NZ Army didn't issue helmets to us in the Logistics Corps,we got DPM Pattern Sunhats and Straight caps for Officers.

I've always noticed that. The germans had way superior helmets. I don't get why the rest of us couldn't fucking get the picture. "Lets just place a frying pan on our head. That'll work real nice. I need to be able to see with the eyes on the back of my head."

Why does the padded American helmet have to be apart of some charity? Shouldn't the government provide the most protective helmet it can, a difference that could save lives. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt their budget that badly.
