Ron Paul should run in 2012, and I think Barr would go well in a cabnet if Paul won, but if he were to have a running mate, I think it should be Chuck Baldwin. Nader is also exceptable, but once again, seems more like a cabnet member to me.
im a right wing libertarian, but i dont like bob barr, he is only an economic libertarian, socially he is still quite authoritarian, ron paul is a better guy, he understands that even though he may disaprove of something, as long as it doesnt harm somebody else, he has no right to interfere, bob doesnt seem to get this, mike gravel was a better guy for the job i think. i think some of my fellow libertarians get too focused solely on economic issues, while sometimes forgetting civil liberty
Fortunately, Paul is NOT affiliated that much with the Christian Right and probably thinks their intolerance and bashing of anyone that they disagree with or thinks is "sinful" is atrocious. On a radio show with typical Christian conservatives, Paul actually sounded THOUGHTFUL.
Ron Paul praises Barr in this video, but the REALLY interesting thing is that by the end of the election, Paul actually got behind Chuck Baldwin, a Christian conservative preacher, who was the Constitution Party's nominee. Of course, the name is kind of a misnomer, as they are a heavily ultraconservative party on social issues and even talk about GAMBLING and PORNOGRAPHY in their platform! WHO CARES ABOUT THOSE THINGS? Let people have privacy and freedom.
Of course, it's not so surprising when you realize that Paul is more of a libertarian-conservative than a full-blown libertarian. Same goes for Barr. Paul is very conservative on social issues, although he also believes in states' rights. Paul is also a Christian, and he has sponsored numerous religious right-type bills, such as the We the People Act, which I find atrocious. Government shouldn't limit the cases coming before the SCOTUS just because they challenge religon in gov't.
In Texas, there were quite a few Libertarians on the ballot. I went through the entire list and if their wasn't a Libertarian running I filled in the blanks with another candidate. I have run into issues in the past where only one person was on the ballot for a certain office, and yes that quite honestly scared the bat crap out of me! Ive always wondered about that. Quite honestly I voted for Huckabee, because I felt hands down he was the best man for the Job. Refused to vote McCain, or Obama!
The problem that I see with the Libertarian campaign and Ron Paul Revolution is the way they convey their message. I support and understand there view point, but others may see it as a radical way of government which in turn scare and steer people away. They need to practice on delivering their message like Obama, Barr has the voice, not so much Ron Paul and I like Ron. It's unfortunate that we are so shallow when it comes to voting for the next President.
I find it frustrating that despite all of the most intelligent people I know being Libertarians, we can't get a good campaign going. Let's rally together in the next election, maybe when we're well into the depression there will be some real incentive for change
The American sheeple go for it because they don't care to educated themselves about our principles as a country, about the Constitutional and Unconstitutional voting record of these characters, about our system of money creation or pretty much anything else that really matters.
For me, the big thing AGAINST Bob Barr, is that he voted for the Patriot Act. He had a chance to stand up against something then but he did not do it.
Change in political parties happens when they lose votes to third-party candidates. The democrats got owned by the progressives in earlier years, so they adopted their policies to get their voters back. If enough republicans jump ship to libertarians, they'll get the message.
What you are saying assumes our votes count and that we have a Democratic system, when in reality all we've got in America is a sad charade where the two party dictatorship uses the mainstream media to present their own soap opera to the public, a story where these two parties are facing each other and always looking out for We The People,... the American sheeple go for it every four years... they will never learn.
Yes. The libertarian party can never gain office, as much as I would love to see it. What they can do, though, is gain enough votes for the Republicrats to notice. If they notice, they'll change their platform in an attempt to steal the votes back.
Once again... our votes DO NOT COUNT. There's no Democracy in America, just a charade. The only answer to our problems after this upcoming depression due to the crash of our dollar will be a new 1776, as aweful as that sounds.
Barr turned his back on Dr.Paul at the national press club meeting recently not even showing up! Sad the country doesnt have a choice in the matter anyway.

