  • first time that i see a record of 16 inch :| :o how much duration has the side?

  • @fertub26 The standard 16" transcription is cut with a 2.5 mil groove and is 15 minutes per side. THe later discs from the 50's with Microgroove (1 mil) can handle 30 minutes per side.

  • @stratocat9999--I see these at used record stores and especially flea markets from time to time. I could've swore I heard something about 14" records. Did these exist. I thought only 16" ones were the only ones in existence. They are definitely huge :-)

  • @Interests2009 There was a time you could find great classic radio shows on these. Not many left out there. Before tape, this is how radio shows were either released for syndication, or recorded to lacquer or aluminum discs for sponsor review and time delay. 14" discs are very early acoustic recordings. Victor experimented with them in the early 1900's, (check out MusicBoxBoy's channel for a great example).. Pathe also made 14" discs that ran at 140 RPM.
