other than that, they are slow, cumbersome, expensive and too fragile. Besides, a tank can turn its turret faster than a walker will, travel faster than one, and be armed with more weapons and armor. Face it, bipedal walkers exist only in fantasy. The only possible walkers will be multiple legged ones.

  • @techsniper777 Well i don't exsist in reality so all this is very much possible for me i make the impossible possible lets look outside the logic box for a second because logic to me says limitation, makes me think of a cage you can only have this much, BULL SHIT logic is just an excuse for man to say oh no its too hard lets not try...if that were the case the Write brothers would have never tryied cause at that time humans flying ha that was a joke but what happened there plane took flght..

  • @Rozlelous1165 First of all, its WRIGHT brothers. But still, this IS reality, looking outside the "logic box" does not do you any good. The Wright brothers knew what they were doing, they WERE looking inside said box. "BS" logic never existed. Fact are facts. Limitations are said not because we want them there, but because they happen.

  • @Rozlelous1165 Naturally, some limitations can be overcome, but some simply cannot. It isnt an excuse, its a fact. Besides, man has never "oh no its too hard lets not try" ie look at the Wright brothers. Walker isnt a "joke", its real, this guy made it. But think. what if just one of the legs were damaged, what do you do then? and fyi, you just used logic to surmise what you said. derp.

  • @techsniper777 *Vomits on you* hold on my brain is over worked and stressed from work i can't think of a smart come back just yet........i'll get back to you on that..>_< people make me sick..Im reffering the clowns at work *sigh* oh and sorry for vomiting on you well if the leg is damaged fix it that's what you have mechanics for plus every pilot should know the ends and out of the suit like the back of there hand before ever stepping foot in the mech to begin with AKA pilot training :P

  • @techsniper777 Haha. just wait 10 years.

  • @qwertqwe By then, we wont NEED walkers. Even if it's made practical, other alternatives would be btter in ten years. Whats the point in making a walker industructable fo you could make a tank indestructable too. Besides, havent you watched star wars? A few guys with cable could render a multi billion dollar machine inoperable. Not exactly efficeint,

  • @techsniper777 Oh, yeah we are gonna have flying cars in 10 years! I forgot!

    1. Indestructible tanks? lmao. Yeah they are gonna be made of solid diamond...

    2. No. I haven't seen Star Wars. but if we can make indestructible tanks then what would be stopping us from making these indestructible?

  • @techsniper777 Oh, and we could upgrade... more like a transformer type mech.. but with people inside...? That would make sense to me.

  • soon they will be as tall as buildings and weigh less than a car! SHINING FINGER!!!!!

  • if you are going against that you need a light saber

  • at-st

  • This is like the robot in 20th Century Boys, it's just rolling not walking but still it is pretty amazing.

  • coooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool

  • they could so easily redesign this to look like those AT-STs in Star Wars (the chicken walkers on Endor and Hoth)

  • Tips over? Lol

  • engineer thinks to himself: "now I can take over the world, mwahahaha..."

  • mech assault is the future

  • The MoonWalker™

  • If i drove by and saw that... i would die in a flaming car crash cuz i wasnt paing attention

  • This isn't "walking". It's rolling mainly on one foot, and then rolling on the other. It is fricken huge though. They have to build at least two so that they can fight each other with their tenis balls. I think they could turn a profit on this build if they let people drive them at county fairs and stuff.

  • This isn't "walking". It's rolling mainly on one foot, and then rolling on the other. It is fricken huge though.

  • I'd hate to be stuck behind one in traffic

  • I wounder what the real top secret ones are like, and when, where and why they will be used for the first time.

  • If I was a person in one of those cars that drove by... >.>