I read about the shennanigans that went on in Connecticut. It is absolutely outrageus that the LP is off the ballot. They did everything they were suppose to, got more then enough signatures. The state screwed it up and refuses to fix the mistake. "Judge Janet Hall's" reasoning for not putting them on the ballot is there wouldn't be enought time to correct the mistake. What bullshit. This rotten Judge should be impeached and I hope the LP sues the asses of the State.

Bob Barr did not say Obama, Just McCain, so by ignorance, he endorses Obama, and their views are not like those either. McCain actually would do more to cross party lines to all groups than any of the people shown. He already has!
Your vote for Libertarian Presidential candidate Bob Barr is guaranteed to improve America's future! If he gets at least 5% of the popular vote in this year's election, his party's Presidential candidate in 2012 will receive millions of dollars in voluntary taxpayer funds. He will also automatically qualify to be on state ballots, thereby avoiding long and costly signature petition drives. So do the 'most patriotic good' with your vote, help America build a 3rd major political party!
Yes i agree, every single vote for a 3rd Party Candidate is a vote to save America and absolutely counts !
If you vote 3rd Party you are part of the solution and not the problem. We need to send a mssg. to the Media and the 2 parties that many of us are not happy and refuse to put up with them anymore. 3rd party Candidates NEED to be in the Debates and we can make this happen !
A vote for Obama or Mccain is a wasted vote on more of the same old chaos and insanity.
i'm a democrat......i have to say though on ron paul's behalf that his biggest mistake was running as a republican....he is a threat to everything the republican party belives in , oil, corruption, and special interest groups. He raised the most money out of all the republican candidates but yet he was one of the lowest in the polls and got the least amount of tv time.....it just goes to show ya its rigged so people like paul have no chance in winning.
huh?? what the hell are you talking about shitstick?? I just said I'm a proud democrat and I will only vote democratic.....I hate republicans because they hate their country and the american people, and also many more reasons but im not gonna name them all.... SO why are you trying to say I think there is more corruption in the democratic party?
To rationalize that away you must accept that the government has special privileges and special rights not delegated to a private citizen. In other words, you must accept that "Social Justice" is not thievery and corruption.
Are the 'pubs perfect? Hell to the no. But(if you ignore the foreign policy blunders of this decade) they are a step above the Dems.
666bushisnazie666 So your saying Ron Paul is good because he is not a republican. If so then you are wrong. Ron Paul is good because he is a true republican.
Oh by the way the Media is dependent not independent news. The media is way to biased. Obama is on TV for everything he does and always gets support form the media. He got a free ticket in.
Voting to bring an end to the two party system is the greatest service you can do to your country.
Regardless of whether McObama or Obamccain wins, your patriotic duty is to remind the whole country that we don't want the Dems and Repubs to hav a monopoly on the political landscape.
Don't be surprised if Ron Paul still gets more votes than Bob Barr. Barr is a joke, as has been every Libertarian candidate since David Koch. The Libertarian party is foolish for not nominating or aggressively recruiting Ron Paul, the strongest candidate in the history of libertarianism
No. The only thing that is obvious is your inability to differentiate between the appropriate, constitutional use of government, and tyrannical government. The ability to govern effectively is determined by leadership ability. Dictators and kings can lead and govern effectively, but I'd prefer a Constitutional Republic.
The problem has always been that we are taxed and the government uses the money for A MILLION other things that don't have any value for our society. If the money was only used for things that actually benefitted us, this would be a frikkin' paradise, but every jerk has his hand in the till.

Bob Barr thinks that perverted sickos who make "crush videos" that show pets being tortured to death should be legal. That's one of the reasons why he lost his next election.
SHAME on the Libertarian Party for embracing such a depraved little worm!
You are a brainwashed loser and just the type of person that is bringing this country to it knees. I bet your stupid ass doesn't even have a college education. You shouldnt be allowed to vote!
Libertarians are just ashamed-republicans-in-hiding with an extra dose of greed thrown into the mix.
Do us all a favor and shut the fuck up & go hide in your US Flag jammies & suck on your independent thumb while dreaming of fiscal responsibility while we set to work fixing all the damage that your fiscal responsibility nutjob ideology about has done to turn our country into a Hellish mess of uncared for sick children, ruined airlines & public transit systems, dead factories & falling bridges.
You mean abolishing the federal reserve and IRS? Those are the institutions that have sucked the country dry. Toolbags like you think you can just keep doing more of the same. Paying the cost of your own slavery.
Libertarians don't believe in having a power elite controlling the landscape of economics. The idea of free markets is much better than corporatism. What is your answer...socialism? Lol...name one time where Marxist ideology in economic thought actually succeeded.
Nope. Regulation hurts the consumer because it will cause a combination of inefficiency from the state along with prices that hurt the consumer. A free market would allow for better competition and more self-regulation because corporations won't have government to bail them out when they become inefficient. Use logic before you decide what is best for the economy...not Marxism.
The Monsanto take over of the food supply can be directly traced back to Bush41 and Clinton. Look it up and get a clue your left/right paradigm is failing.

