It's obvious by some of the comments on here, that either a lot of people did not read the book, or they're pretty bad at comprehension. The author explained imprinting VERY clearly in the books. It should not be that hard to grasp. And some people keep saying they've only seen the movies....imprinting was explained in two of those movies.

If you understood the books you would'nt say that, jacob imprints her as a new born and instantly loves her, not sexually, but like a brother that cares for his sister, and when shes becomes a toddler he will be the best caregiver, and until she grows up then he will love her like a young lady, there is nothing gross about it, edward would'nt allow it if he did'nt know what he was thinking of renesme, and he understands imprinting... first do your homework on imprinting then comment please.

Actually, Jacob "imprinted" on Renesmee (Bella's daughter) and werewolves don't have a choice in who they imprint on, otherwise Jacob would have chosen to imprint on Bella after he became a werewolf and all that jazz in New Moon. So, no he did not "go" after the daughter. The same with Sam when he imprinted on Emily, but was in a relationship with Leah...there was no choice in the matter.
People these days don't know how to read and understand the book they are reading it seems.

Edward just never ages. When Renesmee is Jacob's age it will be exactly the same relationship as Edward and Bella. If you read the books it explains what imprinting really is.
Not a huge fan of the books, but I've read them. Renesmee will be a full grown adult soon. Jacob only acts as her protector while she's a "child." He doesn't see her as a sexual object in any way and 19 year old Jacob didn't choose to imprint on a little child. Keep in mind these are fictional characters. The author portrayed Jacob as Renesmee's guardian only and don't worry, she has fictional parents to protect her.

@klajassie101 he loves her like a sibling and will always protect her. If you think about it how is it any wierder than Edward and Bella, Bella wasn't even born yet when Edward was her age. Edward just never ages. When Renesmee is Jacob's age it will be exactly the same relationship as Edward and Bella. If you read the books it explains what imprinting really is.

Not a huge fan of the books, but I've read them. Renesmee will be a full grown adult soon. Jacob only acts as her protector while she's a "child." He doesn't see her as a sexual object in any way and 19 year old Jacob didn't choose to imprint on a little child. Keep in mind these are fictional characters. The author portrayed Jacob as Renesmee's guardian only and don't worry, she has fictional parents to protect her.