Oh noes. Someone on the Intertubes disagrees with me!
Fact still remains that Libertarians are as obsessed with destroying Social Security as the GOP is with outlawing abortion. And THAT is why Libertarians will never, EVER, get into the Oval Office.
Bush had a ton of "capital" after the 2004 election and he chose to spend it on trying to mess with Social Security. The public backlash was MASSIVE, and it was all downhill for him from there.
Social Security tax that won't be there when you retire and the basic unalienable right to life is at the heart of American liberty. Social Security is just another way of letting the government legally steal from you. Get a clue.
Denying the right to life of an unborn child is nothing less than tyranny.
I get the hint. It is clear you're a sadistic socialist.
So, you prefer to enslave sentient women into being nothing but breeding slaves, and condemn millions to a brutal death simply because they are no longer of any exploitable use to the wealthy elite.
Go back to the 1400's where you belong (and maybe take back the equally backward Islamofascists there with you). You're not bringing the Dark Ages back, buddy.
OMG! "breeding slaves"? If a slut-hoar has sex w/o protection she does not have the right to murder her baby just b/c she was irresponsible and made a boo boo.
Ron Paul opposing Roe vs. Wade is hardly tantamount to enslaving pregnant women. In fact we currently are enslaved by an onerous central government and it's tyranical laws. The federal government was formed to deal with those things external, while internal matters were to be left to the states. Abortion is a matter for each state to legislate not the federal government. How does that enslave women? If a woman seeks an abortion in a state that prohibits it, she could move? Not the case now.
fuck you shite head mindcloudbeta is true it is YOU who is bringing this country down I hate this country and I know that, you shouldn't be aloud to vote you Liberals are America haters who fucked this country so bad it is unfixable now, thank god I am moving to England, GOD SAVE THE QUEEN FUCK BUSH.
he didnt bail. He has a reputation to uphold for being a consistent politician, and he cannot help that the Republican party changed and he did not conform. Supporting Bob Barr is the best way to reform all the parties
bob barr isn't perfect, but he appears to have seen the light and he will get my vote...and enthusiastic support...maybe when the GOP loses, they will actually use their head this time and see they lost because they've abandoned the traditional Republican views of liberty and limited government...
I appreciate your comment...sometime there has to be change...I hope to see ALL 3rd parties get a MASSIVE vote this year....The 2-party system that is here sucks....
In 1998, He successfully blocked implementation of Initiative 59—the "Legalization of Marijuana for Medical Treatment Initiative of 1998"—which would have legalized medical marijuana in the District of Columbia (DC).[

Its just like this BARR NAZI to pull his comment like the two faced coward he is, because he cant face the truth for which I hit him with. The blood of thousands of solidiers he is responsible for. Tell me, NAZI BARR, how funny do you think it is that your vote is responsible for the deaths of over 1 million Iraqis. Im sure their families will find satire in that reality. Do yourself a favor and drop out. You have no purpose and you are a FRAUD of a candidate. Not to mention your amoral past.
He is a real riot. You should see some of the conversations I have tried to have with him. I make a point and then he makes a hilarious crack about the point made being related to Nazism. It is as funny as it is sad.
I dont find satire in the fact that well over 4000 troops and dead based on lies you bought into. Or the fact the torture camps exsist because of your support. If you find this funny, the it just goes to show how very sick you are and how much of an insane NAZI you are. Yes, you wont even get the 3% you lied about getting for the LP. Perot got 20%, and all of you lies wont get you even a tenth. Take your NAZI campaign and you filthy Repub pack money and BEAT IT.
Im sorry but you piss me off NAZI. How do you sleep at night knowing that your war votes has caused millions of deaths including thousands of US solidiers. How do you feel knowing you did have help caused these soliders to come home damages. Hey about your votes against liberties which you claim to believe in. Patriot Acts and Homeland Sec ring a bell to you. Homeland Sec is the biggest expansion of govt. Funny is a lying 2 faced NAZI like yourself, who buys delegates and now says Ive changed.
The Patriot Act is still in place because Congress voted to extend it, moron. If it wasn't for Barr, it never would have gone up for vote again. Barr voted for the war and the Patriot Act based on false promises given by the administration. It is unfortunate that he did not have the foresight that Ron Paul did to see through these false promises, but few people did. However, unlike most people, Bob Barr has admitted his mistakes and is working hard to reverse them.
And Barr also was responsible for including the sunset provision in the Patriot Act. In other words, he is responsible for making the Patriot Act expire.
HEY dipshit, the patriot act is still in place. Now tell me how do you think the families of the dead troops the Barr help to murder with his Iraq war vote, give a shit about his conversion. Wont bring them back, HUH. Tell us NAZI supporter.
Im not sure if you know this or not, but WHO GIVES A SHIT WHAT YOU THINK. Especially when you lower yourself to supporting a NAZI! I will call a spade a spade, so if the brown shirt and swzatika fits, wear them!
Libertarians believe that the government has the responsibility to protect the right to life, and thus are often opposed to abortion. Libertarians believe in privacy, but they do not believe that people should be legally allowed to murder in private.
Ron Paul should've been President. He was utterly flawless. But since that's no longer an option, Barr is certainly a good second choice. His record may not be perfect, but he admits his mistakes and has worked to fix them.
Ron Paul is still an option...If he wins the election, he will serve. Write him in, I will, and many I know will. On another note, many Libertarians are FOR the right to choice with legal actions such as abortion. Even Ron Paul, but he does believe it to be killing, and wrong, and would like to see it made illegal as well. As long as it is legal, Libertarians still protect individual rights to choose (not all of course). Besides, should people who would kill their children be reproducing?
I almost just choked laughing. BOB BARR - A CONSTITUTIONALIST?
This fascist voted YES for the Patriot Act, YES to ban gay adoptions in D.C., YES to ban flag burning, YES to ban medical marijuana in D.C., sponsored the Defense of Marriage Act, and opposes illegal and LEGAL immigration. He shits on the constitution.
As I'm not gay or a pot head I don't really care about the other things you said but yes, voting for the patriot act was pretty stupid, and he's admitted that, but the lesson here is, if they're going to push something through congress without giving you time to read it, don't vote for it, and if it turns out that it would've been a good thing, well they can just put it through again, as it's a lot harder to repeal something that has already passed.
Yes, he made mistakes, but how can our libertarian movement grow if people aren't allowed to change and grow? I used to hold some views which I now see to be against true liberty. Does this mean that I could never change and eventually become a leader? I think millions of Americans are just now coming to the truth of this idea, and they themselves will be the leaders of this great movement someday. Let's all get on board! Go Paul, Go Barr!

22KingRat 3 years ago 7

666bushisnazi666 3 years ago
My god! You can't possibly tell me that there is more corruption in the Democratic party than Republican party!
highonhayek 3 years ago
huh?? what the hell are you talking about shitstick?? I just said I'm a proud democrat and I will only vote democratic.....I hate republicans because they hate their country and the american people, and also many more reasons but im not gonna name them all.... SO why are you trying to say I think there is more corruption in the democratic party?
666bushisnazi666 3 years ago
Taxation is theft.
To rationalize that away you must accept that the government has special privileges and special rights not delegated to a private citizen. In other words, you must accept that "Social Justice" is not thievery and corruption.
Are the 'pubs perfect? Hell to the no. But(if you ignore the foreign policy blunders of this decade) they are a step above the Dems.
highonhayek 3 years ago
666bushisnazie666 So your saying Ron Paul is good because he is not a republican. If so then you are wrong. Ron Paul is good because he is a true republican.
Oh by the way the Media is dependent not independent news. The media is way to biased. Obama is on TV for everything he does and always gets support form the media. He got a free ticket in.

People who hate government can't govern effectively. Is that obvious to anyone else?
paintersron 3 years ago

Libertarians don't believe in having a power elite controlling the landscape of economics. The idea of free markets is much better than corporatism. What is your answer...socialism? Lol...name one time where Marxist ideology in economic thought actually succeeded.
gsn1hiroland 3 years ago
Like drinking clean water and eating non-contaminated food? Thank a liberal Democrat.
mhirtes12 3 years ago

Take a hint from that.
mhirtes12 3 years ago
Because those are the only moral positions.
Social Security tax that won't be there when you retire and the basic unalienable right to life is at the heart of American liberty. Social Security is just another way of letting the government legally steal from you. Get a clue.
Denying the right to life of an unborn child is nothing less than tyranny.
I get the hint. It is clear you're a sadistic socialist.
wind0wninja 3 years ago
So, you prefer to enslave sentient women into being nothing but breeding slaves, and condemn millions to a brutal death simply because they are no longer of any exploitable use to the wealthy elite.
Go back to the 1400's where you belong (and maybe take back the equally backward Islamofascists there with you). You're not bringing the Dark Ages back, buddy.
mhirtes12 3 years ago
OMG! "breeding slaves"? If a slut-hoar has sex w/o protection she does not have the right to murder her baby just b/c she was irresponsible and made a boo boo.
kwazi6 3 years ago
Ron Paul opposing Roe vs. Wade is hardly tantamount to enslaving pregnant women. In fact we currently are enslaved by an onerous central government and it's tyranical laws. The federal government was formed to deal with those things external, while internal matters were to be left to the states. Abortion is a matter for each state to legislate not the federal government. How does that enslave women? If a woman seeks an abortion in a state that prohibits it, she could move? Not the case now.

cshupe32 3 years ago
The Patriot Act is still in place because Congress voted to extend it, moron. If it wasn't for Barr, it never would have gone up for vote again. Barr voted for the war and the Patriot Act based on false promises given by the administration. It is unfortunate that he did not have the foresight that Ron Paul did to see through these false promises, but few people did. However, unlike most people, Bob Barr has admitted his mistakes and is working hard to reverse them.
cshupe32 3 years ago 6
At least Ron Paul knew those promises would be false, and the stupid actions by congress to fall for such deceit would not be easily forgotten.
EternalXBlight 3 years ago 2
And Barr also was responsible for including the sunset provision in the Patriot Act. In other words, he is responsible for making the Patriot Act expire.

truthout911 3 years ago
Libertarians believe that the government has the responsibility to protect the right to life, and thus are often opposed to abortion. Libertarians believe in privacy, but they do not believe that people should be legally allowed to murder in private.
Ron Paul should've been President. He was utterly flawless. But since that's no longer an option, Barr is certainly a good second choice. His record may not be perfect, but he admits his mistakes and has worked to fix them.
cshupe32 3 years ago
Ron Paul is still an option...If he wins the election, he will serve. Write him in, I will, and many I know will. On another note, many Libertarians are FOR the right to choice with legal actions such as abortion. Even Ron Paul, but he does believe it to be killing, and wrong, and would like to see it made illegal as well. As long as it is legal, Libertarians still protect individual rights to choose (not all of course). Besides, should people who would kill their children be reproducing?

As I'm not gay or a pot head I don't really care about the other things you said but yes, voting for the patriot act was pretty stupid, and he's admitted that, but the lesson here is, if they're going to push something through congress without giving you time to read it, don't vote for it, and if it turns out that it would've been a good thing, well they can just put it through again, as it's a lot harder to repeal something that has already passed.
luke666808g 3 years ago
Yes, he made mistakes, but how can our libertarian movement grow if people aren't allowed to change and grow? I used to hold some views which I now see to be against true liberty. Does this mean that I could never change and eventually become a leader? I think millions of Americans are just now coming to the truth of this idea, and they themselves will be the leaders of this great movement someday. Let's all get on board! Go Paul, Go Barr!
